This is a nice thread, lots of info for me to use. I've recently returned to this hobby after a long absence. I bought a Merkava mkIII 1/35 scale from Academy as my first project in years. I've been reading a lot about this tank and have grown to admire it for it's looks design and it's capabilities (considering it was made by the Israelis at a time when they had very little experience in designing something like this).

So far I'm still in the "planning" stage but I've noted some things about Academy's model:

-The Upper and Lower hull don't meet exactly (well I can't expect every model to be perfect).

-The Ball and Chain protection used by the Merkava at the rear of the turret are slightly out of scale and quite difficult to install.

-The Main Gun's elevation is fixed (yeah, I'm one of those guys who like to "play" after it's built!)

-The Decals look at bit too thick to apply on the sideskirts.

These matters aside, I love the model. It's something to do when I have time to spare and is a great way for me to relive stress. Currently I'm looking for a reasonably priced airspray set andmy research is still on-going.

When I'm done, I'll post some pix on this thread. :cool:

sometimes there are too many users, yun ang napapansin ko, or yung server medyo bumabagal. usually when I try to login a site na alam ko maraming gumagamit hindi ako mapasok. I've tried reloading the browser, usually this works but not all the time.

compared to IE mas gusto ko pa rin ang firefox. it's stable and doesn't have the security issues of IE...well at least for now :headsetsmiley:

firefox user, works great especially after tweaking it. gusto ko pag nagdownload ako, nakikita ko yung rate and what I have got so I don't download the same thing twice. :cool: :headsetsmiley:

At home dial-up lang using pre-paid cards. mura na wala pang contract (and just as slow for less).

vcd/dvd combo drive

14 inch screen

2 usb ports no firewire

I got it thru my office, so im paying for it every month. it's not the best, but it works well especially for spreadsheets and word documents. Pretty good for starcraft too. My only wish was that the sstock battery would last longer than the 2.5 hours.

Currently i'm looking to add more memory and get a card reader for it. :cool:

For those who live in the Tomas Morato area or at least within close proximity, there is this coffee shop called Bang Coffe (yup that's the name!) where you can surf wirelessly for free. the most yoou would need to pay for is a hundred pesos per hour if you plug your laptop to recharge it.

and before I forget the prices for their drinks are relatively cheap compared to that of Starbucks and Seattles.
