  1. man, i've never seen the ateneo faithful out in force the way they are now. or at least, i haven't seen them out like this in quite a while. bakit kaya?

They are celebrating because they just beat their bitter rivals in the finals. I'm sure DLSU fans would be out in full force as well if they had won.

It is so sad to see Pumaren trying to take away from the victory but continuing to create controversies that detract from their own wonderful season.

Several times this year the DLSU Team showed that they could play thru adversity. The last second win over UST was a prime example of that. Instead their coach takes away from the accomplishments of his players by resorting to gimmickry in the press.

He should be talking of about how proud he is of taking a team that was not as good as his champion teams to the brink of a championship, of how JV casio has become a full fledged DLSU hard court legend by the ways he played and the quiet way he lead the team without fanfare, and of how Rico may have a difficult time controlling his emotions but that is a part of what makes him a good-great emotional and athletic package on the court.

Now people won't remember that. They will remember the complaints, the desertion, and the non-claiming of the trophy.

  2. ^ At least somebody here admits that Pumaren has given DLSU the most titles in this decade.. Truly an Atenean worth talking to..

Maangas, mayabang, bobo.. Bakit perpekto ba ang Ateneo or any school that you can think of.. That is a BS statement.. You wanna know what happened last year? Well Ateneo losing to NU on a game where DLSU's fate is on the line happened.. Then Ateneo losing to DLSU when it mattered most also happened? Ahh, I get it, Black coached Franz in SMB before, maybe, pinagbigyan siya ni Black.. Galing mong mag-insinuate, bro.. And I know if you are reading this, you know who you are.. Atenista ka ba? Sa tingin ko hindi eh.. Hindi ganyan mag-isip ang isang Atenista..

As I've said, what Rico did was wrong, and I blame him for this tough loss..

But to make generalizing statements about La Sallistas is just plain wrong.. Eh ano ngayon kung mayabang si Rico.. Lahat kami mayabang? If I say that Enrico Villanueva is also mayabang, does that mean all Atenistas are.. And humility is the mother of all virtues but players from other schools even from Ateneo are not perfect.. And some are even plain assholes..

I hate Rico, Cardona and especially Yeo.. I condemn their actions.. Even though La Sallista ako.. I give credit where credit is due.. Atenistas who are just full of pride and kaangasan in this thread should wake up.. You are winners this year but in this past decade how many times have you won the title.. 2? Pumaren and his boys are winners.. Black just won one time.. And he is now all the way better than Franz? Sheesh! Ateneo should celebrate kasi nga bihira sila manalo.. Let them be.. Let some of them jeer us.. Make even sweeping statements..

What more after the game, di ba? It was a tough loss for Pumaren's squad, and accepting the 2nd place trophy accompanied by jeers and boos from the crowd would make any person's heart falter.. Is that cowardice? IMO, its not.. Its pride.. And I understand them..

I am still congratulating Ateneo.. I respect their championship.. Heck! I studied my Masterals in Ateneo, therefore, I believe in their system.. But to jeer and to push while we are down, is just plain un-Atenean.. Again, real Ateneans do not push while the opponent is down, they are "men for others.." They actually lift the spirits of their fallen enemy to fight another great battle in another time..

    ANIMO!!!!

The ADMU crowd and team has shown the utmost respect for each and everyone of their opponents this season. Baka lang alam nila mas malakas team nila kaya malkas loob nila, pero after each and every game the team has stayed on the court while their opponents are singing their alma mater as a sign of respect. Kung mag boo ang crowd and players of the other school, well and good you get to show the world that they are not worthy champions. By not DLSU representatives not showing up they get to show the rest of the world that they are not worthy of being runners-up.

  3. I have heard from MMA guys, my cousin trained in a Gracie run gym in Hawaii for 1 week, that boxing is more dangerous than MMA as a long term sport.

In MMA you can grapple to rest AND the most important thing is you can tap out anytime. In boxing if you get sustained blows to your skull over a 12 round fight you can do more damage to the brain than a one time knockout punch without gloves in a MMA fight.

  4. AK just needs to play a bit more agressive. Has anyone noticed he doesn't drive as hard to the hole ever since his injury. Scared perhaps? He does enough intangibles and enough flexibility to play 3 positions to be a great 4th man in the line up.

  5. Like I said in the Most Improved Player thread 2 months ago. It will be Okur.

    Too many clutch plays.

Arenas is in the same boat, Arenas has already being an All Star working agaisnt him in the Most Improved Player category.

  6. Strange I can seem to find the edit feature.

    Just to add.

Peep Tom.....We know your passion for the game. It's all good.

If you make a petition to the PBA board that Guiao's suspension is not long enough. I'll sign it.

  7. In my rush I misnamed the teams. I apologize to the teams I misnamed.

You Boo'ed me first. I was expressing that I didn't like what Guiao did even though I'm a Red Bull fan. I could've have easily just said Boo back. pero parang larong bata lang yun parang ang unang mapikon.... talo.

So I asked you what your point was for Boooing me. It is more mature and open to a debate. I think that is more respectable than a "rookie" Booing a "veteran" back don't you think?

You were the one who brought up the legallity of the trade as detemined by the PBA and we should abide by that. I was just countering that using the "PBA has authority to determine" argument the PBA is the only authority allowed to sanction players and we should abide by that as well. In fact that is a moot argument because neither of us have the cpacity to influence any sanctions handed out by the PBA.

If you wanted to discuss it on merits oustide legallity, both the trades and ths sanctions, we could easily formulate our points on that.

However if you want to use legallity as a focal point the you have to be consistent and say the punishments handed out by the PBA are the legal effects of the players' actions.

    To wit:

    The trades>

Were the trades legal, yes...were they controversial, yes.

The actions of the players have been rough, they have been meted out punishment>

Were the punishments legal, yes...were they appropriate, some were not.

  8. You do have the right so say what you want. So do I.

What does having a lower post count have to do with a debate? Maybe we should just have a popularity contest or an election or even dick measuring contest if that is the case. Maybe I should run up my post count with "wow", and a few emoticons just to make myself better or "as good as you"?

You "Boo'ed" me first when I expressed my opnion about Guaio incident and just mentioned I'm a Red Bull fan. I asked you why and the discussion went on. I have never said I don't want to hear things. Maybe it is you who don't want to hear that not everyone is anti-Red Bull, and/or pro-SMB. I don't have anything against SMB.

    Guiao was punished/suspended right?

I don't agree with the suspension. It was however given by the same authority that authorized the SMB/Coca Cola/Ginebra trades so by your definition it should be ok since it was issued "legally".

Was the suspension legal, yes? Was it appropriate or equitable, I don't think so. IMHO it was way too light.

You choose the avenue of "being legal" to discuss. So let's stick to that.

  9. Well the league is also in charge of sanctioning players and coaches for their actions right?

So leave the sanctioning up to Eala for the RB rough stuff.

By the way I think he was too light on Guiao on this incident.

    Understand that as well "boy"?

  10.

FYI I have been an SMB fan since their Royal True Orange days. ......

Theres no class in that organization if you call them an organization. Red Bullshit Barumbados BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

In that case BOOOOOOOOO to your organization who tried to manipulate the league by "trading" some players to build up the rosters of their teams while leaving one high and dry.

There is no class in that either.

  11. Eugene Tejada was an unfortunate incident. There will always be hard fouls. The PBA has always been known as a rough league here and abroad.

The Commish takes a look at the circumstances and determines the consequences. Punishment has been deservedly handed out to a lot of players during Eala's stint. I'm sure Guiao will be punished more than the 1 game he got last time.

Red Bull will always have their share of controversy because they play hard. If you take a look they take their share of shots as well as they dish it out but it is part of basketball.

Unless you just want to stay behind the 3 point line the whole time or play high school type physical basketball.

These are grown professional men. They can handle themselves.

  12. Oh a RB fan, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    Your point is?

If you watched PBA basketball from the beginning until about the early-mid 90's this rough stuff of Red Bull is nothing.

I don't condone the actions of Guiao. Like I said he should be suspended for the rest of the season. But as long as you play hard and don't throw punches and you are fine playing this contact sport. I like the fact that RB overachieves each and every time out. I'd rather play the way they do than the flopping Tubid did all throughout the game against Ginebra. That is even more disgusting for me.

The roughest team in the PBA for the past 20 years has had the most fans. I wasn't a fan of Ginebra/Anejo.

  13. I've been with globe since day 1. 1993 kami pa lang ng tatay pati nanay ko ang nagtetext.

I've been unhappy on quite a number of occassions. Hirap lang I have to ask my wife, my daughter, her yaya, my driver, my secretary, my dad, mom, brother and sisiters to switch.

Globe has been declining so bad in the past 2-3 years. They better get their act together.
