  1. ^^ Dont forget to hang out in Xintiandi! :) Parang little Europe. Hehe. Nice restos and bars. :)

Thanks for reply Ms. Chiq... unfortunately I was not able to log on to MTC anymore before we left so I wasn't able to check out Xintiandi... Maybe next time...

    BTW... nice sig!

  2. Planning to go to Batangas with a friend...

Saan kaya maganda? Yung madaling puntahan, wala masyadong traffic (para madaling pumunta at umuwi) and a decent/clean beach? Was thinking Nasugbu... Anilao ba ilang hours papunta? How about punta fuego?

  3. We're planning to go to either Shanghai or Beijing mid-november. Ask ko lang, gaano kaya katagal i-process ung Chinese visa sa Manila? Kasi we'll just stay sa Manila for few days e kaya I cannot afford to apply a visa kung it will take more than a week pa.

We have a guy here in our office who processes our visas. From what I know, normal processing for single entry visas to China takes 4 working days and costs about PHP1,400. But there is also 2-day and 1-day processing which costs PHP3,100 (for 1-day).

I'll also be in Shanghai from 20-24 December. I hope you can give me some tips when you get back from your trip. Balak sana namin pumunta din ng Beijing kaya lang sayang ang oras dahil 12 hours yata ang biyahe by train. Baka naman you can find out the rates for the new "bullet train". Balita namin 5 hours lang daw pero mahal.

    Ingat bro.

  4. p.s. dont forget to swing by Paris Disneyland. its great! the disney hotels are very reasonable too =) the feel of paris disney is definitely different from LA and florida. somehow its darker and abit more stylish, but disney is disney!!

Its probably because I haven't been to Disney in LA for almost a decade now and never been to Florida. But last year we went to Disney in Paris and it didn't feel any different from LA. Except of course there were admittedly fewer rides, but at least there had the more "popular/classic" rides and attractions. But like you said, Disney is Disney.... my wife and I were really tired that day.... but my son never lost his enthusiasm from the time the park opened to the time they were about to close.

  5. All all Mtc buddies, I am a local singaporean but have lived in Manila for the past 4 years. From my point of view, the best local food and cheapest is neither in Orchard, Tanglin...etc it is usually in the neighcourhood mall such as Tampines Mall, Northpoint, West Mall... all this are situated at the outskirt of Singapore...

Train ride from Orchard to any of this places are very very accessible. In Singapore, most of the neighbourhood malls are located right at the doorstep of MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), parang LRT and MRT in Manila. And the fare is around $2-$3 each ride.

As for chicken rice, try out Boon Tiong Kee at Balestier road or any other branch, best chicken rice in town. Local delicacy are located in the neighbourhood area too. Its call the coffee shop or hawker centre.

For those who needs more info on Singapore travel, you can drop me an email at mkluv2mi@yahoo.com.sg

    Have fun

    Hi!

I was in Singapore last year for only a few hours. But I got a taste of chicken rice. It was already good, but I would like to taste your recommendation. I'll be there in a couple of weeks, but again only for the weekend. Can you give me directions to Boon Tiong Kee. Thanks in advance.

  6. Boss Atong alam ko nagawi ka na ng Bacolod,

Have you ever tried the Napoleones and Butter Scotch

from Quan? Or the Napoleones at Roli's?

I just think that Napoleones is one of the best kept secrets

of Bacolod when it comes to desserts that is not shared to

    those in the Big City.

I was in Bacolod early this year and stayed in L' Fisher. There was a shop right beside it with really yummy cakes and desserts. Sayang nag lang di puwedeng iuwi sa Manila yung Ice cream cakes nila....

  7. yup yup...as long as it is fresh, clean and tender!  :thumbsupsmiley:

anyway..yeah..Old Spaghetti House might be worth to visit one of these days. Hmmm where is La Grotta?? care to tell me where? :P lucky for you..very convenient to visit the place. Go and visit..check on their pasta and let me know. ;)

To be sure you don't waste your time looking for it, maybe I should accompany you there. Then you could tell me first hand what you think of the place and their pasta. ;) I think I also had their Arribiatta pasta. I remember it was OK too.

  8. yeah..it is always nice to have somebody around to appreciate your pasta or any kind of food. :) yeah...not much of a meat eater..oh well..it depends on what kind of meat is being served...  :boo:

I havent tried Old Spaghetti Factory here and the La Grotta. hmmm will try one of these days and will let the forum know.. :)

Yup, I agree. Meat is not so bad. As long as its fresh, clean and tender.

Countrystyle corrected me a bit earlier because its actually the Old Spaghetti "HOUSE" so I guess it is a different place. But it may be worth a visit. In La Grotta, I remember ordering Angel hair pasta with a cream based sauce with truffles (supposedly). I personally like it here. Plus, its practically just an elevator ride away for me.

  9. hi chiliman ... hmmm there is no out of way when you want it  ;)  like what an old saying goes...if there's a will..there's a PASTA!!! heheheh  :boo: hmmm..if your problem is that you have no one to show you the way...hmmmmm...i think i can show you the way..kaya lang... your treat!  :P

i haven't been to Cafe Go-go's....i am not found of meat sauce...i am more of a fresh sundried tomato, pesto or seafood with tomato pasta lover...meat...hmmm so-so. :P

hi Mr Atong Ang -- thanks for the compliment.   I havent been to mama tina...will try that one of these days...

speaking of pasta...one place i enjoyed my pasta is in the US -- THE OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY in Portland, Oregon. i just love their SHRIMP NEWBURG

Why not! Its a lot more enjoyable to eat good pasta (or just any type of food for that matter) if your with someone.

Hmmm... not much of a meat eater...

Anyway, driving around Salcedo Village the other night, I saw an "Old Spaghetti Factory" along Valero Street. Although I'm not sure if its the same.

Also the name of the Italian restaurant along Herrera St., Legaspi Village is "La Grotta".

  10. OT na! :P think think mr chiliman. :)

speaking of pasta again...try the one along adriatico street... COSA NOSTRA!

Well, its a bit out of my way, but what are your recommendations at COSA NOSTRA?

Problem is, I have no one to show me the way...

Cafe Go-go's meat sauce is not so bad either. Reminds me of spaghetti from sometime when I was a bit younger, but not exactly lutong bahay.

  11. Can someone give a field report on

    WA HING or WAHING ...?

This is somewhere in Benavidez .............

The owner is a chef from HK who married a local...

Appreciate your shared info....  on Food and getting there

I'm no expert on chinese restaurants but I do like this place.

I think its WA YING (but also not so sure). If you know how to get to Ongpin St. you're already half way there...

Once you cross the bridge turn left on the next street. Nasa corner yata nito ay Anson's and tapat nung President's restaurant (yung malaki). Then turn right on the next street. I think its the first establishment on your right. (After the vacant (or parking?) lot) You can park on either side of the street. I think its open from 7am to 2am the next morning. This is one thing I like about this place, if at 1am you suddenly have a craving for dimsum, you have somewhere to go that's reasonably priced.

As for the food, I like their Siomai, kinda reminds me of Superbowl, but for only P45 (4 pieces na yun). Same with their Hakaw, Chicken feet and Butchi too. Marami namang choices (noodle soups, rice toppings, etc.), so I guess you should be able to find something you like.

  12. jolly jeep sa rada st., legaspi village makati, mi number pa per order. pwedeng extra spicy, kumpleto or basic lang.

Oo nga! Alam ko ito. Halos tanaw na ito sa building namin. Sarap niyang ulam. Minsam 1pm pa lang ubos na ang sisig dito. Di ko pa nga lang nasusubukan pang pulutan.

OK din sa Dencio's, but I ate at the Food Choices of Glorietta 4, its not the same as when its served in their restaurants though.

  13. hi chiliman.... the place within Don Bosco is AMICI...it is actually located along pasay road. For the one in Rufino St., i am not sure..but there is one in Salcedo Village .. I just forgot the street..the street is parallel to Amorsolo..the name is AMOROMA....this is a branch of the AMOROMA resto along Alabang-Zapote road....AUTHENTIC ANG PASTA to the max!

Thanks for the info Ms. Cutie. Seems like you know the Legaspi and Salcedo villages very well. Maybe we might see each other in one of these places sonner or later. Thanks again.

  14. I know there a shop that sells, Banana Rep, Gap & Old Navy on the 5th floor of Shangri-La Plaza. I think its near the elevator.

Sorry, to get back on the topic, I think I'm a borderlin shopping addict (or maybe just in the denial stage). I do love to look for bargains whether in the malls, tiangges or even in Divisoria. Just an example, I bought 2 pairs of soccer shoes and I played only once this year. Hopefully I can play this month so I can use the other one. hehehe

  15. guys need your help. where can I find boutiques selling banana rep, gap, RL, aeropastle, tommy hilfiger sa manila. kindly indicate the kung saang malls sila. tnx in advance. i used to shop at
