    Hardy Herion 8.04 is out, and I have kubuntu - ganda ng display.

    Right then ubuntulite based from HH - ano to prang pde alternative sa knoppix.

     

    Problems sa GG - device issues lang. Applications wla masyado, matagal lang talaga ang update

     

    If people wanna try playing WWIII on linux, still EE package dahil sa Ubuntu Ultimate release well deployed ang wine games. May kalakihan lang kaya hirap ma-download.

    regarding the same off-site server...

     

    is it possible to do a fresh remote install of ubuntu?

    It's possible. How?

    I-mount ang installer from remote server hehe

    Maraming issue ang pwede mangyayari, and am letting the gurus to Bring Them On!

     

    My complex conceptions of the question:

    1. The target unit has a raw hardisk:

     

    Do pxelinux

    1st The server is enabled to broadcast dhcp reaching clients

    2nd Get server a tftpboot ready with your design

    I haven't tried booting from lan/Legacy lan (am still curious about), so suggesting...

    3rd Etherboot - not boot from lan but rather get boot data from lan. So kelangan parin cd, diskette o kaya program prom sa NIC

    Tftpboot as designed contains the installation program itself. Then just run setup; kaya kaya?

    4th Or rather, mount the installation source path and then run setup.

    May lamang tatakbo slackware installation, it runs on most machine konti hardware issues na aasikasuhin. At dba meron itong manual na manual na interface pati packages pwede madetalye - which is a must do practice and best for users to familiarize gnu-linux hehe

     

    2. Remote, like www:

    1st thing is I don't know hehe try same concept above

     

     

    May isa pang paraan pero related lang ng konti:

    1st Generate an image of a fresh installation of Ubuntu saved on the server

    2nd On the target unit, import restoration of image content to target unit's harddrive with specs equivalent to the image source's unit

    Just DL-ed Gutsy Gibbon iso from taiwan yesterday (sa office hehe mabilis - maluwag't wlang kaagaw sa bwidth, next Gutsy-server iso naman :evil: )

     

    My concerns on GG: Wazup? have you guys experienced any problem with GG already. Any new feature or matter that should attend to? What are the 'diff's? and what do the new kernel exhibit?

     

    At my work, we just deployed Feisty to various users. And now I intend to skip Feisty and have Gutsy already for further deployments. Too bad, I might as well oblige myself to upgrade the earlier 'Feisties' :cry:

     

    I'll post my fr's soon. Hoping to come-up with a good distro here

    Is it stable already? and I'm using a dial-up, hwaa!!! :boo:

    Another, got an obstacle regarding deb-ph.ubuntu repo host - sometimes I get 'install-stalls' tends to try every after 5 mins.

     

    Are there other 'not too remote' sources you guys use other than CDs? or I might try tw.ubuntu, hehe :lol:

    i was looking for an automated solution where the backup is done regularly.

    How regular, and how much are you backing-up?

     

    Try Nitix if you want a hot-swap solution

    Or browse around sourceforge for a cool script. (It was tempting to search one for the post)

     

    Or you may, BASH!:

    1! do 'dd' or cp -r, tar, or

    2! just update a pre backed-up copy with use of touch, diff, "logs sniff", >-cat-grep, ...Oh yes, and

    3! svn, csv, bzr (what else???)

    4! or just image copy

     

    all triggered using the clock or a coffee-with-mug maker HA!

    hehe...wonder if the gods went through this? :wacko:

    anyway ano bang hardened pwede ko matry na hardened linux for desktop n server at security software for linux.

    mag-Nitix ka. Gamit VPN, extra: automated ang up ng downed server, dhcp nga lang.

     

    Ususally did: gawa ka ng dummy na linux naka-chroot lang tapos assign ka ibang port mo para sa access sa tunay.

    Divorce In The Philippines

    I believe that once there has the existence of Divorce as an option, we will have a new conception for marriage or "married life".

     

    This new derived concept will influence actions for people who are deciding to marry or not. Good thing is, people will surely think it over (, will they?)

     

    The new brave concept will first break active marriages into a sense of insecurity.

     

    Next is disrespect toward marriage in the Philippines to be exhibited by other cultures (like muslims and jews), by our old folks, by the church, and a bit by us (as we compare it from the latter concept, :blink: nah!).

     

    And then we experience the transition of culture: couples marry at their late 20's, all women have their right to bare a child - single motherhood, kids and parents gap 30 years, parents separate - leave 1 child, the nation lacks manpower - hire chinese, yes to gay marriage... :huh:

     

    Can we cross the bridge when we get there?
