s3cr3tiv3
Yeah, I read Hope for the Flowers too... Very inspiring story. Anyway, I used to really love reading the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books. I used to wonder why Franklin Dixon and Carolyn Keene never seemed to die, but just kept on writing and writing books, books, and more books. Of course, that was before I found out that FD and CK were pen names for a whole lot of ghostwriters writing as FD and CK. Quote Link to comment

blow_gobi
Three years ago, I got to read the Chronicles of Narnia including the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe, which my daughter borrowed from her school library and brought home. As I was reading the books, my tears fell. The stories were so magical and fascinating for a 9-year old, and would have greatly influenced my life if I were a 9-year old. Unfortunately, I wasn't, so I couldn't do anything but be sad. Quote Link to comment

reddimus
hey i loved the elves and the shoemaker too haha nung bata pa ko shempre i also loved "the little princess" (aka princess sara) , "heidi" and "black beauty" - read them when i was in 2nd or 3rd grade and my favorite when i was in grade school: the Sweet Valley series OT My classmate actually gave me a Sweet Valley Halloween Super-Chiller Special (tama ba?) for a Christmas exchange gift. Ang kaisa-isang Sweet Valley ko. Didn't know why she gave me one though considering I'm a guy. Anyway, I read the Little Prince back when I was 7 and surprsingly liked it. Di ko lang nagets yung mga philosophical points. hehe. Quote Link to comment
vagabond
When i was in grade school nothing beats the Choose Your Own Adventure series... Quote Link to comment
Guest bleeding_angel
when i was in my early grade school years, my favorite book was the little mermaid... that is why up to this point, i have not seen the disneyfied version of it... kasi maiinis lang ako... the mermaid should not have a happy ending in the end kasi she will sacrifice herself for her man... it's unconditional love in all it's glory written for young girls.
