sklardrog
The way some news articles are written and presented on the Philippine Daily Inquirer's website leave a lot to be desired. Critical but informative details are missed and a number of their reporters display a lack of empathy towards the people they write about. Case in point is a story that the Inquirer reported last August 12 about a miner that was rescued in Benguet after being trapped underground for a week. The reporter wrote that after the miner was successfully rescued, he was fed a breakfast of coffee, eggs and rice. The article ended there. The reporter didn't bother to report anything about the miner's emotional state after having been trapped underground for a week. It must have been a very traumatic experience and yet not a single word mentioned it. The reporter also failed to mention if the miner was sent to a hospital afterwards for proper medical evaluation. Nothing. From the way the piece was written and ended, a reader could be led to assume that the miner was sent home immediately after enjoying a hearty breakfast. Oh well.....
