Fusarium_jimini
I'd take originals any time of the day.. Quote Link to comment
arn_arn
Putsa badtrip ang mga revival ng mga baguhan. :thumbsdownsmiley: BOO!!!!Eh paano yung isang kanta na new wave ala senti ang dating yung video :thumbsdownsmiley: Original pa rin. Quote Link to comment
change
can't argue with the originals being better... 'coz these musicians have set the "standard" on how to play their music... but we have to give credit for the bands that did revive these classics and reintroducing them to the younger crowd... (sorry, last line a bit OT) Quote Link to comment
stankyou
pag revivals, most of the time, the artist suck and the song version sucks even more. artist lacks talent making uninspired versions. makes me cringe. Quote Link to comment

candleofblood
original siyempre.,what's the purpose of a band kung wala silang distinction ng music sa iba? nagiging trend na yang pag-rerevive ng kanta. lol Edited December 13, 2007 by candleofblood Quote Link to comment
mustang_ride
original pa rin. Some revivals bastardized the original song piece but some are actually quite good but not better than the original. Quote Link to comment
elmer_fudge
i agree with most...originals are usually better. but there have been a few exceptions to the rules. i guess sometimes, it's also an adaptation to the times. for instance, take the kami nAPO muna album. while i love APO songs, i find the remakes to be really well made. compare the original to the remake. it's hard to say which i like better, with each having their own qualities. i guess it will also depend on my mood. hitkid69
nothing beats the original... pero kung ok ang pagakakaremake why not? a good example is little wing by jimi hendrix... ni remake ni stevie ray vaughan at binigyan niya ng ibang context yung song...(ginawa kasing instrumental)... hahaha... Justin Nicholas
Wala pa rin tatalo sa mga ORIGINAL! Wala pang lumalabas na revival na sobrang ganda, napa-bilib ako. Tsk tsk tsk..... Quote Link to comment
yasame0321
gusto ko revive ni bamboo mga kanta ng grin department Quote Link to comment
reachard
It depends rin, sometimes the original is better but sometimes mas nagiging ok yung version nung song sa revival specially pag ginawa siyang acoustic version Quote Link to comment
dianne09
originals pa din syempre... pero gusto ko din revivals especially if the band or the singer put something different into the music. like their own style whatever, to make it sound more like their original song na din Quote Link to comment
mwah
Here's a song that kept on playing in my head for about a week. "Mahal na Mahal" is a nice, upbeat, catchy love song written by Archie D. during the early 90's (naalala niyo pa?) then Regine Velasquez did a remake in her "Covers" album in 2004. And yup, I like Archie D's version better than Regine's. Edited May 29, 2008 by mwah Quote Link to comment
atmosphere
Dixie Chicks did cover Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac's original. Sorry Stevie Nicks fans, but i find Dixie Chicks' version a lot better. Quote Link to comment
thonetteski
I respect - and I use respect very loosely here - artists/bands who put their own little twist to the songs they revive. At least they give the effort to make the song their own. What pisses me off is the proliferation of revivals in the local scene nowadays that offer no real change from the originals. My pet peeve now is the murdering of Nakapagtataka by some loser band whose name I don't care to remember. Parang naghulog lang sila ng limang-piso sa videoke sabay kanta. No rearrangement, no creativity, no nothing... And don't get me started with the trend of turning any random song bossa. Recently I heard Prinsesa sung this way. Sakit sa ulo. Talent is clearly missing in the so-called artists being spewed out by record labels nowadays and their incessant rehashing of songs is undeniable proof. i agree with... like when christian bautista made a revival or covered how can i fall by the breathe... that sucks... on foreign bands... if you have seen well i think most of us here have seen 51st day... the revival of new wave songs were given a new twist by the bands that covered ... and it's wonderful to hear them and comparing them with the original ones... they did not 'murderize' the songs.....
