I have made several inquiries and had done my own research regarding my situation. I was employed by my employer from 2005 to 2008 roughly 2 1/2 years. I have developed some form of depression brought about by personal reasons, I made an abrupt resignation which my immediate supervisor granted, I have documents saying that they are waiving the 30 day notice and instructions on the clearance process. I remembered returning the headset, Identification Card, access card and key from my locker. Our HMO (Intellicare) is free to every employee and for the first dependent that you will declare the company will shoulder half and every succeeding dependent will be shouldered by the employee in full. At every start of the year, we are required to declare our dependents so they will know and authorize what amount they will deduct from our salary. I resigned the first week of February 2008 and apparently they made a change in the process with regard to HMO dependents, they said that there will be no need to require to declare dependents and whoever the employee declared the previous year will be carried over and unless you will be changing your dependents then that would be the time you need to remind them. Here is the problem, they are asking me to pay for the dependents that I did not declare since they made the unilateral change in the process in declaring dependents for HMO. I did not bother ask since my main concern then was to get away from the job because of my depression, it only now that I was thinking of asking them for my Certificate of Clearance, the number provided in the last documents I have is not operable anymore. I guess I just want to be assured of your suggestions on how to get about in handling my situation as I have not gone there since.

My mom had two recipes for adobo. One recipe was saucy while the other one drier because of sauce reduction. The saucy recipe was always paired with kare-kare. The recipe was always a mixed of chicken and pork. It was always garlicky with whole black peppercorn with just a hint of bay leaf. The key to the recipe was the ratio of the vinegar to the soy sauce. She used coco vinegar and Lauriat soy sauce only. She would use salt instead of the soy sauce for the saltness flavor. I asked her why was this and she told me that her lola and Nana only used "asin at hindi toyo ang pampaalat and soy sauce was just added to the adobo recipe during the Japanese time". She also said that adobo was one way of preserving the meat longer even without refrigeration. I guess they had no refrigerator during their time. The soy sauce was primarily used for the coloring and flavor twist than for salty seasoning. The dry type recipe always had slivers of chicken liver and gizzards or pork liver was also sometimes used. By the way, she would always cook this in a very heavy cast iron casserole (Dutch Oven) she inhereted from her mom and nothing else. The adobo stayed in that casserole until it was all consumed. It would also be reheated in the same casserole and since we were a small family this would last for 3 or 4 days. For me the best part would be when I would deglazed the bottom of the casserole when the adobo had been totally consumed. I would put a little oil to deglaze the bottom and put my rice in it. It would be the best adobo rice you could get.

Food historians agree that the original adobo did not use soy sauce as it was introduced only by the Chinese later through merchant trade. So tisoy malamang yung adobo ng ninuno natin.

Question po, My father and his remaining siblings have this real property (House and Lot) in Gen. Santos City, Mindanao owned in common (co-ownership). Since my father is the eldest, he was put in charge to represent all of them to have the property disposed of (to be sold). My question is this, one of his siblings/sister has recently died, leaving with her estranged husband and two children, is the signature of his estranged husband required in the contract to sell or deed of absolute sale or her two children assent will suffice?

A friend of mine and her companion was held up at knife point in the lobby of a building where her employer is a tenant. It happened at 5 in the morning and the men who held them up was also inside the lobby, there were no security personnel by the building present when it happened. Can they file a complaint for damages against the owner of the building for being negligent since their contracted security was not able to secure the premises? I have read cases regarding Torts particularly quasi-delicts but I have yet to find a similar case with the same facts, most of which are "vehicular accidents". Thanks in advance.
