  1. the specs are not bad. but why stick with sony or this model? personally, i would not buy this, for 36K... i feel like i will quickly outgrow this camera. just my opinion bro, its still up to you. :)

im not a sony fan btw. :D

hi guys, i really checked out all the 24 pages and its all worth it. i recently got interested and thanks to all who shared their knowledge/tips/advices...i couldnt ask for more. now im planning to buy a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 at P36,999 and currently offered 12 months 0% interest creditcard which means ill be shelling out P1,541 every payday for the next 12 months. i cannot raise that amount at once to buy it in cash and this mode of payment really makes it easier for me to purchase it. im a sony lover from the start from tv, hifi, phones, walkman, etc thus i picked the H5.

  4. noziuk, very nice shot :) been trying to shoot pics of sunrise, sunset and evening shots lately.. but cant get up early enough for the sunrise, or stay awake that long :)

question guys, how do you minimize blur and shakes without using a tripod?

    thanks man! :)

im no expert man, pros please correct me if im wrong. one useful guideline:

when shooting handheld, a useful guideline is to set a minimum shutter speed that is the reciprocal of the focal length in mm. in plain terms, this means when shooting for example at 300mm, you set the shutter speed at no slower than 1/300 secs. this is only a guideline though.

    i hope this helps.

  5. Its not as easy as it sounds. You cant just be an apprentice just like that. Learn to shoot by yourself. Learn all the basics yourself. Have a firm foundation of the basics before even trying to be an apprentice. Im taking basic and advanced classes this Oct 7, 14, and 21 under Jay Alonzo. If anyone wants details, PM. Fee is 3500

    i agree.

  6. THE BEST WAY TO BECOME A MASTER IS TO BE AN APPRENTICE FIRST.

Try working for somebody, in different industries.

Find what you really like shooting and find your niche.

example: Toto labrador... fashion, anne geddes ... babies

    good luck

Noted. Thanks for the tip Mr. Chair Man. :)

  7. that's how it's supposed to be whether you get paid or not you continue to take pictures. it actually took me a good number of years before i started getting commissioned works.

    here's a question:

do you take pictures and keep it? or do you show it to friends, relatives, etc.?

    after answering that, answer this:

do you then take pictures for yourself? or for others to see what you see?

do you take pictures and keep it? or do you show it to friends, relatives, etc.?

: yes i do keep them in my pc's hd and/or save a copy in a cd.

...im not really keen in showing my pics others... for now. i feel like my pics are not good enough. :( but i do show them to a close friend of mine... because she's very insistent. :)

    after answering that, answer this:

do you then take pictures for yourself? or for others to see what you see?

: hmmm yes i do shoot for myself first. i want to be good at fotograpy, and to me it's nice if others appreciate your fotos, but if they don't its ok. but it doesn't mean i don't care about other people criticisms. :)

btw, what does this mean sir pnoize? i mean my answers :)

    have a nice weekend everyone!

  8. this is a bit technical but here we go:

    I use a gadget called a lightmeter.

in a studio setting, i usually set my iso to 100 since the studio flash will give me enough light. I then use a gadget called a lightmeter to get my f-stop or aperture on a shutter speed of 1/125, i usually get an f-stop measurement of somewhere between an 8 to 11.

in shooting studio portraits, you would want to get all the details and not really have a shallow depth of field, thus the f8 and above choice.

without the lightmeter and without practice, i'd have to take test shots to get the proper exposure which takes time. and in most cases, specially when shooting personalities, extra time is something they just don't have. this small gadget takes away the guessing game and definitely saves a lot of time.

    -----------

yes, my studio is in Cebu. however, i shot this portait of Angela in one of the offices in abs-cbn Cebu.

Thanks a lot sir pnoize. I learn something new everytime i visit this thread. :thumbsupsmiley:

Ive already posted this in travel photos thread however I'll appreciate if sir pinoize2k4 could give some comments.

Definitely I'll monitor this thread. :)

Photo was taken in Southern Tip of Sri Lanka

    Nicely done!
