I used to do this frequently as a kid. Kaso mga madadali lang.

I still touch up on my skills every now and then kapag di busy but I'm really getting rusty.

I'll be back on this hobby pag di na masyadong busy.

Hehehe.

I think I'll brush up my skills on the "FrankenToshiba" Project I'm gonna do. (I aim to revive a dead Toshiba Laptop and give it a full makeover. Hehehe. I plan on painting it as if its a car since the design of its casing is slightly based on one. Hehehe.)

Will post pics of the car later. Maybe I'll get more angles first.

I went for an optical inspection and I found out that the seats really had leather seat covers. The tires aren't that old and It had some sweet mags.

Hehehe.

  3. ^

just be prepared to spend for repairs. you should have money allocated for this in your budget, especially when you are buying a car this 'mature'.

    good luck bro.

Yeah, I'm morally preparing myself for that. I think if I get this car, I'll finally be able to stop smoking or at least minimize it. Hehehe.

Better to save up and get a Toyota Corolla ae92. (89-92). These go for 80 to 100+ depending on the condition. What's nice about this car is that there are soooo many parts. As in madame, easy to modify. Engine swaps are relatively cheap din. Really a good car

Dude, that's like double the price of the current car I'm eyeing for. I'm not sure how much longer I'll have to save up for that. My savings keep getting depleted everytime there's an emergency. Hehehe.

  4. I'm a newbie when it comes to cars but I'm planning on buying a second-hand Mitsubishi Lancer '87 Model. Any tips?

The seller is offering it at 50,000 PHP (I'm currently negotiating to lower it to 40K) and claims it to be in good running condition. It has Mag Wheels and leather seat covers. He says the AC is good. The paint job needs a few massaging but I'm aspiring to have its color changed to black since I don't really dig maroon.

Any tips? I want to get my money's worth since I've been saving this money since I can't remember when. I wanna make sure I get my money's worth.

Malakas ba ito sa gasolina? I can't really trust everything the seller says. Hehehe.

Maganda pa kaya makina nito? Tsaka gaano pa kaya katagal ang itatagal nito with proper maintenance?

  5. Dude, gaano ba katagal usually bago dumating yung sim?

I signed up last tuesday pero hanggang ngayon, wala pa ring dumadating na sim.

    Bakit kaya?

  6. MAY THIS SERVE AS A CAUSE OF CONCERN FOR ALL OF US NOKIA SUBSCRIBERS.

A month ago, pumunta akong nokia moa para pagawa tong n95 classic ko. Under warranty pa kasi sya until nov. this year. Hindi kasi nagana ung flash nya during image capture mode, ung volume key ayaw ding gumana, plus nagmalfunction ung usb capability,as in naghahang un phone pag connect mo sa pc via pc suite. Sabi sa akin after 3 days tumawag daw ako. Sabi ko,ill just pullout my phone, byaran ko un 200php diagnostic fee. (who's not available during that time).so after a week 2mawag ulit ako.they told me na ok na daw ung flash, but ung usb may problem pa. After another week, call ulit ako,ok na daw ung flash at usb, dalin na lang daw sa other service center nila for software reflashing. Tumawag na ko sa nokia careline. Sinabi ko lhat lhat ng concern ko. Naka high priority na daw. Just last week, call ako sa moa. So,all in all, after 5weeks,hindi nila nagwa ung phone. I know it's a corporate thing, hindi kayo basta basta magpapalit ng board. So un,kayo na bahala magjudge fellow mtc'ers

Dude, I'm a hobbyist technician. I'm no professional but I'd say its the technician's mishandling which caused further damage. Hehehe.

    You've been had.

Again you've been had... big time. pinagbayad ka pa ng 2,000. Hehehe.

Since sliding yang phone mo, I could easily deduct na naputol nung technician yung ribbon nung lcd mo kaya di na gumana nung unang ibalik sa iyo.

You should've dememded for them to replace the unit dahil sa mga hocus pocus nila.

    ^^i sympathize

sadly, nokia after sales service sucks (nokia in glorietta specifically)

we are still waiting for a part of a phone from them, its been half a year at least

i've quit following - up 'cause they just give me the runaround

so i had to get a friend who's going to HK to buy a replacement part there.

just buy a different brand. i'm pretty satisfied with samsung at the moment

Hehehe.

same here, nokia's service sucks. my phone is with them for 2 months na, tawag daw eh d naman maka connect, may tatawag daw wala naman. kalokohan lang talga. hanggang ngayon nandun pa din phone ko (nokia glorietta). already made the switch to samsung too.

Kung talagang matino sila at kumpleto sa gamit, within minutes, made destinguish na nila kung ano ang sira. Hehehe.

after sales service usually sucks in the philippines.. thats why you can't blame people like me who has the policy of "once broken, replace it with a new unit instead of having it repaired since repairing it will just cost you more".

One great point dude. But nime goes like "Broken things which are considered gone is feasible for studying and dismantling. Hehehe. In the end, usually, napapagana ko ulit.

:angry2:

question lang sa mga technicians or those that have experience on this: paano nyo malalaman kung ang phone ay bumagsak?

Dude, here are some of the telltale signs na nabagsak yung phone:

Pag binaklas naman yung unit, maaaring may pyesang natanggal na sa pagkaka hinang but that's an advanced case.

    ====================================

My advice, kapag hinala nyo ay niloloko na kayo ng technician, may it be in a certified service center or in a rat hole repair desk, walk away with your phone.

Hehehe. XD

  7. I just signed up.

Maybe if I receive a pair, she'll agree since its free. Hehehe. Tsaka 50 cents per minute is such an irresistible offer. Hehehe.

  8. MTC bros and sis, pls help me. i plan to buy a minilaptop like an asus or msi wind. based on this thread/subforum wla optical drive ang mga ito. My query is: is it technically possible to connect/ install an optical drive & play a dvd movie thereafter installation? TIA

Dude, technically, its very possible. Kung mag burn nga, possible eh. Playing movies pa kaya?

Just make sure you have the right software to play the movies with like Nero Showtime, etc.

And also make sure that your External CD/DVD R/W drive comes with drivers. Just check the package of the product.

  9. masters...need help very badly...super lungkot dito sa saudi tapos ganito pa nangyari...

just bought a samsung laptop R510..vista os...my problem is the voice in YM...it wouldnt function...

message always i got "cannot connect to server"...NO RINGING AT ALL!!!...built in cam is working properly except tha voice...

rally missing now to hear the voice of my kids...any help would be greatly appreciated...

It happens Dude. Try to find the driver package which came with your laptop.

Hehehe.

If you'll observe, the caption sez "Location: Desktop" (Shortcuts without defined captions just plainly say where the target file is located.) tapos, pag nag click ka sa kanya, bubukas "MyComputer" (Shortcuts are really meant to do that). I think it was the desktop Icon of "My Computer which got dragged accidentally into the folder nung naka open yung "Start Menu Programs" folder.

Yun namang pagbagal ng computer mo, it might be from something else. And by the way, IMHO, NOD32 is not really a good antivirus. Ever tried AVG or Kaspersky?

I got a 2nd hand Sony VAIO. I need to make it boot on CD but the BIOS is password protected and I can't get in. I've tried bringing it to a laptop shop at the Podium but they couldn't get in either. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Basically it varies from model to model. Try mo lang I boot PC mo then keep pressing F2. Pag di kumagat, reboot then repeatedly press F3 and so on...

But usually, its near F7.

Another thing to do about the password is this... Kaso lang, this is a trick for Desktop PCs so hindi ko sure kung applicable ba talaga or advisable para sa mga portable since it would probably require diassembling the unit.

Wait a few hours (in come cases, kailangan intayin overnight. Some report it was necessary to wait for a week but I doubt the latter.) para siguradong wala nang reserve na kuryente yung motherboard, then re insert the batteries and start up your PC. Kailangan nga pala unplugged yung PC habang ginagawa to.

Also, I've read somewhere that these companies producing MOtherbhoards have default password override codes.

In some cases, it might even be soldered onto the Board.

Pero before you go into dismantling it, subukan mo muna tanggalin yung Battery niya.

    ================================

It takes real passion for the craft to be an effective troubleshooter.

He's probably a nobody who got his hands on a Windows XP installer and learned how to reformat tapos nagkukunwaring technician daw siya. I've even seen those who feign virus attacks para lang ma justify yung reformatting.

So be forewarned.

That way, mare retain lahat ng old files nyo. Kung gamit mo sa work yung computer mo, you'd know how important your files are.

Hehehe. Kadalasan kasi, nilalasing na lang. (Joke!)

Insist that you have your files be backed up before anybody proceeds to reformatting your PC.

    Just my opinion.

do you mean another person from installing to your pc?

    try deepfreeze

Hmm, 8 units PC mo... Tapos sabay sabay...

    At naka Deep Freeze ka.

You must be operating an internet shop.

Deep freeze is indeed a remarkable software. Better than any antivirus since everything is restored to a pre-set restore point everytime you reboot. Pero it is most advisable talaga sa Internet shop environment.

But it has its downside. Since laging nagre restore sa isang restore point every boot, mas madaling nagde degrade yung hard disk. Instead of it having 6 years of average effective life, nagiging 4 or less. Its a consequence. And since sabay sabay (approximately) binili at inooperate lahat ng 8 units, malamang nga na halos sabya sabay din bibigay yung hard drive.

So, you'd just have to choose between risking infection and reducing it by installing a decent antivisur which is regularly updated or you could install Deep Freeze and reduce the average effective lifespan of your hard disks.

IMHO, I'd install Deep Freeze and keep in mind that my HDs can break within three to four years at mag save na ng pamalit.

Try mo. Baka gumana.

Clarification lang po. Are you a girl or a boy? Kasi sabi sa Gender mo, female ka.

  11. mga masters, i have a sony vaio, i bought it last 2007 sa us. my problem is, hindi nagana ung shft keys (both left and right) i started just last week. ano kaya remedyo dto. saan kaya pede mag pa gawa ng vaio laptop? thank you po

No dismantling necessary. Though its only a temporary solution and you're bound to repeat the process at the first signs of it happening again.

Though I'm not exactly sure how to check if they are binded. Mas magamda talaga mag repair kapag kaharap ang laptop.

i have a laptop ibm r31. Problem is nag fluctuate yung cpu speed nya from 1.13ghz down to 130mhz... when it happens the laptop become unusable. helps pls... thanks!

Dude, it might be because of a virus. Though it also could be the result of having too many programs working in the background at the same time.

But it could also be too many viruses working in the background at the same time. Hehehe.

  12. Dude, malamang sa Bayantel talaga problem mo. Try to look at your modem. Try to look for the light with the tag that sez "Internet". Observe how it behaves while the internet is active and observe what it does when its messed up.

Yun namang sa problema mo sa Craching ng PC mo, that means you'll have to undergo maintenance. Some cases are fixed with a few tweaks, some, re-installation of OS.

Pero kung nasa four to six years na PC mo, you might have to change Hard Drives. But that's a rarity. Hehehe.

If he did, he really means it.

Misis ko naman naging frigid. so bihira na lang kami may action pero the love is still there. The affection is still present... Its just that there's no sex anymore.

I'd still make sure I satisfy you every night. Kaso baka hindi kaya ng katawan niya. I think he's under a lotta stress lately.

Have you tried giving him a teasing massage? That might work.

Also, sometimes its not enough to just ask your partner for sex. You have to put him in the right mood. Foreplay is very crucial.

About sa suspicions mo na may significant other siya, forget about that thought.

I remember being hurt the most whenever my wife doesn't realize that I'm making sacrifices for our future while she selfishly demands for all of my time. Minsan ayaw ako papasukin. Mas pinagseselosan pa nga trabaho ko eh.

Once scanned and disinfected, I set mo sa Folder options under Control Panel na wag i hide yung mga invisible files.

Pwede mo na i unhide yung mga files and folders through proberties. Uncheck mo lang yung check box nung "hidden".

  15. Umm, dude, I'm not a guru... But here is my way of solving your problem. But I think I better explain to you what happened.

First, there was a virus which replaced the original NTLDR with a virus or the virus could've embedded a virus into the NTLDR file.

Your antivirus detected the viral version of NTLDR and so, it deleted the file.

The next time you booted up, your system is looking for NTLDR.EXE and windows couldn't start without it.

    Here's what you should do:

    • *Remove your hard disk and put it in an external HDD enclosure.
*connect it to another PC. Better make sure its not infested and with a good working updated Antivirus.
*Scan the Hard disk for viruses just to be sure.
*On the Control Panel, Double Click on "Folder Options", Click on the "View" Tab. Check the item "Show" hidden files and folders. Un-Check on the item "Hide Protected and System Files". Disregard the system message saying "this action is not recommended".
*On the C:\ folder, copy the NTLDR.EXE file and paste it onto your laptop's default windows Directory. (It is where the \windows and the\Program Files folder is located.)
*Remove the External HDD from the PC. Remove the hadr disk from the enclosure and place it back on its original position in the Laptop. Make sure you put it back the same way you took it out.
*Boot up you laptop and then rejoice.

The only problem you might be encountering after that would be if there are other system files deleted due to the virus infestation. Hehehe. But you'll live. You might wanna back-up your files while the drive is in External HDD mode. Its safer that way. Hehehe.

Another thing: if the laptop is around 6years old, and is experiencing frequent crashes and corruption of files, bumili ka na ng bagong HD. Hehehe.

Dude, pwede mo ipasok sa ibang PC yang Hard Disk mo tapos, I copy paste mo na lang yung NTLDR from that computer to your HD. Kaso, kailangan same OS yung nakainstall sa HD mo at sa PC na pagsasalangan.

thanks dude i"ll try that anyway thanks a lot master...

No Problem Dude... But... I'm no Master. Hehehe.

    Mga bossing, help naman.

    4. After 3 days, nag crash na naman pc, hanggang di na sya mag ON. after 2 days, try ko ulit on, nag on nman, tapos nareformat ko pa. Pero sobra uminit ng cpu.

    5. Same day, nag crash ulit pc, ngayon di ko na talaga ma "ON"pc.

So, di ko alam kung power supply, memory, hd and prob.

    Sana may makasagot, thanks!

Like ko lang maayos to para ma upgrade at magamit ng bata. btw, yr 2003 ko pa sya nabili, P4 1.7

    Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid Hard disk na problema Ms. Sugar.

Its a wonder naka tatlo ka pang technician at kung anu-ano pa pinabili mo. I advise you na wag na wag mo nang kukunin yung tatlo na yon. They're just wasting your time and money.

Since it was Bought at 2003 at around 5 years na sya, its bound to happen.

Here's the "el cheapo" way to solve your problem":

    • *Remove the old hard disk and remember to note how you removed it (you need to remember so you won't have trouble putting it back)
*take it to a PC parts store and ask for something like it or much better if its something with the same specs but with a higher capacity.
*You could disregard the first two since surely, it would be an IDE Hard Disk and not a SATA. You could go straight to the nearest PC parts store and ask for an IDE Hard Disk. You choose what capacity you need. But I'd have to say "Don't choose something lower than 40 Gigs." Hehehe. Although, if you're not really adept at PC troubleshooting, I suggest you go through with the first two steps.
*you might want to buy a Windows XP installer while you're out... but if you know where to borrow one, you could also consider that. Also consider the installers of all other software you wanna install.
*Attach the new Hard disk onto your CPU. (Remember how you removed it) Take note that you don't tightly screw it on since the Disk would need to vibrate a bit and clasping it on too tight would lead to poor performance later on. You just put the screws on so it wouldn't fall off.
*Start your Computer. Eject the disc Drive. Insert the Windows XP Disc.
*Press the reset button or restart.
*Let it boot from the CD. (Might require you to "press any key to boot from CD...")
*Follow onscreen instructions on setting up. Its better if you format it first before installing. Its either that or it will automatically format before installation if the HD is bare or is brand new.
*Wait for the installation to finish. It'd be better if you listen to the radio while doing this. It could prove to be a long wait. hehehe. Its automatic so you really don't need to worry much.
*Once the installation is finished, adjust your desktop's resolution and other settings by right clicking any empty space in the screen and clicking on settings.

Voila! You've just installed Windows XP.

Then you could install all the other programs you wanna install.

But if you're still having trouble, I could have a look at it kaso kailangan natin i tiyempo na free ang sched ko. Hehehe.

  17. Dude, that I cannot say.

Here's another way to solve that:

Here's how its done: Boot from your Windo$e XP Disc. Let it load.

Tapos, i select mo yung unpartitioned space (kabuuan ng hard disk mo) para doon i install yung OS.

    ====================

Dude, since computer mo yan, you should take every opportunity to learn from it. Just my two cents.

Malamang bagong virus.

Pinakamaganda siguro kung i back up mo na lahat ng files mo just in case mag crash.
