@manny a. quito: If I'm not mistaken, the correct term is "created", so...Herr Tauber created the role that sang "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz"
Maganda rin yung rendition niya, although of course the ending isn't like how contemporary tenors sing it (i.e. ends with a high A, not a D). Glad there's a recording of this song from the original singer
Quite so, and from the same era and on a lighter note, here's a study in vocal harmony.

The Kings Singers and The Berlin Comedian Harmonists have rendered modern arrangements of this German oldie.

This brings several of my favorite elements together: Film, Tango Exponent Carlos Gardel, Classical Violinist Itzhak Perlman, Multi-Oscar-awardee John Williams:

Jussi Bjorling was somewhat the Pavarotti/Domingo/Carreras of his time. If not the best, at least he's one of the best. Too bad current generations of classical music enthusiasts are missing out on the great singers of old. But thanks to Youtube and torrents, we haven't lost those singers entirely, maski na si Caruso
Even earlier there was Richard Tauber for whom Franz Lehar composed many operettas, and in particular, he was the original singer of "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz"

@night strider: Loosely speaking, yes. Opera music is considered a sub-genre within classical music (but it's more like a form rather than a sub-genre of classical music..."form", as in yung klase ng music gaya ng symphony, song, piano study/etude etc.)
@manny a. quito: Nice selection! Gusto ko din kantahin yang pyesang iyan. Di ko nga lang abot hehehe. Maganda rin yung lyrics...magandang pang-harana sa babae lalo na kung mahilig sa classical music yung bebot
The German version is included in the Bjorling Collection from NAXOS label (available as torrent download)
