  1. On 18 November 2025, DigiPlus Interactive Corp announced that it had acquired a 53.89% controlling stake in International Entertainment Corp, the Hong Kong-listed parent company of New Coast Hotel Manila. The ₱12-billion transaction — HKD 1.60 billion, US$205.8 million — was the largest single Philippine gaming-industry acquisition in 2025 and the structural move that turned DigiPlus, the country's dominant online-gaming operator, into a land-based integrated-resort player. The acquired property: a 203-room hotel on Roxas Boulevard with a PAGCOR provisional casino licence, 96 gaming tables, and 495 slot machines, currently under renovation. The casino floor is scheduled to reopen in January 2026; the hotel renovation completes in Q3 2026. The combined investment runs to approximately US$1.2 billion. For the affluent Manila traveller, New Coast Hotel Manila is the 2026 story to watch — a Roxas Boulevard heritage address rebuilt as the next Manila Bay integrated resort. Flying In New Coast Hotel Manila sits on Roxas Boulevard in Malate, Manila — the historic seafront strip that the Manila Bay reclamation district extended westward from, and the address that the original Hyatt Regency Manila held when the hotel opened in 1969. From Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, the drive is fifteen to twenty minutes via the Skyway and Roxas Boulevard northbound; from Terminal 3, twenty to twenty-five minutes; from Clark International Airport, ninety minutes to two hours via NLEX-Skyway. The DigiPlus integration team has indicated that a complimentary luxury-sedan airport transfer programme will be in place when the casino reopens in January 2026. The Roxas Boulevard frontage is the property's most-distinctive geographic asset. Unlike the Entertainment City four — Solaire, Okada, City of Dreams, Newport — which occupy the reclaimed Manila Bay coast in Parañaque and Pasay, New Coast holds the original Manila Bay frontage of Malate, with the West Philippine Sea sunset visible from the upper-floor rooms. The DigiPlus Acquisition DigiPlus Interactive Corp is the company behind the BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone branded online-gaming platforms operating in the Philippines. By 2025, DigiPlus had become the country's largest online-gaming operator by revenue — and, in the regulatory environment of late 2025, also the most-watched. The PAGCOR online-gaming licensing reforms had compressed online-operator margins; DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco's response was to pivot toward land-based gaming. The acquisition target was International Entertainment Corp (IEC) — the Hong Kong-listed parent company of New Coast Hotel Manila. DigiPlus subscribed to International Entertainment convertible notes worth HKD 1.60 billion (US$205.8 million); on full conversion, DigiPlus controls 53.89% of IEC. The acquisition was, in DigiPlus chairman Tanco's framing, the company's move to "bridge digital innovation with real-world experiences." In Philippine business-press framing, it was DigiPlus betting ₱12 billion that the future of regulated gaming runs through integrated resorts — not online platforms. The renovation underway brings the casino floor back online in January 2026 and the hotel back to full operation by Q3 2026. The combined investment commitment, including the renovation programme, runs to approximately US$1.2 billion. The Heritage Address — Hyatt Regency Manila to New Coast The property's heritage runs to the 1969 opening of Hyatt Regency Manila at 2702 Roxas Boulevard — the first international five-star hotel to open on the strip. The property remained a Hyatt Regency until 2015, when New World Hotels took over operations, rebranding to New World Manila Bay Hotel. In 2020, the property rebranded a second time to New Coast Hotel Manila under the IEC umbrella. The casino has operated on and off across the property's lifespan, most recently as a PAGCOR-licensed venue under the IEC operator structure. The current renovation programme will integrate the casino more deeply into the hotel structure than at any point in the property's history. The Casino Floor The reopening casino floor will operate at 96 gaming tables and 495 slot machines — a mid-tier scale that places New Coast above the Casino Filipino branch sizes but below the Entertainment City four. The PAGCOR provisional gaming licence is in place; the renovation is calibrated to deliver the floor in time for a January 2026 reopening. Baccarat is expected to dominate the table programme, following the standard Asian-clientele Manila pattern, with blackjack, roulette, sic bo, and poker supporting. DigiPlus's online-gaming background suggests the floor may carry a higher electronic-table-game density than the established Entertainment City properties — though the final mix will be confirmed at reopening. Multi-currency operations will likely accept peso, US dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Singapore dollar, and Korean won at selected tables. Standard-floor minimums are projected to range ₱500 to ₱5,000, calibrated for the local-affluent and the regional-tourist clientele. The Hotel The hotel component holds 203 rooms across the original tower, with the renovation programme calibrated to deliver Q3 2026 completion. The room product runs across categories from Deluxe through Premier Suite, with the upper-floor rooms commanding the signature property shot — the Roxas Boulevard sunset over the West Philippine Sea, framed by the heritage seafront strip. For affluent Manila travellers who have stayed at Hyatt Regency Manila in its 1980s-1990s peak, the property's address and orientation will read as familiar. The renovation refit is the structural update — but the location is unchanged. How New Coast Will Compare When New Coast reopens its casino in January 2026, the Manila Bay gaming landscape becomes a five-property cluster — the four Entertainment City properties plus New Coast on Roxas Boulevard. The competitive distinction is geographic and historical: where the Entertainment City four sit on reclaimed land in Parañaque and Pasay, New Coast holds the original Manila Bay seafront in Malate. For affluent guests prioritising the heritage Roxas Boulevard address — the strip that defined Manila's hotel scene before Entertainment City reclamation began — New Coast is the booking. For guests prioritising scale, brand-portfolio diversity, or the integrated-resort programming, the Entertainment City four (and the upcoming Westside City Resort) retain the depth advantage. The longer-term question — whether DigiPlus's ₱12-billion bet on land-based gaming pays off — runs across the entire 2026-2028 horizon. When New Coast Reopens The current timeline: January 2026 — Casino floor reopens. The PAGCOR licence remains active through the renovation; the gaming programme returns to operations at the 96-table, 495-slot scale. Q3 2026 — Hotel renovation completes. The 203 rooms reopen at the refitted standard. Full integrated-resort operations. Late 2026 to 2028 — Ongoing programmatic build-out as the DigiPlus integration team operationalises the property's digital-to-land-based linkages. Watch for the BingoPlus and ArenaPlus brand integrations into the casino-floor loyalty programme. For affluent travellers planning the first New Coast booking, the January 2026 casino reopening is the window for the gaming-first visit; the Q3 2026 hotel completion is the window for the full hotel-and-casino experience.
