  1. Need help from you folks. My desktop runs on intel Corei7, 6GB ram and 1GB 4870 ATI video card, 64 bit Vista Home Premium OS. A day after I upgraded to Windows 7 it started to malfunction. The machine always restarts, shuts down almost automatically. Any idea on the problem. Appreciate your advisory.

did you run the compatibility test

i got a similar problem when i upgraded a network card update, what i did is run in a safe mode ( press F8 when the computer starts to boot then choose safe mode ) in your case i dont know what to do, you can try a fresh format and install dirctly the win 7

  2. Just a thought...

buy a computer/laptop because you need it not just because you want it...because you may want the specs now but after a few months you will see a better one (there will always be a bigger fish) and thinking why did i rush in this if i really don't need it.

This is a good point ..

    Para inde OT

We have a MSI S420 before, then we upgraded to an ACER ASPIRE 5536

    AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processor QL-65

    4GB MEmory

  5. Nope, I connected it to the USB port using an external sata to usb cable then reformatted it using windows. (as if it was an external HDD). Then I re inserted the HDD to the original laptop then began the reformatting procedures. Everythign goes fine until the error message I mentioned earlier appears. Its just puzzling why it would start loading then say there's no hard disk when half way thru.

Hmm, no, it was originally installed with Windows XP. I just reformatted it so I could re-install XP.

Thanks Maesters but I'm afraid the client has lost faith and took it to someone who repairs for a fee. What's even more puzzling is that they didn't find anything wrong. But they installed a windows Vista Home edition OS.

Let's just let her suffer the sudden slow-down of her Laptop. Her memory was good but the processor isn't fast enough. now, she's complaining that Her laptop is slower than what it was before. Hehehe.

Try a warm boot install ( tama ba yung term) you boot the windows xp cd installer then format / install the hard disk
