@vicaner

if that's the case, ok na yan..just don't spend too much on PC there if u wont be stayin' long kasi it will be impractical na dalhin pa yan dito..i bet mas mura dito sa pinas courtesy of the chekwas.

Storage for Servers ang specialty nila. ngayon lang sila nag-start mag consumer marketing before kasi corporate lang yan..business to business.

Yung speakers mo, palitan mo ng Logitech Z-640 mas maganda bass and sound nun...yang creative, sabog ang tunog after sometime.

if u'll find Logitech X-620, the better.

good luck man.

@matsutsu

i think good idea yung small things. mem cards and USB drives would be nice cguro. how about..videocards? radeon 9700, 9700Pro, XT series..etc.

kailan ka ba uwi?

Jupiter:

I'll coming home next year in January (Chinese New Year).

Yung mga video cards ok din bumili ako pero my concern is yung handling at warranty.

The video cards' boxes are big.

Kung iuuwi ko sila, I have to put them in balikbayan box.

I've seen how they handle those boxes. Nakakatakot!

Aren't u worried about warranty?

jupiter thanks for all your input, much appreciated. I'm spending the money coz I want my pc to be good, i bought a pc just last year and it's already crap coz I bought it from the shop (the "special" already built packages they have) i've spent lots of money trying to power it up a bit and it all comes down to one thing, get the best parts you can already in one go so you wont regret anything later.

radeon 9100 is the one with 8 rendering pipelines? i thought it was the 9500 Pro series? are you sure? I've checked at Tom's hardware vid card comparison table and that's what i found out, maybe i blinked and missed it. will check again.

So far my speakers are good, the quality is crisp at di pa sumabog. I'll go check out the logitech speakers pero maybe next year na, ubos na ang budget natin.

matsutsu bringing computer parts to earn a little sideline money is a good idea but you have to check our customs policies bro, maraming buwaya sa airport at baka may "tax" ang dadalhin mo. better nga kung ang dadalhin mo ay yung flash cards at maliliit na items, also make sure na heavily protected sila kasi baka masira ng x-ray machines sa airport plus ang handling ng bags ay di mo rin maisisigurado. laking hirap naman kung masira during transit, babalik ka pa sa taiwan para mapapalitan. good luck!

Thanks sa advice.

May mga pinoy kasi dito na nag-stay lng for a month.

I plan to use them as my courier. :D

Syempre, small items at tipong indi madaling masira.

They only look at those ppl carrying big boxes at yung maraming alahas.

Fortunately for me, I only travel light at indi ako mahilig sa alahas.

dude, i had four trips as ofw, so far nde naman nila ginalaw mga boxes ko, save for the r/c racing bag na ubod ng bigat dahil sa parts ng equipment for it. pero never ako nag pay for anything...

in packing, put things in between clothes, towels, kumbaga sa gitna or core the box, kahit magbaliktad at tumambling sya, nde maaano yung mga items.

matsutsu, i used to do that also, the "pakisuyo" thingy, i had like a small business because of that...we guys out here in pinas deposit in dollar equivalent afterwhich a week later pauwi na yung order! dami naman courier dyan sa taiwan ah! GP is highly recommended!

@ warz, sure bro, you're welcome.

@matsutsu, magkano ABIT NF7-S ver 2.0 jan pre? how about Gigabyte 7NNXP? bka bili ako sayo. also, Creative Audigy2 ZS/ZC. I'll try to assess the risks. thanks!

Link to comment

thanks a lot man. :D

version 2.0 ba yung NF7-S? may lower versions pa kc nito.

so you mean, say NT 8800*0.66= Php 5808? yun na yung price nya?

how much babayaran ko sayo for example yung Abit NF7-S ver 2.0(although im still considering the Gigabyte 7NNXP) and Audigy2 ZS Pro? mejo di ko pa kc kabisado expenses and computations nito.

maraming salamat bro.

:)

@Jupiter

ay mali!

NT / 0.66 = Php

3,600 / 0.66 = 5454.54

Ganyan yung price nya.

ABIT NF7-S - 3,600 (Php 5454.54)

Gigabyte 7NNXP - 6,700 (Php 10151.51)

Creative Audigy2 ZS - 4,100 (Php 6212.12)

8,800 (Php 13333.33)

Yes, version 2 na yun.

Yung metrobank rate, it was last month. Indi ko alam this month.

Link to comment

im eyeing the ABIT NF7-S ver 2.0

dito kase may 7NNXP den..almost the same price. Yun na kasi ang dalawang cream of the crop sa Nforce2 boards.

ang difference lang naman nila, yung gigabyte, dual bios..so pag na-corrupt bios mo, may back up. Pero since may UPS naman ako, that is almost unlikely.

thanks a lot man! :)

dudes just updating you on what i've decided to buy. sorry bro jupiter but i'm going the Intel path coz of the lack of AMD support here although nag ti-trickle in na ang parts, i'm not too sure about the future of AMD here kaya mahihirapan ako sa upgrade in the future, and the last straw is the price. Limited ang places na nagbebenta kaya controlled nila ang market, the price is either equal to P4 or much higher w/c is very frustrating.

CPU P4 2.4C or 2.6C GHZ 800MHz Hyper Threading

Mobo Asus P4P800 deluxe i865 (or the non deluxe version due to price constraints)

HD Western Digital 80 GB 7200 RPM (sorry jupiter, hirap makahanap ng maxtor)

Memory Twinmoss 256 DDRAM 400MHZ (2pcs to activate the DUAL DDRAM)

Asus DVD Rom

Asus CD Rewriter

LG FLatron 17"

samsung optical Mouse

Creative 5.1 speakers

I currently have a GeForce 4 MX 440 (yes it's crap but it works still!) which I plan to keep till I get the extra moolah to buy a higher end video card.

Jupiter, is the Radeon 9200 a good enough buy? these are the ones available here that are not the all in wonder types.

I'm still considering though, I have till next week to decide kasi suweldo next week pa. any more suggestions from you peeps?

The best pa rin ang Intel Pentium Processor. Gaya ng bago nilang technology yung Centrino the best on wireless mobility and battery life extension

Gaya nung pc ko I've got a P3 933mhz mga 3 yrs ago ok na sana eh then now i've heard that pc store no longer sell P3 processor directly but you have to order it. Or sometimes may kasama nang mother board. Yung frend ko nasira yugn mother board nginat ngat daw ng daga P3 pa yun ngayon he need to buy both a processor and a motherboard mas maigi pa nun eh P4 na ipalit nya eh almost ganun din ang aabutin eh.

bro jupiter would you mind posting something like a table for video cards? or if not possible, would you mind rating an ATI 9200? para kasing mababa ang specs niya but the thing is it's available here at around $115 dollars, good buy na ba yun? mas maganda ba siya sa GFTi? w/c of the 9+++ series of radeons should i try to look for? wala ata yung 9100 dito mukhang maganda pa naman.

Help me decide, should I get a Radeon 9600 Pro 128mbor a GeForce FX5600 ultra 128mb? almost the same price range kasi, my brother will be going home this month and i'm asking him to get me a video card in manila.

bro, at $115, that 9200 is way too expensive there..dito

His Excalibur ATI 9200 128ddr tv-dvi P 4,150.00

His Excalibur ATI 9200 64ddr tv-dvi P 3,500.00

His Excalibur ATI 9200SE 128ddr tv-dvi P 3,300.00

His Excalibur ATI 9200SE 64ddr tv-dvi P 2,700.00

Although mas maganda yung brand na ATI talaga..next yung Sapphire..then tong HIS..

Between 9600 Pro and FX5600, ill certainly go with 9600Pro..

coz with the right cooling and drivers, this monster can go to 9800 speeds...about the FX5600...well, forget it na lang. ;)

Good luck..ang mahal pala jan no?

tama, pabili ka na dito. AMAP dapat Sapphire. yung figures above is just to give u and idea. Sapphire is slightly more expensive pero very little lang...mga 100-200 for the same model..pero mas overclockable.

True...true....

At syempre, u need to consider ur application.

If u just surf and chat on ur PC...then kahit P2 pa yung PC...ok lng.

If ur an avid gamer and want killer apps, then u better keep up with the hardware.

dudes! final tally (well partial, di pa ako nakabili ng new vid card eh)

CPU - P4 2.4C GHz HT FSB 800MHz

Mobo - MSI 865PE Neo2 HT/SATA/Dual DDR/800 MHz FSB

Memory-Twinmoss 256 DDRAM 400 MHZ (2 pcs)

Asus DVD rom

Asus CD-RW

Samsung 753DFX 17" Monitor

WD 80 GB 7200 rpm (ide only, no serial yet available dito)

OS windows XP professional

thanks sa lahat ng nagbigay ng inputs, i really wanted to go the AMD path kaya lang naging hesitant ako ng kaunti dahil sa scarcity ng parts, my brother is insisting on it though so yun ang next project namin.

roxysnonie whereabouts in greenhills bro? and how much did they go for?

jupiter/matsutsu thanks a lot guy's, let's keep each other posted on what's the best buy when it comes to pc's ;)
