Used to love going to their cubao branch for the mami and siopao...yum...yum...naaalala ko pa pag hinahanda yung mami...gugupitin sa harap mo yung pork, beef and chicken na toppings...sayang wala na. ang alam ko meron pa yung sa may banawe ah.... then again, ma ssure ako sa branch sa quiapo yun lang nga ang mahal na ng mami nila... P70-85 ata per order... buti yung siopao asa P35 lang... the ma-mon-luk along quezon ave near corner banawe is still very much around. it still retains its antique furniture (round wooden tables and chairs) and no air-conditioning. para kang nag travel back in time when you go there. it is still patronized by a lot of people. the prices may have gone up (due to devaluation of the peso) but you still get your money's worth for the quantity they serve. there is a new one along ortigas ave in greenhills, san juan called "ma-kong" (i think??). it is right across ash creek. same quality of mami and siopao and priced similarly. this is owned by relatives of ma-mon-luk. hottlipss Posted July 20, 2006 Share Posted July 20, 2006 (edited) I was very picky as a child and but with these food me appetite ako; 1. mainit na kanin uncooked fresh egg na binuburan nang asin .....tried it here, hindi masarap...masyadong malansa 2. rice with balot juice and yolk 3. kanin, toyo, at mantika 4. mainit na kanin (uli) at sariwang gatas nang kalabaw at me tuyo oh what I would give to have this again! 5. homemade tapa from my lola's town-concepcion, tarlac 6. choco (unsure about the spelling) 7. Milo at Ovaltine...gusto ko yung pinapapak tapos parang nagpa-pop sa mouth mo 8. buko ice candy 9. tropics at Pop cola (yun ang bribe sa akin para mag afternoon nap ako) 10. yun sa labas nang school namin (Holy Family Academy- Angeles City) me fresh na ginisang mani at me sawsawan na mahanghang 11. fish balls (hindi ako kumakain nang lunch sa school nun para lang mai-save ko yung pera ko to buy fish balls) Dang, now I'm hungry!
