peanut_crackerz
dapat si oscar larrios muna, mga tipong round 1, k.o na agad, may belt pa si pacman pag natalo nya si larrios,IBF ata o WBO. :mtc: Quote Link to comment
brawler201
Can't we just all be friends and agree to disagree? Walang demandahan pagkatapos. Abugado yata si SOLICITOR judging from his nick. DING! DING!..Seconds Out!!... Oscar Larrios is a Jr. Featherweigth contender. Too light and offers no big money payday for Pacman. Quote Link to comment
kanto-terrorist
wats the matter with solicitor's comments? truth hurts? for me, i agree on most of his points. oo nga naman. on some, may mga bagay na di naman talaga kasalanan ni manny. It's circumstances, anjan sya sa sitwasyon na ang hirap tumanggi na magamit. Anyway, u rly hit the mark regarding the opportunist politicians and couldnt say it better on how rotten our society is, whether its victory or a dismal loss. Quote Link to comment
brawler201
Roach sees no early Pacman-Morales III First posted 11:47pm (Mla time) Jan 26, 2006 By Recah TrinidadInquirer LOS ANGELES -- Speaking of immediate prospects, trainer Freddie Roach said Manny Pacquiao would “rest in Manila, fight two more fights this year, while waiting for Morales to be ready next year.” That means there would be no Pacquiao-Morales III this year, although Marco Antonio Barrera has again loomed big as a next opponent. These details were gleaned from an interview conducted by the GMA-7 team that joined Pacquiao when he made a triumphant return to the Wild Card Gym Tuesday from his conquest of Erik Morales last Saturday. Pacquiao was scheduled to depart yesterday evening for Manila, where he is expected on Friday morning, local time. “Pacquiao will fight two fights this year, but Morales won’t be ready until eight months or maybe a year,” GMA-7 cameraman Greg Gonzales quoted Roach as saying. Pacquiao, in a blue shirt, discussed immediate plans with Roach during the brief visit where the boxing superstar was hailed by a big group that included hiscountrymen, the staff and boxers working out in the gym. The Battle, the second clash between the ring rivals, could’ve been an eliminator for the WBC super featherweight boxing title held by Barrera. But Pacquiao had told the Inquirer he refused the WBC proposal because of the $50,000 sanction fee being imposed by the world boxing body. “Eliminator lang, hindi bale kung championship (This was not even the championship),” Pacquiao had protested. Of course, as holder of the WBC International title, reserved for fighters rated 11th and above by the association, Pacquiao also has the right to immediately challenge Barrera for the 130-pound crown proper. There was a rematch clause in the contract of the Battle, but promoters had to momentarily junk this due to the severe punishment suffered by Morales, who was rushed to the hospital for a check-up after the humiliating loss to Pacquiao. Olympian Zahir Raheem, who had beaten Morales last September, did not figure in the Roach-Pacquiao conversation. Among those who greeted Pacquiao in his triumphant return to Wild Card was Mexican boxing great Bobby Chacon. He kissed the RP hero and had a photo taken with Pacquiao, also known as the Mexican Assassin here. ________________________________________ It looks like Morales is really out of the picture for this year. I hope Barrera finds his balls and faces Pacquiao withinn the year. Side note on the article, for the really young ones who didn't witness boxing during the early '80's (I was still young then, I just got into fight watching really early..), Bobby Chacon was part of a division that was one of the most exciting during the period which was a lot to say considering that this was the period of the glorious heavyweights and welterweight-middleweights with Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns and Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Chacon fought in the fabled Jr.Lightweight/Super Featherweight division that featured a slew of exciting and heavyhitting boxers that included Rafael "Bazooka" Limon, Cornelius "Boza" Edwards, Hector "Macho" Camacho and our very own Rolando "Bad Boy" Navarrete. solicitor
Manny is a breathe of fresh air for a lot of our countrymen who have almost nothing to hope for. People want to see heroes and believe in them. He doesn't really need to act the part of a hero, it's a mantle already placed upon him by the millions of plain folks who identify with the former poor boy from Gen San. And I have really nothing against that. What indeed is wrong is how our government officials are using Pacquiao's exploits and success to grandstand. Even to the point of exploitation to distract our countrymen of the hardships and wrongs that ills our country. Sleight of hand and misdirection are magician crafts that is apparently not lost on our government leaderrs. I guess a call to our government officials to live Pacquiao alone, mind their own business and do their jobs of running the country properly is perhaps as equally important as the call for Pacquiao to just concentrate on boxing. Our grandstanding government officials can't help themselves when they see a gold mine.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is precisely the problem dude. Politicians are politicians. They will feast on anythng that will will give them advantage/media mileage. Manny has to learn to play his cards. Stay away from this zombies.Concentrate on fighting..........confine himself within his world.........sports and not politics. By doing that .......it will be less controversial and he will earn more the respect of critical thinking Filipinos. Quote Link to comment
