  1. I miss the old American television programs of the 70's like Hawaii Five-0, Quincy Medical Examiner, Kojac, Petrocelli, Happy Days, Mork and Mindy, Three's Company, CHiPs, Different Strokes, The Love Boat, The Waltons, WKRP in Cincinnati, Welcome Back, Kotter, and many others.

To add to the list of 70s TV programs, my favs were Man From U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law Enforcement), Mannix, Wild Wild West and of course the original episodes of Start Trek, Charlie's Angels & Mission Impossible.

  2. BUt just like what you said here.... you still meet her as a client right? Which means she still receives moolah from you right? If you want my opinion.... no i dont think thats love. Probably she just likes to fool around with you and earn a little extra on the side at the same time. I dont know... maybe im wrong....maybe im right... im relatively new here so i really cant say for sure.

I estimate the money she makes on me is just 5% of what she makes in her job at the multi national firm and we go out once a month on the average. There are times I am short on cash and she consents to an IOU which I make good the next time we go out. You can say I got a real good deal here and money seems to be a minor issue with us, but I guess the litmus test is if I ask and get it for free.

Pre, sorry for saying this but don't delude yourself into thinking that there must be a better reason why she goes out with you on the sides, other than the dough you pay for her services.

And are you sure you still wanna enter into a realationship (illicit or legal) with someone who goes behind her current longtime bf?

Earlier this year I bumped into her with her BF in a mall. Predictably, when we locked eyes momentarily, she gave no sign of recognition. We went out the following week, I mentioned our encounter and she denied that was her BF but her officemate (which was true) on their way to a client call. I've seen pixs on her FB in sweet and lovey dovey poses with him.

I don't mind what she chooses to admit or deny. I'm just happy for me and sorry for him. He has a managerial post, good looking hunk (mestizo) and about her age. I'm retired, have a nice pot belly, balding with kids older than her.

Too good to be true, huh? That's why I'm incredulous at why this goes on at all with all the wrong reasons.

  3. Met a PSP when she was still a college student, went out regularly as a client until she graduated and started to work in a multi national company where she met a co worker who became her boyfriend. Knowing she was on her way to a "normal life and career", I told her on one of our dates that it was OK with me to stop seeing each other since she already had a steady job and a serious boyfriend. To my surprise, she said just call me.

To make a long story short, we still see each other regularly, me as a client. I still pay for her time each time we go out. It's been this way for six or seven years now. Now why is it that she still goes out with me. Obviously she no longer needs the money and she has her boyfriend for almost five years now.

    Is this love or what?

  4. 70s was when hotels had discos - 1571 in Manila Hilton, Stargrazer in Silahis Hotel, Where Else in Hotel Intercon and equally famous discos Flames along Roxas Blvd, Another World along Makati Ave.....to name a few I remember.

  5. A lot of working middle class families own house and lots in subdivisions in the peripheral suburbs of Metro Manila (Marikina, Antipolo, Novaliches, Las Pinas, etc) and nearby provinces (Bulucan, Laguna or Cavite) but have to endure commuting to their place of work or school in Manila or Makati areas. They usually end up renting apartments in Manila to be close to their place of work or school. Going home to the residences during weekends, spending week days in their rented apartments.

Makes me think twice about the practicability of owning an affordable house and lot if it is situated far from work or school. Condominium seems to be a better alternative.

  6. Currently driving Sentra GSX QG16DE 1600 stock engine MT. Too early to do an engine swap, ok pa engine nya but I just want to tweak the performance a bit.

What simple and basic engine modifications would be recommended? Where can I go to to get these modifications done to my car?

    ^_^

  7. @Spadon: Sir, sali ka sa online group ng mga Nissan owners. I'm sure madaming makakatulong sayo dun. Like me, kasama ako sa group ng mga Civic owners and madaming naitulong sakin yun.

Stock engine pa din kasi madami ng lugar ang may speed limit, lalo na sa bwisit na Macapagal na 60 lang ang speed. angry.gif

Thanks sa reply Sir AsILayDying. I will do that. May point ka, dahil maraming may speed limit, what's the point? Ako just for the satisfaction of having modifications at pag may lugar na pwede bumirit, hataw na... ^_^

  8. I've dealt with plenty of MBA grads in my work, DLSU/ADMU pa. One thing I observed lacking in them is lateral thinking. As one of the above posts said, one needs "the art of the hustle" when doing business. No business school will teach you that. In layman's terms, common sense + diskarte is all that's needed. If I were to choose again, I'd rather have chosen Industrial Design or some other Math or engineering course for my undergrad. This is coming from a DLSU business grad.

I think an MBA program hones up your essential business skills (core programs) but enhancements or supplements to your essential business skills (application skills)are not well emphasized in the curriculum.

Creative & entrepreneurial thinking, thinking out of the box as stand alone courses not usually part of core programs of MBA. Concepts of these application skills are found embedded within the core subjects. Big picture thinking is taugh in business strategy subjects, systems thinking in financial and quantitstive subjects. Forecasting is actually an exercise in creative thinking.

A few MBA students will realize that these core programs are already teaching you these methods of thinking and application of your essential business skills. For me, the realization came much later, years after I got my MBA degree. Just my two cents.

  9. During the week of 4 April 1964, The Beatles held twelve positions on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including the top five positions. Neither feat has been matched by any other artist to date. The songs were "Can't Buy Me Love" (Capitol Records), "Twist and Shout" (Tollie Records), "She Loves You" (Swan Records), "I Want to Hold Your Hand" (Capitol), and "Please Please Me" (Vee-Jay).
