  1. Masayado atang maaga kung mag-reretire agad si pacman after 2 fights. ang tendency kasi after several years, the urge to return to boxing will be too tempting to resist lalo pa kung hindi rin naman magiging succesful si pacman sa pulitika.

  2. Sheeeesh... what's the interest in this fight (if ever it happens again)? CONVINCING KOCK-OUT panalo ni Pretty Boy. Unlike the Pacquiao-Morales fight 1, or the Pacquiao-Marquez fight 1 ... sige na pati yung 2, merong debate/question. I don't think so. Recession pa rin sa US and Europe. Only the diehard fans would part with their hard-earned cash for this one.

  3. In terms of fans worldwide, mas madami talagang fans si Pacquiao baka 8/2 or 9/1 ang ratio.

May report na nagkasundo na sa 52/48 at sa saturday(manila time) daw nila annouce but for now lets wait and see pa din.

  4. GO FOR IT MANNY. DEMAND FOR THE MOON! Why? He knocked the crap out of Hatton.

Other options Soto & Casamayor? tsk tsk tsk. <_< Si Valero may laban na din

  6. C'mon not common... What do you mean by how many times?

    Ayoko lang ng GREEDY...

buohin mo na prof come on hehehehe

  8. Sabi ni Arum pag di matuloy yung kay hatton, baka si Humberto Sotto na lang ang kalabanin ni Manny for a guaranteed $2 Million. Kahit pa 90-10 hatian nila in favor of manny sigurado akong walang gusto makapanood ng laban na ito

From atleast $15M to $2M baka magkagalit galit niyan sila Arum, Roach at Pacman at mga abogado niya.

Estimate kasi nila $60M ang kikitain minus tax & other cuts = $15M each

Lets wait and see na lang but by demanding so much medyo matu turn off sa kanya mga foreign boxing fans

  9. so far ok naman si Arum

Correct me if i'm wrong pero ito yung mga naging hatian

pacquaio vs marquez 75/25 or 3M/1M

pacquaio vs diaz 80/20 or 4M/1M

pacquaio vs delahoya 35/65 or 11M/20M

basic lang yata yan - not too sure

  10. Well Ill respect your take on this, but do take note na kahit naman saang sport, the athlete who has wore winability gets to be paid more. Parang si Micheal Jordan, kung tutuusin dapat pare pareho lang siya ng sweldo kina rodman at pippen kasi its a team sport nga naman. pareho namang nakakahatak ng crowd si rodman at jordan nung nasa isang team sila. Pero in terms of skills and achievement malayo agwat nila so malayo din agwat ng sweldo nila.

“Pacquiao is a great fighter, a great draw and is recognized as the pound-for-pound number one, but Hatton is also a unique fighter who will bring UK TV money, an army of British fans and so in terms of where the money will come from, Ricky Hatton is bringing the lion’s share.”

Williams pointed out that although Pacquiao is “massive in the Philippines, thousands of Filipinos aren’t going to travel to Las Vegas or pay to watch it on pay-per-view.”

Bottomline : Maraming perang dadalhin si Hatton kaya fair din yung hatian anyway nagkasundo na daw according to djrs

Ang malaking tanong dito, tama ba yung negotiations na ginagawa and are they really giving pacquiao a good advice on this one. As of this point its too early to tell.

  13. Recent report

Galit na si Arum at Roach sa mga bumubulong kay Pacquiao, 50-50 daw or No Fight. Napahiya na si Arum

And to make it even more difficult for the parties involved to find a win-win solution, Top Rank chief Bob Arum has told Pacquiao’s lawyer, Franklin Gacal, that he can’t do anything more to change the 50-50 sharing scheme that was imposed by Hatton and Golden Boy Promotions (GBP).

"He (Arum) can’t move the figures," Gacal said yesterday after a long-distance conversation with the Hall of Fame promoter.

  14. Team Pacquiao may abandon Hatton fight

    January 14, 2009 03:02:00

    Cedelf P. Tupas

    Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines—The impasse over the sharing of the fight purse has put the May 2 Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton showdown in Las Vegas in jeopardy.

The possibility of a cancellation surfaced Monday, after Pacquiao’s lawyer, Franklin Gacal, hinted that they will look for another opponent if the Filipino hero fails to get a 60 percent share for the fight.

The Hatton camp remains adamant of a 50-50 split, which it had verbally agreed to with Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.

Gacal said Arum is aware of Pacquiao’s opposition to the terms.

“We have informed Bob Arum that we are not signing the contract,” Gacal said in an interview with ABS-CBN.

“Manny is not content with what was laid on the table. If the figures won’t move, we will look for another [challenger].”

Pacquiao is coming off the biggest victory of his career—an eighth-round technical knockout of Oscar De La Hoya, the sport’s biggest draw, last Dec. 6.

In giving his blessing to a 50-50 split, Arum attributed Hatton’s huge British fan following which he said would contribute heavily to fight revenues.

“We might do a million homes on pay-per-view in England,” Arum said. “You have to give Hatton some credit for what he brings to the table.”

“We already have a verbal agreement from Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum that it would be 50-50 split for the contest,” Hatton’s lawyer, Gareth Williams told the British newspaper Daily Telegraph.

The purse stalemate isn’t the first time a snag has hit the 140-lb battle. Hatton’s camp had earlier insisted on holding the fight at London’s Wembley Stadium.

  15. Besides Hatton, the only other boxer who can give Pacman atleast $15M is Mayweather

Other options might be only $5M or lower.

Available Option : Mayweather, Valero, Sotto, Casamayor, Judah and so on

Not available because of upcoming fight : Juan Marquez, Juan Diaz, Nate Campbell, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and so on.

Maybe a 55/45 split would be agreeable for both parties.

Pero bahala na daw si Arum dito

Arum, meanwhile is also trying to secure Manny Pacquiao’s next fight, which is likely to occur on May 2nd against junior welterweight champ Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. “We’re still finalizing it,” Arum said. “Pacquiao went back to the Philippines and now wants more money but we’ll handle that. I’ve been through that before,” he said. Asked if disputes between Top Rank and Hatton promoter Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy could be holding up the super fight, Arum said it wasn’t the case. “It’s not about Schaefer and it’s not about me. You can’t put yourself or your company at the forefront of these negotiations.”

  16. Hatton camp balks at split!

Still no deal on the proposed May 2 Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton super fight in Las Vegas. The Hatton camp is balking at the proposed 60/40 split in favor of Pacquiao, insisting on 50/50. “Ricky brings as much to the table as Manny,” Hatton’s lawyer Gareth Williams told BBC Sport. “Either it is 50/50 or we’ll consider other options. If that’s Manny’s position, there is no fight.” Williams claims Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum originally agreed to a 50/50 split and “as far as we’re concerned we’ve got a binding contract.”

  17. Manny wants 65-35 purse deal vs Hatton

    January 13, 2009 02:35:00

    Roy Luarca

    Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines—There will be no equal sharing of the total prize purse and revenues when Manny Pacquiao tangles with British “Hitman” Ricky Hatton on May 2.

Team Pacquiao is leaning on a 65-35 percent revenue deal in favor of the Filipino ring superstar—or at least 60-40.

If the Hatton camp is not amenable to this deal, Team Pacquiao could junk the British battler for a new opponent willing to agree to the Gen. Santos City southpaw’s terms.

“It’s time for Manny to call the shots,” Wakee Salud, a close friend and confidante of Pacquiao, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer on the phone Monday. “After all, he’s the world’s undisputed best pound-for-pound fighter now.”

Salud said Pacquiao deserves to get the same deal Oscar De La Hoya (65-35 percent) received when the 10-time world champion fought and lost to the Filipino in their “Dream Match” showdown last Dec. 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pacquiao’s lawyer Franklin “Gheng” Gacal bared in a television interview, also Monday, that the fighter is willing to settle for a 60-40 sharing scheme for the Hatton bout, which has already been slated in Las Vegas.

  19. talking about ht and wt difference.

    is this also a circus???

    hahaha

kaya din ni pacman mga yan. :thumbsupsmiley:

  21. Cry! Cry! Baby Marquez! Cry! Cry!

I see no reason kung bakit dapat pagaksayahan pa ng panahon ni Manny is Marquez. Marquez has got a lot to prove, si manny wala na.

Besides after 24 rounds, and being put down by the same guys 4 times, you oughta know who is the better fighter between the two.

Yes Marquez landed more punches than MP in their last bout. The cleaner, and more solid punches were delivered by pacquiao in that 2nd fight.

This is why many believe (myself included), that de la hoya won that fight against mayweather. it was odlh who was putting the pressure on him and pitting him. In terms of the quality of punches ODLH was landing the better ones

Dela Hoya - TKO 9 - Easy Win

David Diaz - TKO 9 - Easy Win

    Marquez - Split Decision (debatable)

Barrera - Unanimous Decision - Easy Win

    Solis - KO 8 - Easy Win

    Morales - KO 3 - Easy Win

Larios - Unanimous Decision - Easy Win

Morales - KO 10 - Ito medyo hirap din sya

    Velaquez - TKO 6 - Easy Win

    Morales - Lost UD
