Heavy traffic already a given during weekends, more so when there are special occasions (like this Father’s Day Sunday).

If one really needs to go on a weekend, try alternate routes like Casile or Amadeo. Still, be ready to wait for a table in the popular restos unless you have a reservation (as long as you make it to your reservation on time).

last saturday was my worst experience at balay daku. unexpectedly they closed gates to customers after long hours & traffic drive from manila to have a late lunch. according to the liars gate guards that they are already fully booked when it is very visible that there were no cars queing to get parkings but a lot of parking slots available. i called up earlier just to get updates but nobody bothers to answer their phones....poor management practice...won't bother to come to this place again...nobody cares if they close gates forever.

Balay Dako for Filipino food. Mas may variety yung menu ng Bag of Beans. You can't go wrong with either.

May breakfast buffet din sa Balay Dako pre-pandemic, dinadayo kasi masarap. Kapag gabi ginagawa nilang bar, maganda yung ambiance.

Whatever occasion will be celebrated on any weekend, expect heavy traffic along the main roads.
Hoping that the hyped restaurants and locations would operate late at night or 24 hours so people could enjoy kahit anong oras maisipan pumunta.
There are a few good coffee shops on the outskirts too which is very nice, not too noisy, not too crowded.

weekdays drive to tagaytay to enjoy the daytime view is best bet to avoid heavy traffic. early morning drive is excellent too and then back to the city after lunch.

used to go there on Sunday to enjoy the cool weather and hot bulalo pero now traffic is super bad, ikaw mag iinit ulo bago ka makabulalo hahahaha so we go there on weekdays na much better sa traffic.
