Headroom
I think you're referring to Marquez, not Velasquez. Velasquez I think was the one Manny knocked out the last time. And Manny never knocked out JMM in that fight, but he did get in three knockdowns in the first round.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> At the end of the day - what happened in the past doesn't count - its who has prepared best and wants it the most - the no guts no glory factor. Both tough men, great fighters and deserving of all that comes their way - but back Manny all the way. Quote Link to comment
Guest Inquisitive
would you call a person giving his country honor and pride a "sham"?!? my grandfather is working in GenSan right now. His boss owns a restaurant there named Ranchero Grill. everytime manny goes to GenSan, he will call my lolo's boss to make a very big reservation, and you know who the visitors are? tricycle drivers, jeepney drivers, old friends he has not forgotten despite of the success, fame and wealth that he has right now! now, is that "mayabang" for you???<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I concur! Koji21
I hope the negative sentiments is not rooted on the pinoy culture "crab mentality". On the topic, anybody who've followed both boxer's careers will know that both boxers will give their all, no one will quit. It is in their characters to give 100%, specially at this point of their careers. Which means we will have a great fight on sunday! :thumbsupsmiley: I just hope the fight does not take too much from both Manny and Eric. Quote Link to comment
kanski
Manny has become too overacting in his portrayal as a Filipino Hero. The guy is a sham!!! in reality he is mayabang and have you guys seen the interview of his wife crying on national television?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> You come off as someone who is envious of Manny by saying this. Aminin... Someone mentioned in this thread that media is to blame in the portrayal of Manny as a Filipino hero. Personally, I don't have any problem with that. But more importantly, Manny has remained soft-spoken even if he does come out in media every so often. Quote Link to comment

bret_hart
Odds now in favor of Pacman The Philippine Star 01/21/2006 LAS VEGAS — Manny Pacquiao is back in the driver’s seat as far as the betting odds for his coming fight with Erik Morales is concerned. At the sportsbook.com betting station located on the ground floor of the 60-storey Wynn Las Vegas, Pacquiao was the favorite as of 9 p.m. Thursday. Pacquiao was listed at —115, meaning you have to place $115 to win $100. Morales was at —105, meaning you have to place just $105 to win $100. When the early pre-fight forecasts came out last week, Pacquiao was a 10-8 favorite to beat Morales and avenge his bitter loss last March at the MGM Grand. But last Tuesday, everything went dead-even at —110 until Thursday. Pacquiao was the overwhelming favorite when the two fighters fought last March. "Pacquiao fans have started placing their bets that’s why," said a Pinoy boxing expert. "While probably the Mexicans are holding on to theirs until the day of the fight." Curiously, the sudden change in the odds came on the day Filipinos, including a big group of local politicians, started to flock to Las Vegas. Some of them were already seen at the 110,000 square-foot casino area of the newest and most expensive hotel in Las Vegas today. — Abac Cordero PACMAN Quote Link to comment
