hitomi
there is a government employees group here at MTC with their own thread, you can ask there anyway, if you're skilled at politics, you'll do well. Try to take the exam at DFA. its hard but people that pass this will work in foreign service, ganda benefits. Quote Link to comment
eddiemcdowd02
My opinion lang, its hard to work in our government agencies. Workers are also affected by political erring... Quote Link to comment
ChiliMac
At the start of the year nag-open na yung computerized na exam ng CSC sa Commonwealth office nila. Ang daming nag-apply as in bus loads from the province. I found out na mga government employees sila na galing pa sa mga province and here as well and they were prioritize since employed na sila gobterno pero wala pa palang mga eligibilities. May kasabay ako na taga customs dun nung nag -exam ako mga mid-50's na siguro yun naka uniform pa, more that 20 years na siya sa government pero walang eligibility. Quote Link to comment
Google
Quote Link to comment
pvtryan525
State Universities almost always have job openings, like UP. Quote Link to comment
ThUgZtaH
noted. Honestly, if you want to effect change sa employment system ng government natin, i think it should start in all ranks. One way is to purge all those people having the same last name and are related up to the 4th degree of consanguinity, then re-do a background check on all those currently working to verify if they are indeed qualified for the positions that they are holding. I know some people who are holding high-paying positions but are not even qualified. Meron pa nga ni hindi graduate ng high school pero still working as a casual employee, which requires you to be at least a high school graduate. Lupet. other than that, I don't think this trend is gonna change in the next 50 years, unless the Mayans were correct and the world ends in 2012. Quote Link to comment
cocoy0
When I was in college, I went drinking with a classmate and her friend, who was studying to be a Customs officer. I was disgusted by her when I realized she expects to be doing in that agency what is happening now. Quote Link to comment
HuYu
gumagana pa rin ang "it's not only what you know, but who you know" unfortunately Quote Link to comment
crispa18
gumagana pa rin ang "it's not only what you know, but who you know" unfortunately This is very true, you should know somebody in order to be in the Government Service..... For those who are asking among the Agencies with best salaries, mostly this are Government Corporations others are The Bangko Sentral. Senate and Congress has high salary grades (SG)... and take note most of these high salary grades have a qualification of "able to read and write" thats it instant SG 24.... Quote Link to comment
don210
Quote Link to comment
don210
Ano ba yung benefits pag sa government mag work? Tulad ng sweldo, bonus, etc. Quote Link to comment

amalgama
I'm currently working sa government now pero di ko makita ang asenso ko dito, maybe sa private mahanap ko yun. If you have a principle in life, better not work in the government, mababago lang pananaw nyo Quote Link to comment
s3cr3tiv3
Almost 4 months na akong naka-transfer to the BSP from a call center. And I can say that it doesn't matter kung may backers ka or wala, kung sa pre-employment medical eh hindi ka pumasa. One good thing about the pre-employment medical ng BSP is talagang mapipilitan kang mag-lifestyle change kung gusto mong makapasok talaga. Yun nga lang, medyo kailangan din ng lifestyle adjustments since na-cut almost in half ang salary ko sa private, pero since stability and job tenure naman ang kapalit, ayos lang din naman. Quote Link to comment
vladmr
Quote Link to comment

DivineDeath
Quote Link to comment

b1gbeauty89
Been trying to apply for a governement position way way back (dont ask na po when ) kaso sa requirements pa lang i mean yung basic documentation like letter of intent, certificate of emp, certificates of training , certified copy of eligibility, certified copy of TOR and diploma, official application form depende kung saan govt agency ka mag aapply which usually contains 5-7 pages , etc etc... not everyone can provide all of these all at once so by the time you finish this documentary requirement is tapos na yung deadline for submission ng application kasi they wouldnt process unless complete yung requirements eh...di pa kasama dito yung "padrino" system or "kakilala" mo on those govt agencies...and yet they keep on complaining na kulang sa tao ang mga govt agencies or that they have vacancies etc etc and yet they are very strict just with the documentation submission pa lang so i wonder paano ma fill up lahat ng vacancy...i wish the higher ups would do something about it....nakaka disappoint lang di po ako galit nagpapaliwanag lang Quote Link to comment

But the worst thing talaga is the freakin padrino system.
sendero
This is so true.Heck, sometimes when you email the person where you should address the application - their email would even reject it (over the limit daw yung size nung email Kaya Hindi matanggap) I mean wtf. But the worst thing talaga is the freakin padrino system.Yung may eligibility ka pero di ka pa din makakapasok Kasi "Wala Kang kakilalalang Eligibility" Presently, government jobs/ positions is more lucrative than in the private sector. Basic pay plus benefits is much higher in the government since the passing of Salary Standardization Law. The private sector is already left behind in terms of basic salary and security of tenure. Contractualization, En Do practice, non payment of benefits, no security of tenure is very much prevailing in the private sector especially for local companies. As my experience in applying for government position, 5 years ago I applied for a Supervisory Position (Salary Grade 22) which has a basic monthly salary of P 42,000. Now, try to browse at the same position and salary grade at any government agency, the basic monthly pay is already P 62,000. But the main setback is mahirap lumaban ng patas even though if you are much qualified in applying for a government position. You must have a backer/ padrino, recommendation from politicians for you to get hired. Plus the screening is very much stringent and takes a lot of process. You have to undergo a lot of tests and interviews. Another is that they prioritize insiders who are already employed with them in filling up vacant positions. Quote Link to comment
