bustero
quickly they know how to serve expresso based coffee drinks consistently in multiple locations Quote Link to comment
jimithing
i'd rather drink coffe in figaro or seattle's, the coffee in starbucks doesnt have consistency, sometimes it's good somestimes it tastes like plastic Quote Link to comment
kinetskiboy
i prefer seattle's or san fran coffee than starbucks Quote Link to comment
colwyn99
Personally, I prefer Seattle's Best. However, I think Starbucks is a hit because of the following: a) offers an alternative to smokey bars & dark places to meet up with friends they're almost everywhere! c) offers an alternative to beer / alcoholic drinks that is "cool" d) you can read, work or study there without being disturbed by the staff Just my thoughts... Quote Link to comment
Emile
i like starbucks not because of their coffee.. their coffee's good but not that good for me to prefer it over the others... what i like about starbucks is the place itself... especially when i'm cramming for my exams... i can stay there and really have a quality time studying... yes, the place is noisy but the noise is at a decent level where you can still concentrate on whatever you're doin... at the same time, i can enjoy good music.. and have a nice cup of coffee... freedom99
Eh mahilig kasi ang pinoy maki-uso kahit mahal basta in siya, ayos lang sa kanya. Pero i love coffee...kahit 3 in 1 pa yan or instant or barako o sa starbucks o san pa. Quote Link to comment
propaganda
Nothing really. It just so happens there's a Starbucks at every corner. I'd go for San Fran's Mo Mocha anytime. Quote Link to comment

diskette
i dont like starbucks. i feel, it's a waste of money. Quote Link to comment
Zerreit
Like any franchise from the U.S., it's popular because pinoys think it's cool and would make them cool if they hang out there. Starbucks cater to the preppier, younger market here. Other coffee places cater to different markets. Quote Link to comment

skitz
What's so special about Starbucks? NOTHING! Except that you get to spend 5 times more than what those cups of coffee are really worth. But hey, it's a free country... spend your money the way you want... Quote Link to comment

kuletman
i don't think there's anything special about starbucks or any other coffee shop, for that matter, kahit sa dunkin' donuts mo pa trip mag-kape. coffee is coffee. kahit saan ka pa makarating. Quote Link to comment
cebucitylocal
Starbucks was recently on the cover of Fortune magazine,Schultz the owner of Starbucks according to him is not a place you go to for coffee, but rather as a third place, the first two being work and home, starbucks is a envisioned as a place that is in between work and home, where you can do work, study etc in a homey enviroment.small bit of trivia, how many here know that Starbucks owns Seattles best coffee internationally, different franchise owners in different countries pero one owner.Schultz said our goal is to be number 1 and number2,rumour is that they are negotiating to buy coffee bean the singapore group with a branch sa GB3.imagine kung natuloy all the coffee places in GB3 owned by starbucks and people dont know any better evil Quote Link to comment
Jsquared11
Nothing! Its a name brand and image...not the coffee you're buying... Quote Link to comment
Chi-Chi
This is a very simple topic but I must say that it's very interesting too. Well, I think that the reason that makes starbucks so special is its ambiance. The semi-dark semi-bright setting makes it easy for the caffeine addicts to adapt to the mood. That's the case here in New Zealand. I think back in the Philippines, most of the reason why people love starbucks so much is it makes them feel that they are part of the upper class since people who usually go there are somehow.. well off. cebucitylocal
Nothing! Its a name brand and image...not the coffee you're buying... correct,SBC and Starbucks coffee are processed by the same factory and coffee buyers, just different roasting formulas and packaging.just like Mcdonalds and Jollibee have the same suppliers for their hamburger patties.
