It requires mastering techniques, planning / strategy, understanding team tactics in team play to become successful. An average game that takes only about 15-20 minutes to finish. It's basically a "hybrid" game. Sim, action, strategy, tweaker/modding game (ala NFS:U, but using mechs/robots instead) and team game, all rolled into one. Most good teams are composed of old players. And the community, eventhough competetive, is quite mature compared to most online games. Best of all, it can be played online using only 56k.
