Clark_Kent
It's okay for PCs running 24/7 as long as the place is well ventilated... kasi mas mgandang open ung lalo na kapag my dinadownload ka like porn videos to fully utilize the use of your DSL internet connection... Guest Leviticus
desktop server: 5 months nonstop operation; without restarting!!! linux nga lang ang OS. Windows?!? maswerte na ako kung stable pa after 3 days, 6 days max; with the type of computing power I need. either hihina or magloloko na Quote Link to comment
akizuki
pag nakawindows ka... malamang sobrang bagal nyan after a month na nakabukas walang pahinga. sa bahay 3days nakabukas ang pc walang pahinga ok lang.. pero shempre with just an ordinary room temp eh malaki ang risk ng overheat. any debian/linux/unix OS, kahit isang taon yan nakabukas walang shutdown shutdown ok lang. pseudointellectual
BTW what's the optimal board/cpu temp (for home pcs)? Quote Link to comment
Claymore
yung pentium 2 na pc ko buhay pa rin hanggang ngayon. wala na siyang cover kasi grounded na yung box. walang patayan yun. sige ang download and convert ng videos. di rin aircon ang kwarto. may konting ingay na ang fan kasi dahil sa alikabok. as far as i can remember there were only 3 ocassions na kailangan kong patayin, to upgrade parts and to add HDDs. the other times would be due to brown out. kchris2
oks lang nakabukas 24/7 basta me pambayad ng kuryente saka pambili ng bago pag di na kinaya ng pc niyo! heheheh Quote Link to comment
The Designer
Ok lang nakabukas ang PC 24/7 just make sure na you have a very reliable cooling system  Quote Link to comment
ZedX7
malakas ba consumo sa kuryente ng pc? minsan kc nanghihinayang akong iwanang nakabukas overnight during downloading. any ideas? Quote Link to comment
axlrose
Ok lang po yan basta ba di kayo nanghihinayang sa consumo ng kuryente. likewise, be sure that your PC is equipped with enough cooling system. Quote Link to comment
The Designer
malakas ba consumo sa kuryente ng pc? minsan kc nanghihinayang akong iwanang nakabukas overnight during downloading. any ideas? Malakas din sa kuryente ang PC kasi lahat ng components gumagamit ng kuryente, UPS or AVR mo pa lang malakas na, then yung mismong power supply ng PC, then monitor mo pa. if there's really no need to leave it on then just turn it off, makakatipid ka na sa kuryente makakasave ka pa ng konti sa wear & tear lifespan ng PC parts mo. Quote Link to comment
kenji_1989
2 months running continously ang PC ko.. I need to download the latest demos of games from gamespot cause Im writing reviews for them. makubex
ok lang sakin, iniiwan ko laptop ko pag download ng mga updates. Desktop ang malakas mag consume ng power dahil sa 300w+ supply Quote Link to comment
xXxtianxXx
24/7 PC setup need a decent cooling system to avoid overheating Quote Link to comment
martinace1
Low wattage lang naman ang PC, just make sure your room is cool enough for it to run 24/7 Quote Link to comment
fry
I notice that a lot of offices (including mine) don't turn off their computers when everyone has gone home for the night already. Is this because it's cheaper to leave them on rather than turning them back on the following day? Quote Link to comment
jack_d'quick
^ the computer in your company are probably servers.. they have to be online 24/7 and they are designed to do that.. i have server computers, and they really stand for weeks na walang patayan... so far after 4 years yung CD drive pa lang ang nasira. kung ang pc mo eh assembled nabili, wag kang makipagsabayan sa ibang matibay na computer Quote Link to comment
nindotgyud
You can leave it on specially during downloads as long as there's ventilation in the room. You can also turn off the monitor or enable autosleep to save on power while the CPU is on. Quote Link to comment
agent0range
OK na OK ganyan PC ko wala patayan pero restart ur PC from time to time para marefresh memory OKies Quote Link to comment
ravenant
What I do with my pc to prevent overheating is to take out the side panel then use a small electric fan tapos nakatutok sa cpu Yan ang Pinoy! hahahaha! gawain nmin lhat ng tropa toh! suggest ko mg-invest k s mmhalin na power supply.. like Task gamit ko sa server ng icafe ko.. :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
Guest Leviticus
pero here's the catch. kapag ang computer/server mo is switched on for a long time (I'm talking about months) tapos patayin mo.. for sure mahirap to switch it back on again. Natatandaan ko yung server na 8 months nonstop operation. I had to turn it off for hardware cleaning. ang tindi ng alikabok. switched it off, cleaned the fan and the other components, then switched it back on. kinabahan ako nung hindi mag-on. pinapahinga ko the whole day then switched it on again. ayun.. kailangan lang pala pahinga ng lokong server :upside: Quote Link to comment
balamban
ok lang yan as long as malamig yung room mo... para hindi mag overheat yung pyesa... Quote Link to comment
