  1. Apparently, Blah blah blah.

Aquino ignored the claim of Sultan of Sulu when he initiated the peace initiative in Mindanao sponsored and witnessed by high officials of both Malaysia and Britain. Never in the history of this Republic have we been closest to the British than under Noynoy. If there is anyone to be blamed for this conflict which originated from the wish of the Sultanate to open discussions of their claim because they had been completely IGNORED, then it is this administration.

  2. so Malaysia is now bombing Sabah. it'll be interesting to see the US weigh in on this, because technically (on paper) Sabah belongs to the Philippines, and the US is required to defend us.

if Malaysia says Sabah is theirs because they've had it for 25 years, and the world agrees with this, can other parts of the world now belong to the people who occupy it...such as...islands in the Spratlys?

Knowing what is happening in Mindanao. this struggle may last for generations. Good luck to Malaysia.

Malaysia is practicing a power play that is more dirty and more violent than the Marcos years. Apparently, the dissent of Sultan of Sulu's was not violent as it was noisy. The Malaysians made a huge mistake of attacking the group inside private property. The commandos were military trained but they killed civilians. Among the first casualties were the wife of the owner of the property who was hosting some members of the Royal family.

Aquino is attempting to prevent involvement despite the fact that his Mindanao initiative were witnessed by British and Malaysian authorities. He is demonstrating to the world that he cannot defend Filipinos and would remain loyal to his perceived sponsors despite poor and inhuman treatment. The Aquinos would not be in power now if they did not condemn the military rule of Marcos. Yet what is happening in Sabah now is many times worse than what Marcos ever did.

  3. Why wouldn't China lend to the biggest economy in the world? I mean if a country has a credit rating of AA++(excellent), you would still lend to it, knowing that that country can pay you back. The credit rating of the US government used to be AAA(outstanding), which is the highest credit rating Standard and Poors can give, but has since been downgraded to AA++, which is still a couple of notches higher than the lowest investment grade rating of BBB-. Investment grade means a bond rating that is low risk in terms of default as per Investopedia. Actually, I know this but I'm just giving you a reference.

    [/size]

What year did China lend to the US when it was still a third world country?

The world system is shaky and you know what? Bankers worldwide have made an outstanding blunder. The collapse of the market started from the bankruptcy of grade AAA financial houses. Thus the credit rating system that they use and depend on is likely unreliable.

We have to be extra careful since we just got a ratings upgrade. In Ireland, the locals lost control of borrowings and the quality of leverage suffered in the name of socialism. Suddenly, workers are allowed to accumulate goods and services on credit. However, they are able to trace the bad economics from ostentatious projects made by foreign developers which failed to sell. These were dumped into the market which enjoyed artificial prosperity. In the long run. the moment the industries became less competitive and sources of income dried up, the model collapsed and it became the responsibility of government to COLLECT payment for the losses from its citizens.

No wonder, the ability to demand and collect TAXES from citizens is the main factor before we got the ratings upgrade. But let us look at real issue which is the way government is spending tax money and using the extra credit that would accumulate debt for each and every Filipino.

  4. Wasn't Madame Mao a member of the GAng of Four? As far as I can recall, she wasn't executed but imprisoned for life. Speaking of totalitarian regimes, did you see the news article showing a sign at a restaurant in Beijing which says: "This shop does not receive The Japanese The Philippines, The Vietnamese And dog." Is it possible that the owner of this restaurant wrote and posted ths sign on his own volition or was this the idea of the Chinese government. When I was in HK in January, I noticed lots of signs condemning the Falun Gong as an evil organization. The posters were written in such poor English I had to conclude that someone from the Chinese government was responsible. Hong Kong Chinese are well educated and wouldn't write this poorly.

Anyway, it was clearly propaganda against the Falun Gong whom the Chinese leaders are afraid of because of their huge numbers.

Communism happens due to extreme poverty, deprivation and want. Had society been more human, I do not feel there will be a need for communism at all. Putting down people into the level of animals is exactly what communism has become.

Moreover, China got a cultural revolution which they tout as Re-Education. Thus, education is not the issue here but knowledge of the truth. A person living in FREEDOM understands he got the right to refuse poor information. In the meantime, oppressive societies normally impose ideas and punish those who refuse to chew and swallow false ideas. China was never successful with propaganda and Cultural Revolution. The prosperity and the technology it today claims to have cannot be possible without the ton of foreign investments lured by penny cheap wages that undermine, if not undercut the world-wide labor union movement. Once China turns against the collective foreign investment that feeds its economic success, it would only be a matter of time before we see destruction and weakness of its frail and very limited capability.

  5. Well that's my opinion too. China has gained so much in terms of economic prosperity, international esteem and respect in the past 20 years. Is it going to throw all that away in exchange for domination of the Spratlys? If you were the head of China's government would you risk losing all that for the Spratlys?

It is more likely to undergo a structural shake up like what happened to the purging of its hardcore leaders when the Gang of Four was executed. Totalitarian regimes are suppressed societies and if we are feeling pressure and threat, the Chinese citizens feel these even more. The failing regime of Mao led to the death of many Chinese. This is true also in communist Cambodia.

The pattern of deceit and mass executions are evident in totalitarian regimes. During World War 2, Stalin executed those closest to him, even his wife, in order to consolidate power. The USSR had more casualties than what the combined Allied forces suffered plus the victims of the holocaust.

Hitler was no different. The defeat of the Germans in USSR was a tightly held military secret which was fiercely concealed by propaganda. In the end, the German military generals connived to rid of Hitler and his blunders but the Gestapo acted to eliminate the threat to Hitler and purged the best and the brightest German military officers.

  7. The real issue here is our officials are deeply divided. There is no clear cut policy. Even the Chinese Envoy during the start of Noynoy's term publicly proclaimed that promises have been broken and the president's word does not have integrity.

Maybe what Filipinos should be doing today is simply to collate the headline news and stop allowing media/information controls to erase the facts to SHORTEN our memory.

What PROMISES were given by Noynoy to China? He did sit down with Chinese officials and decided on the Spratly issue. The bilateral decision by China and the Philippines summon the call for ASEAN nations to mobilize a contigent military force as resistance to the act of taking over the disputed islands. It also made the US State Secretary steadfast in her duty to both APEC and Asean groups to protect the region from Chinese expansionist activities by revising the VFA and perhaps altering the protocol or judgment call for military action.

There is also recent crack in Senate unity which stems from Sen Enrile revelations about Sen Trillanes' secret missions to China as negotiator for Noynoy. The Senate as a separate and independent body has been compromised by Sen Trillanes' act of accepting missions fit for a Cabinet Secretary instead. Such secret and unofficial moves not only confuses all the parties concerned but demoralizes the DFA in its effort to resist FALSE and misleading claims by China.

Today the DFA is boldly using multilateral UN settlement to calm all parties but it does not disclose the damage done by earlier negotiations or the unnecessary trips of Senator Trillanes who got no authority to decide on behalf of the State. One of the chief officials that Noynoy appointed to study the matter openly admitted on TV that he lived in China for sometime and knew about the territorial claims gap. According to this lawyer, China base its map on the CLAIM of the Nationalists that went into the island of Formosa and establish the Republic of Taiwan. But COMMON SENSE would tell us that China went through as FAILED cultural revolution which is based on lies and preposterous propaganda. This Cultural Revolution is an abject failure and its officers were in fact executed as traitors aka Gang of Four after the death of Chairman Mao. Moreover even the Taiwanese today refuses to accept deals of unification with the mainland and does not consider themselves a part of China so why even entertain the territorial claim which is a HOAX.

  8. You cannot expect an NPA yearning for communism to understand democracy. Even Marcos during EDSA 1 did not allow the military under Fabian Ver to annihilate the street protest crowd. In contrast, China did not blink when the tanks run over student activists. Look what happened in Tienanmen Square. I guess this alignment with China is truly anti-Filipino People Power more than anything else.

  9. While the scenario you painted of civil war is not beyond the realm of possibility, the likelihood of it happening is remote.

If the secession happens on all 50 states, then it is a statement of solidarity AGAINST being asked by the Federal Government to pay taxes for the mindless expenditures to prevent CHANGE - particularly climate change.

Change is inevitable, and weather has always been fickle. Why do we fear Climate Change? If climate is a statistical representation of weather over a period of time, then like weather, it can also be fickle. Climate change is an absurd issue that has no solution since climate has always been changing or is destined to change completely.

People who got a grasp of science must agree unanimously that changes shaped the world we live in and without change, there can be no life. People who understand what living means in the physical world ought to anticipate death and an end to whatever started. There is no way it can be altered. Be it in geology, biology, chemistry or astronomy living things are never permanent and cycle itself. A star is born while another dies or fades on the same day.

  10. Your statement was that all 50 states had already filed for secession and no such thing has happened, just because 0.02% of the population (700K out of 316M) was protesting you are assuming that this has already happened. I cannot verify something that only exists in your imagination. So prove it or move on.

5 trillion dollars is a lot of debt, much of it was incurred because of health care.

You can try using the link before your post. I swear Yahoo News count was 50 when Donald Trump criticized Obama disowning him as a Harvard grad and saying that the USA had to start anew, complaining of what happened (Obama's reelection news) put everything back to where USA started.

Sorry but I use an awkward touch screen ipad and find it complicated to supply any links to help you keep in touch.

  11. interesting. i knew texas had filed for secession recently, but 50 states? that is a message, though i doubt that even puts a kink in this administration's plans.

Can you tell us exactly what the plan is? The last three SONA's were grasping for the right message yet there were really no plans. FYI, if there is a strategic plan with specific targets, then each succeeding SONA would appear like a report card of the past year's accomplishment or performance gauge of the ADMINISTRATION.

  12. There are people who hopelessly fail to have children due to incompatible genes or failure to sustain the pregnancy due to a physical weakness/structure of the mother. Is miscarriage considered abortion too? An unborn fetus cannot be a symbol of abortion since it may also represent the result of congenital weakness such as a retroverted uterus. But in the USA today, news is birth defects and problems in pregnancy are traceable to the use of artificial contraceptives. Are these considered abortion too if the death of the fetus was due to the use of artificial contraceptives?

  13. mayroon ba rechargable mouse that runs on double AA batteries?

I use a microsoft wireless for my laptop. It needs just one AA battery. If you use Alkaline, it can last up to 3 months. Okay naman since the wheel can scroll sideways also. This is practical if the screen is not too wide and you must adjust sideways to view the whole picture.

  14. I also use the MRT and its not a great experience.

I only pay 14 pesos and its totally ridiculous and no economic sense. Mas mahal pa ang binabayad ko sa tricycycle.

The idea for our city trains is to supplant jeepneys and buses that got serious road traffic management issues. If government won't be careful, that purpose would be defeated. Fare rates are made cheap because it is priced for the wage earners and not for tourists. Increasing an overhead expense of wage-based households drastically lowers the quality of living of these people. Such price hikes also contribute to inflation and devaluation of the peso.
