  1. I know a place, it's called Strawberry Hometel (or something like that) its a little hidden, it's in the street in front of Perfect Spot in Tomas Morato. If you want to do the dirty where you don't want to be found easily I advise you to try it there.

JoeHoe, can you pm me the location?

  2. I have tried the YAKIMIX at the Fort, the one at Masinag and the one at Macapagal Ave. in Pasay, on all occasions I found the food was commensurate to the price I paid. The only thing I noticed in these huge Buffet restaurants, the food are not protected with SNEEZE GUARDS, and this is not only true with Yakimix but even the like of Spirals, Circles, Vikings, etc. One time as I was lining up for some sushi, the guy in front of me cough right into the food without covering his mouth. One time I saw a woman pinching the lechon skin trying to find out whether it was crispy. Often times unsupervised young kids left on their own were playing with the desserts, candies, chocolate frosting.

  3. RAMEN NAGI

So this much talked about ramen restaurant has finally opened a branch in SM North Edsa (at least I don't have to travel all the way to SM Aura). So whats the verdict ????

Given that it was my very first time to try this restaurant, I opted not to "custom" order my ramen (yes you have the choice to order your bowl of ramen just the way you liked it) and just stick with the "chef recommended" version. The tonkotsu broth is piping hot and carries a nice porky flavor with a slight spicy kick at the backend. I love the thin and very tender slices of Chasu. (because of its thinness, its very easy to pick up with chopsticks). However, while I enjoy the thin slices of pork, I'm not always a fan of very thin noodle strands........ which has the tendency to become soggy in a short amount of time it rested in the broth.

I'm also a bit disappointed that considering the average price for their ramen is around 400 pesos, the Aji Tamago (egg) is not a part of the meal. (its a side dish that one orders seperately). Nevertheless its a beautiful serving with the very creamy yolk. (maybe a bit overmarinated in soy sauce so its a bit too salty for my personal taste)

But overall, its still a good bowl of ramen. I definitly will be back to try the Black Squid Ink flavor.

Just so so for me ....... I guess if you like your dumpling with lots of Kuchay, then this would be right up your alley.

    CHICKEN KAARAGE

Crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the insides. (I believe I almost singlehandedly finished off an order). The Mayo-Wasabi mix for the dipping sauce is I think what makes this stand out.

    On a personal sidenote:

Perhaps its a japanese custom thingy .... But I don't really get why the staff have to shout at the top of their voices everytime a set of diners walks in or out of the resto. (Perhaps if I were holding a bottle of beer or with some sake wine, I'd probably join in on the screaming and shouting.)

In the end, if you're the type that enjoys "eat and run" .... this place is definitly for you. But if you're the type that likes a little conversation while you slowly slurp away at your soup and noodles, then you might feel like you just entered a mad house.

Finally was able to try out this place.

The pork broth is good and the ramen is indeed very firm. But I prefer a flatter and wider noodle.

This has every texture of a thin udon which turns soggy if you don't eat it right away.

I wouldn't recommend eating it spicy.

The black squid ink ramen is a disappointment.

It is more of a black sesame garlic flavored soup stock than seafood broth. Think sweetened black sesame soup for dessert.

Kogi Bulgogi has a way better seafood ramen.

The tamago is definitely perfect but for the price, its too expensive.

  4. I read in one newspaper (phil star) article that globe is poised to invest in submarine fiber optic cabling soon. That would mean that they will no longer depend on pldt for the use (and monopoly) of its backbone cabling. Magkakaroon na ng real consistent high speed isp comparable to the other countries soon. Dapat lang. We're all being robbed kasi on a daily basis.

I used to pay P1400 sa ibang bansa pero it was way more than 10x the speed here.

  5.

  6.

as in totally no connection or may connection ka naman pero hindi ka lang makapag browse?

I assume you've done the on and off of your router/modem? I do get that sometimes too, yung biglang mag limited connection ako for no reason at night pero pag restart ko ng modem ok na ulit.

Kung madalas mo naexperience yan tapos you've done some checking on your part at wala talaga, call up PLDT and have them do a line test. That's the most efficient way of telling kung kawad ang problema or device na mismo. I've had problems with our DSL before and my modem was replaced twice, so far so good naman na ko.

As in no connection. Yes po, I"ve tried switching the modem on/off to no avail.

I doubt its the connection because it always happens at the same time every night.

Kapag umaga or early to late evening, mabilis naman and walang topak.
