  1. But there's one thing you have to consider dito sa paglipat ni Batista sa Smackdown. As you will notice yung Heavyweight Championship at US Championship na originally WCW belts nasa Smackdown.

  2. Dude, I think PAJA is located in the Rizal Sports Complex in Manila.

The Judo Grappling School (where I trained for about a month or so before) in AAK Megamall stopped teaching classes since March of this year. If you still want to train with Coach Ali you can try to attend sessions at Moro Lorenzo or at their other gyms in QC and Discovery Suites. They teach BJJ though not Judo, but I guess he can also show you some judo moves. He's a good coach and you'll learn lots of stuff from him.

  3. Woah, Brock making an appearance in NJPW! That'd be great move for him since his chances of becoming a pro-football player is pretty slim. Inoki has deep pockets and he can probably afford to have Brock over his org. Dunno if Brock would be making the same money he did in WWE, but at least he's employed. Side note, Goldberg is still with DSE's (producer of Pride FC) Hustle promotions and is making regular appearances there along with some other American wrestlers.

Heyman was taken off the list, because he was caught listening to a planning session of the Raw creative department. As for the coming ECW PPV, I've heard of it, but that's about it. I'm not really familiar with ECW, because all we get here is WWE and some WCW before. Sayang, my friends say ECW was way better than WWE. Too bad that they had to much debt and went bankrupt.

  4. Goodday Comrades,

Just want to ask if anyone among you guys know an Official Pancrase Organization here in the Phil.? I read frm the net that there is,but they did not specify where. I'm not refering to the Pankration Org. there in Pasig, Im refering to the Pancrase Martial art where Bas rutten and Yuki Kondo came from ..Your help will definitely be appreciated..

Pancrase is not a form of martial art. It's an organization that produces MMA events. Though they have accredited dojos like P's Lab, PANCRASEism and Grabaka. What these dojos teach is basically MMA.

There are two ways of looking at Pancrase, the old one and the new one. Old Pancrase had rules like open handed palm strikes only and rope escapes. Also, some of the fights before were alledgedly "works" a'la pro-wrestling, because the founder of the organization Masakatsu Funaki was a pro-wrestler. They also wore those weird boots, because they were the "fighters of the future". Pancrase of today which you can also refer to as New Pancrase has the same rules as Pride FC.

Hope that helped clear some things up.

    Train hard; fight easy!

Last week, it had one hell of a shiner.

Hehehe. Yari si HH dun!

  6. novice, i watched the episode you were refering to in gameplan pero it was ecletic, halo-halo, and did not account the fact that your assailant(s) may attack a woman as he would a man,. which would involve fully power swings and straights, kicks etc. instead of grabes, bearhugs and the like. guns are best pero may legal ramifications, and knives well my swiss army knife was treated as a weapon by the police and naglagay pa ako para lang maka-settle. (the law on defensive knife is very vague in the phils.) kaya all you have are your hands, feet, etc. ( canes and sticks are cumbersome) to fight with. anyway thanks . I'll tell my female friends about FMA, pero i doubt if they will try. May pagka J.Lo (as in the movie ENOUGH) ang type nila.

Hmm....what I could suggest to your friends is not to choose an art for it's aesthetic value, but for it's lethality. We're talking about life or death here. Since, as far as I know, there are no qualified Krav Maga instructors here in the PI what they can do is mix and match a couple of styles together. I'm talking about FMA mixed with a striking art like Boxing or Muay Thai. FMA is not just arnis twirling. In movies like The Bourne Identity and the one with Benicio del Toro and Tommy Lee Jones, the weaponry techniques that were used there was FMA. IMO, Kali is P4P the most lethal reality based martial art. It also teaches empty-handed fighting. Boxing or Muay Thai would be a good compliment to FMA, because even if a girl would hit you, if she hits you in the right spot, it's gonna hurt.

Whatever your friends chooses it would always boil down to instinct and common sense. Me, I taught my sister to hit the vital points of an assailant. I taught her to always go for the eys, shins, groin and/or if somebody grabs a hold of her twist their fingers and shout "FIRE!" scandalously. I also taught her to use anything she has a hold of as a weapon, be it a pen or cellphone. The tricks that I taught her are dirty as hell, but they are also effective as hell!

If you want more input and opinions regarding female self-defense, I would be PM'ing you a site that you can go to and ask these specific questions.

  7. I saw in Gameplan a couple of years ago, a group that teaches self-defense class for females, but I can't remember the groups name. What I can suggest is reality-based fighting like what you've mentioned i.e. Krav Maga. Filipino Martial Arts is very useful in self-defense situations, because it will teach you both empty-handed and weapons based fighting. Guns and knives are fair game especially in a life or death situation, but for practical and financial purposes there are a lot of knives that are available in the market that can be used in self-defense scenarios. It's okay to carry a knife for self-defense purposes just as long as it does not exceed 2.5 or is it 3.5 inches in length. Feel free to PM me if you need help in finding martial arts instructors for your friends.

  8. I box (im actually trying shoot fighting) and practice greco roman wrestling everyday...old college thingy.

Shootfighting in the PI?! Where?! Is it an authentic Shooto school like the ones they have in Japan?

  9. bonzai, the first kickboxing gym that comes to mind is the Amateur Muay Thai Associaion of the Philippines gym in Ultra. But, there's several others you can check out like Kalasag kickboxing, Bull Handead, Hybrid Yaw-Yan and Suntokaran Todo Bakbakan also conducts some kickboxing classes. I would'nt be much help with their exact locations, because all I know is that they have gyms in QC. If I ever get some added info I'll just post it here in the board.

  10. From what I've heard, there's a Muay Thai gym in that area. I think the name of the gym is Roundhouse Muay Thai, but I don't know its exact location in Merville. I'll just PM you if I ever come across some more info about the gym.

Bill Goldberg is "fighting" under DSE's (Dream Stage Entertainment) puroresu outift, Hustle.

As for Hulk Hogan, I believe he "fights" under NJPW (New Japan Pro-Wrestling) occasionally.

Try watching Japanese Pro-Wrestling. They have way fancier gimiks than US based promotions. So if anyone of you has sources for puroresu, just PM me. Thanks!
