Come to think of it, some of the best rap doesn't come from the USA. Aside from the Canuck K-Os, there's UK hip hop represented by Sway & Dizzee Rascal.

spearhead's mike franti is one hell of a lyricist.

Has any1 here ever listened to Dead Prez, now thats hiphop for me... i really don't like the rappers nowadays...

dead prez are quite good in terms of lyrics and beats. one of the better and intelligent hiphop artists. my other faves are: public enemy, atmosphere, the roots, talib kweli, common, mos def (syempre), black star, floetry, digable planets, gangstarr, k os. hmmm madami pang iba

my small piece at the back of my neck - blood and tears in alibata (baybayin script)

just taking my first listen to the tech grind of the red chord's "prey for eyes". its bit more melodic compared to "clients" and "fused in revolving doors".

suggested listening (medyo below the mainstream radar pero good stuff pa din):

imho, metal nowadays has evolved into a myriad of sub-genres, though there are many the music still maintains the same elements.

personally, i like isis, mastodon, nile, the red chord, himsa, the black dahlia murder, pelican, cave in, the dillinger escape plan, intronaut, the sword, and other similar sounding stuff.

Himsa isn't even in the same league as SLAYER, dude.

i know i know - slayer is in a league of their own.

but himsa can kick shadows fall asses anytime of the day.

besides i doubt it if slayer would play in d.i.y. show - which himsa did without any rockstaresque qualms.

i bet you wouldn't get an earshot of kerry king, wherein during the himsa show - there were no barriers whatsoever. how can slayer top that kind of audience rapport?

is anybody here into these bands (isis, pelican, russian circles)? i know they may not look or even sound like traditional metal, but they are still heavy or even heavier than anything i can imagine.

hatebreed, though they're a hc band, use metal riffage in their songs. shelter i'm definitely sure that they are not metal. ray cappo rocks!!!

Did you take those pics by yourself or did you get them from somewhere else? If you took them, it seems like you had press access. I tried to take pictures from the audience area, near the stage but the damn net got in the way of me taking any decent pictures.
