A Sunday with Shine
On days when the skies are dark and gloomy, one yearns for a ray of sunlight, a pillar of light and warmth.
After months of seemingly endless toil, I felt tired and dreary. Those juggling multiple responsibilities at work while running a business can relate. I felt like I've depleted my energy stores and I needed a spark to rekindle the spirit.
Enter, @Shine of Daje.
After scrolling through the pages of the forum board looking for something or someone to revitalize and inspire me, I came across a familiar face, a familiar name but this time, she's with an unfamiliar establishment. I reached out to confirm if it was indeed her and I received a polite reply from Shine saying yes. I asked if we could meet on a Sunday as that's the only day in the week when my calendar isn't packed. We agreed on a date, a time and a location. Scheduling an appointment with her was a breeze.
The workdays before our appointment were a slog. I felt like I was close to burning out but the thought of what awaits after an arduous week allowed me to power through back to back work meetings. I've been with Shine before so I know what magic she can weave. Sunday will be my reward.
Sunday. I arrived early at the agreed upon location thinking she'd follow maybe 30 minutes after. I thought I could chill for a while and freshen up but to my surprise, she was at the lobby less than 10 minutes after I checked in! She was at my door shortly after and when the doorbell rang, my heart skipped a beat. Also, if you're one of those who grew up crushing on Sunshine Cruz, you would surely enjoy her company. The resemblance is uncanny.
The transition from platonic friendship to something more intimate was so natural that I caught myself thinking "Maybe this is how coming home to your childhood sweetheart feels like." As for what happened underneath the sheets, that will stay between us as requested. I felt reinvigorated after our meeting and I still carry with me the energy and creative inspiration I got from Shine.
Gloomy skies may at times dampen the spirit but you can always look forward to and thank the heavens for the sun that Shines.
