  1. Frank Mir = Pretty Boy

if he wins the UFC HW GP for the Championship, he'd be the pin-up boy for MMA ^_^

but he got nothing against Big Nog ^_^

yup should mir win he will be the face of ufc.. that was the plan before he got into an accident. he was the heavyweight champ back then....

mir is the underdog against the big nog but he can pull a lot of surprises... being a submission guy himself anything can happen.. one leg, arm or neck and things can be over.. plus he has a decent stand-up.. probably better than that of nog's.

the problem with mir would be his chin and his gas tank... should he not get hit and should he come well conditioned... he actually has a chance of pulling an upset..

my prediction mir via split d in 5 or mir via sub in rd. 1...

great match up--- mir best American heavyweight grappler vs. nog best heavyweight Brazilian grappler

  2. Both lost to chuck hhhhmmmm good card i guess.

Tito ortiz reminds me of my old friend turned foe... he (my old foe) keeps his mouth full with word... ako i don't say a word when i fight... and i fight only those who screw me badly!

tito has a bigger mouth than babalu... tito is also a crybaby... yup tito will be icing on sobral's cake!!!

  3. Ken Shamrock's Lion's den is also at Las Vegas I think. that is where he is based and is one of the trainers. this is one of the first mma gyms/camps.

he also has one in Arizona but he is not in charge there rick roufus and some of ken's boys are running the gym there.. there is also the Lion's den in Dallas being run buy guy metzger..

  4. UP is the worst school... yes University of the Philippines... why?

    1) most of our leaders are graduates of UP... look at our government!!! need i say more?

    2) I agree that those who graduate from UP were smart before they even entered UP and yet this school cant get 100% in board exams.. hell, there are schools who out perform them during exams.. take a look at the track record of UST in most board exams lalo na in the field of medicine, look at the record of San Beda and ateneo in the field of law..hell, kunn parepareho lang ang utak ng mga estudyante na pumapasok sa mga schools kung training wise lang malamang kakainin ng buhay ang UP ng other top schools lalo na yung mga private.. kung ngayun pangalang na they get the best students from high school naout perform na sila on a regular basis by other schools...

    3) napakayayabang... lalo na yung mga taga diliman.. d naman talaga magagaling.. most of my officemates are from UP Dil.. well, d naman talaga sila ganun kagaling parang parepareho lang level.. although i have to admit there are those who are really brilliant... pero napaka yaytabang parin kala nila may monopoly sila ng knowledge...

    4) their basketball team suck!!!

    5) they cultivate a culture of violence parati may frat war etc.

    6) pugad ng mga komonista... this isone of the schools that is heavily infiltrated by elements of said enemies of the state tapos gobyerno nagpapaaral sakanila

  5. I hated the fact that brock won but i anticipated that he would.. randy i think is a little too old for brock. had the randy of two years or even a year ago fought him, things may have been different. Sure brock is big and all but he has very little technique.. ask Frank Mir about it.. speaking of Frank Mir, i think a rematch with brock would provide UFC with a good storyline. after all, mir gave brock his mma loss.

let us go now with the mir and nog matchup.. a match up between two of the best submission fighters in the heavyweight division. as to toughness i would go with big nog, striking.. hard to tell but maybe this should go to mir.. he grew up in a karate environment albeit he is more known for his grappling. nog has pretty decent boxing though.. submission.. about equal here but maybe a slight edge to nog.. mir's subs are all from the back, i cant remember him winning via sub when he is on top. so 2 out of 3 it should be nog. however, as what we have seen Mir have pulled a lot of surprises in his career.. remember that arm braking sub he pulled against silva for the belt and the sub he pulled against brock.. who knows maybe nog would get caught as well.. I hope Mir wins though.. i would be happy seeing him beat brock again.

as regards a possible match up with brock.. either miror or nog would give brock problems only because of their subs. one dimension in MMA that randy did not master. one mistake from brock and it would be over plus of course im pretty sure either of the two would prepare better to counter brock's size.. and they are both bigger than randy and possibly better suited to face brock. the problem with the randy matchup is that randy's strength was neutralized by brock, that is, his wrestling base.. against either mir or nog wrestling wont be much of an issue both guys would gladly pull lesnar to their guard and pull out some nasty subs.. and both have better than average striking..

what about napo.. the guy became bigger... can't wait for him to face brock as well.. heavy hands and feet.. remember cro cop, balck belt bjj and improving take down defense.. this is a matchup brock would possibly, more likely not win...

No need for another division.. technique will bring down size.. its just that brock was a bad match up for randy.. both wrestlers.. had you placed arlovski or barnett against lesnar... lesnar would have been in great trouble..

  6. can't wait to see thiago alves vs. lyoto machida, pustahan puro takbo at ilag na nman to si machida hehehehe kakairita tlga style ni machida, sana manalo si alves :D

I'm sorry but i can't help but react to this comment. Only those who are ignorant with MMA would find machida's style "kakairita." The guy has solid technique AND hindi sya puro takbo.. its just that he is more of a counter puncher.. he gives his opponents major damage without getting hit in return. no offense dude but if you want to see someone na "puro takbo" go watch khalib starnes and if you want a brawl you have no business watching MMA where technique is given importance. if you want a brawl go watch Kimbo or better yet TNA or WWE im sure you will like the style of fighting there. hey no offense just a piece of my mind.

  7. hindi overrated si pat ewing sr. as properly pointed out he took the knicks to elite status from being punching bags.. year in and year out contender ang knicks.. too bad he played during the MJ years... the knicks was at its best during the 90s when the bulls ran over them thanks to MJ... kung wala si Jordan malamang nag champion to... consistent 20-10 si pat ewing, victim lang din siguro sya ng bad luck... remember the time when they were favored to win during playoffs.. according to many they have the strongest lineup... nagkaron ng brawl against miami... thanks to PJ Brown taking down charlie ward the knicks got eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.. i forgot the season... and as to the final championship run.. he met tim duncan and david robinson.. sorry mali na injury pala sha (which is not his fault) and you have an LJ with a broken back and banged up knee.. a young marcus camby who is limping at that time and chris dudly who cant make free throws... naturally they got beat.. the twin towers and the rest of the spurs were too much for allan houston and spree...

i don't think ewing have that much of support either except during their last championship run when he had allan houston, spree, camby, and LJ.. (tapos sya injured)

starks at best is a third guy, he is not a pipen to michael or a drexler to hakeem... kulang din talaga sa support.. oakly and mason were average players.. wala sha katulong na superstar..

and lastly, among the beasts in the east.. other than MJ, another guy kept ewing from winning a title: "MILLER TIME"... yup reggie is at his best against pat and the knicks...

  8. oh yeah willie miller is definitely overrated.. he won hi two mvp awards when the big boys are playing for the national team.. since he didn't make the cut to the national team, he was left here to dominate pba middle class players. in simpler terms he is not an mvp of the PBA, but MVP among mediocre and "bangko" players...

  9. eddy curry

    darko

stephon is not overrated but he is an airhead

danny i was ok when he was at the peak of his career, same with marlou...

the two de ocampos are overrated

vinsanity is not overrated he is only getting older and i think he already has a banged up knee..

    cp3 is not overrated

rich is overrated so is wesley gonzales and ken bono and quiniahan..

    give gabe norwood a chance

  10. I'm a knick fan since i became a basketball addict... i have to agree that marbury is still one of the top point guards in the NBA... all he needs is a coach who can handle him...

as to Allan Huston give the guy a break its not his fault he got hurt. hell, he was outscoring kobe and considered the best shooter in the NBA when the Knicks gave him the cash which he deserves any way.. look at his stats only patrick, willis and frazier scored more points than he did as a knick and he did lead the knicks to the finals... if he wants to comeback, if he can still play. at least you know there is a guy in the locker room who is really there to play basketball.. he was a long time team captain of NY so the much needed leadership would be provided...

i think the biggest mistake NY made was hiring Isiah.. look who he brought, Curry, james, francis, richardson.. all waste of money

I am not really sure with d antoni i never was a fan of Phoenix nor of its system.. it wont win you championships... defense wins championships.. ask the Celtics the no. 1 defensive team last year or maybe the spurs winner of 4 chapionsips in the last 10 or so years (tama ba)

If im the GM this is what i would have done..

Get JVG back he represents the last winning knick team and a solid coach who is a defensive minded one.. or someone like him little fun fare but good.

i like the idea of the randolph trade make it work throw a second rounder or so to make it work

    or even nate

send curry away as well kahit na minimal ang kapalit.. it would benefit the team in the long run...

same with nate too small and too cocky send him away also

any way, if im the GM this is how my knick team look like, taking into consideration possible trades and dream trades and limitations hehehe

    Coach JVG

    PG. Starbury

SG. i would trade for a luterhead or any average SG

    SF Jeffries

    PFGallinari

    C Darco

    Bench

crawford would be my 6th man.. palying heavy minuites of the bench as sub for both starbury and whoever is the SG.

Houston as another SG if he can still play

    Chandler as sub for jeffries

    Lee for Gallinari

look for a rugged center, someone who can bang with the big boys...

jerome james would still be part of my team because his contract will be expiring soon..

jaric would be a backup point guard...

rebuilding team to so don't expect to win a lot of games but at least they will be in the position to get new and better players...

by the way i would go after artest and king james next year

  11. Pg stockton --- no. 1 in assist and in steals, dirtiest player ever...

Sg jordan--- do i have to explain this?

Sf Bird--- clutch player, leader, team player, hustle player, great shooter.. second greatest

PF K. Malone-- great scorer, good rebounder (pede din siguro si shaq hehehe)

C Bill Russel -- one hell of a defender and rebounder

6th man ko si pippen--- all around player can play 3 positions or even 4 at most

  12. right now brock reminds me of an overgrown sean sherk but

thats because brock trains with sean sherk @ minesota martial arts academy.. actually the game plan there is make brock look like an overgrown sean sherk. i remember during the post fight promotions for the frank mir fight people around brock are saying that brock moves like sean sherk already..

sean sherk's base is wrestling also but he is much well rounded and well versed.. syempre mas matagal na sya sa mma.. mas malaki lang talaga si bj penn sakanya kaya d umaabot suntok nya kaya ayun gulpi sya pa job job lang si penn.. by the way, i am one of those who doesn't think sean sherk took performance enhancing drugs (intentionally) the man is an animal in the gym...

  13. i hope mir wins.. im a big fan of mir since he he broke tim syla's arm... yan ang tinatawag na arm breaking win.. pero dihado nga sya dito.. pareho sila ok sa jiu jitsu pero syempre big nog has the edge as to stand up many say this is where mir has a chance big nog boxing si mir kenpo karate... pero i think what would determine is mir's conditioning....

by the way, somebody posted na si don fry yung first na all around fighter sa UFC. sorry i beg to disagree si frank shamrock yung considered na prototype ng isang mma fighter...

hmmm.. as to new fights parang maganda yung next fight ni lyoto machida kalaban nya yung undefeated din na brazilian i forgot the name.. i think after this match if machida wins. which i think he will, dapat may title fight na sya he defeated many great names already.. rich franklin, bj pen, tito, sokodju... dapat nga sya na no. 1 contender eh hehe

  14. All time greats for me

    1) ken shamrock-- master of submissions, started the first real mma camp, very professiona, well conditioned, ambassador for mma (remember he was one of those speaking in behalf of mma during its early years telling people that its a sport not a cockfight) i just hope he stops fighting he is old already...

    2. royce gracie-- he started it all

    3. randy couture-- 3 time heavyweight and 2x light heavyweight champion tama ba? what amazes me is his ability to compete despite his old age

    4. BJ Penn-- ability wise ala na question

    5. Anderson Silva-- Pound for pound king!!!

    notables

Lyoto machida-- malaki potential nito and i like his style sha lang ang karatista na nananalo ata sa UFC aprang si bruce lee at matalinong fighter.. i think future champ to.. lalo na ka sparring nya sia anderson silva, belfort, big not sa black house tapos erpat nya karate legend tapos ok din jiu jitsu nya

Frank mir--- im a big fan of his heavy weight na parang light weight ang skill.. too bad na acksidente sa motor.. we will see kung naka recover na cya.. kenpo karate and jiu jitsu are great kulang lang sa conditioning at siguro mahina chin pero will be champ again. i think he can beat big nog.

    Fighter I hate the most

Tito ortiz.. napaka yabang at puro yabang.. kaya lang nya yung matandang ken shamrock i wish nagkalaban sila sa prime ni ken he would have been owned.. oh well ginawa naman na sakanya yun ni chuck, randy, frank oh and recently machida... anu ba yan d manlang nakasuntok kay machida... hehehe kawawa sya kay babalu sa affliction 2.. well, sana kawawain sya ni babalu..

sensya na sa tito ortiz fans dito.. ayoko sakanya kasi napaka unprofessional nya.. what made me like ufc is yung respect ng fighters sa isat isa after the fight tapos biglang papasok yung mga mayayabang na bastos like tito to ruin the great beginning. bading naman to, takot kay chuck at kay lyoto mwahahaha

  15. Ken Shamrock is the world's most dangerous man not fedor hehehe.. kelan nga yung big nog vs. Mir match.. i hope bumalik na talaga yung totoongmir after the accident.. good match up to but has the potential of being boring kasi pareho ju jitsu guys..

  16. TAPSI sa asturias sa dapitan side ng UST.. just like the rest of the bars near USTE panay magkakaibigan/magkakaklase pumupunta don so chances na may makilala ka is slim.. but syempre you could get lucky... panay UST students umiinum dun.. the place is like an institution to Thomasians lahat ata one time or another nakainum dun.. been there during my college days (4years ago) till now andun parin yun.. yung mayari kamukha ni kuya germs hehehe... the beer and pulutan is relatively cheap.. problem lang hindi sya aircon but guaranteed maraming magagandang bebots dun na umiinm galingan nalang sa diskarte or pray that you get lucky...

second floor nila may videoke pero for group activities lang yun...

    happy hunting hehehe :thumbsupsmiley:
