jeffsydneyoz
*med well with hollywood booming and distributing films like pancakes to every country known to man...a question pops out...do you guys prefer to read a book or just wait for it on screen?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Â I would definitely prefer to read a book, before it can even be made into a movie. Most movies that I have seen so far, that were based on a best-selling novel or book, I have already read. I was smithened by the character Domino in the book, "Sharky's Machine"; but was very disappointed with the movie which starred Burt Reynolds. I salute Peter Jackson for having made such a good movie out of J.R.R.Tolkien's book, "The Lord of the Rings".And I am awaiting with much anticipation, the movie "The Da Vinci Code". I have finished all the "Left Behind" books and was only able to see the movie version of the first of the series. It left out a lot from the book.Reading a book gives your mind the ability to imagine and travel thru space and time. It still has a lot to give to an individual. Watching a movie is, for me, just plain entertainment. Quote Link to comment
spongebobby
probably it's best to get the best of both worlds: read a good book and wait for it to become a good movie. Â reading a good book has unique advantages, primarily the involvement of the reader's imagination. second is an appreciation of the intensity of the words used in the book. this is a far cry from semantic blanks with hollow emotions used in some films. Obese_F
i still prefer the hard copy... whenever i read kasi i try to imagine or picture what the author is describing or narrating.. tipong i have a direct control of it. eh sa film parang inerpretation yung ng ibang tao na panonoorin ko na lang.. parang boring.. panonood lang ang participation ko Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
I'd prefer a good book simply because it's often difficult to find a good, even decent film version of the original. In addition, a lot of great books have yet to be made into movies (or have proven to be cumbersome) that would tackle it in its similar (if not same) meaning or essence. Â Dune by Frank Herbert is perhaps one of the best examples. Â You just don't lose with a good book. Quote Link to comment
a_ngel
Book! For the same reasons posted above.  There are books that had been turned into movies that did not do the book justice, and there are some movies that will give you a better idea as to what the author has been trying to describe, in which your imagination had not been able to stretch far enough. DaVincilog
i'd rather have the book. Always Quote Link to comment

Guest Leviticus
Book. No special effect on Earth can match the power of imagination. Quote Link to comment
kathryn1816
i'd rather read a book, kaso walang time, minsan kakainip, watch movie nalang! Quote Link to comment

devil_lance
Watch a Movie kc mabilis tapos agad ang istorya whereas pag book matagalan ang labanan dun, but i like reading also, cguro pag marami akong time, i like to read when i'm in a vacation or pag wala masyadong magawa. Quote Link to comment
Batabatutaâ„¢
Pag tungkol sa sex.......i prefer erotic fiction or extreme hardcore literature......Other than that, I'd grab me a popcorn and watch a movie Quote Link to comment
kramski
case to case. read the book maraming important details sa aklat na hindi naipapakita or included sa movie. except forthe LOTR trilogy, i enjoyed the movie more kasi ang hirap magsulat ni JRRTolkien hindi ko maintindihan ang ipinagsususulat nya, hard to read ang mga books nya eh. parang nagbabasa ka ng mga taong nagtatalumpati, Quote Link to comment
Joyboy
always a book unless its sexual in nature.... Quote Link to comment
mind_focus
I prefer to watch the movie.. but sometimes when books I've read become movies.. I've noticed that movies don't always stick to the book.. much less deliver or give justice to the book Quote Link to comment
DaVincilog
the book will always be better. bonus na lang if the movie adaptation is up to par. Sin City looks promising but maybe because the author, Frank Miller is also involved. i am already preparing myself to be disappointed with the hitchhiker's guide..i dunno what it is but i feel it's going to take a lot to give justice to douglas adams' work. chronicles of narnia, baka pwede na. we'll see Quote Link to comment
babysitter
books are mentally stimulating movies don't always reflect the depth of the written word, it may be visually appealing but books would always grab ur soul and tease ur brains i almost cried reading les miserable Quote Link to comment
psy101514
You know what? Everyone's right. A book can give your imagination a boost. Nothing beats a great imagination. Another person was right that you can't cuddle with a book but you can cuddle with a movie. I guess I can add jokingly, you can't masturbate to a good book but you can masturbate to a good porn video. But where do you get the phrase, "A picture is worth more than a thousand words."? Aha!
