N F L - National Football League

Recommended Posts

The Eagles thrive being a low-key team. For sure, Johnson will give the offense a tremendous jolt - at the expense of having doubts on when he will bark at McNabb, Marty Mornhinweg, and Andy Reid.

As for the Niners, I would say that their need is even. Due to the ineptness of the counterparts, the defense needs to play extended minutes. Yet, their front four doesn't look to scare away anybody.

Just read somewhere, Green Bay GM Ted Thompson said that they are thinking about getting a QB as the 30th pick. Yet he quickly stated that Aaron Rodgers will still be their man.

I can't imagine Favre wearing another uniform. Maybe a t-shirt with a team logo and a headset :headsetsmiley:

theres some really serious talks about favre coming back .. but not as a packer .. which i think is blasphemy

eagles were very good in the first year of TO ... ocho cinco will be the same .. after the first year all bets are off ... lol

Shaun Hill? Or maybe Mike Martz's pet JT O'Sullivan?

Injuries and poor coaching snuffed the playmaking juice out of Alex Smith. Maybe he'll get things in order this season. If he can't, the Niners will still have enough to fill the void in QB - with a top first-rounder in the 2009 draft.

Mike Martz + Chad Johnson = an enticing combination marred by vanity that will can lead to the complete disintegration of a proud franchise.

I wonder how will the Raiders defense fare this year, especially with the Nnamdi Asomugha/DeAngelo Hall combination in CB.

*Maybe the Niners will jump into the Ocho Cinco fray, they NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN SCORE.

*Cincinnati has a bad share of dud draft picks for defense.

Cincy's Defensive picks weren't necessarily busts---most (if not all) of them just ended up with debilitating injuries.

it's been tough really since they spent the last 5 or so picks shoring up the D only to have these guys get hurt so bad and miss good chunks of the past few years.

it's about as close to the Spinal Tap drummer curse you can get sports-wise.

and inasmuch as 8-5 would look good in red and gold, he may very well balk at that knowing how Smith has underwhelmed thus far.

Philly's good though you can very well expect him to throw everyone under the bus (again) if things go south.

in the end, it could boil down to who could afford him though---both salary and baggage-wise.

cincy turned down a blockbuster deal from the redskins for ocho cinco .. man looks like ocho cincos bluff didnt pay off ...

on a sidenote .. for all his talk and showmanship .. 85 has been a very good player on the field and he hasnt been really bad off the field to .. except for this year .. id say TO was worse ... TO is a petulant child compared to 85...

jake long is officially the first overall pick of the 08 draft ...

new era in seattle ....

thats why i dont find it surprising that football players whine about money ... they sign a long term contract .. less than half is guaranteed ... half way thru the contract they get cut bec their production slows down .... thats why im not surprised urlacher is complaining for a new contract .. chi benefitted from his best years now that hes getting banged up they move on to devin hester

And I am worried about the Bears giving so much attention to Devin Hester. Is Desmond Howard not enough to be a precaution?

It is a sad thing that as a player pushes himself to limit in order to excel, he tends to punish his body to the point that it breaks up. This is exactly what happened to Shaun Alexander. The pursuit of a record made him brittle. I now hope that he could at least squeeze some more juice to eke out another good year or two.

As for Chad, it can all boil down to losing, enough said.

Jake Long reminds me of Tony Boselli. Chad Johnson should just stay put in Cincy. It is where he belongs. The stripes on their uniform reminds one that each bengal is a felon or has the propensity to become one.

I thought it was their orange color that gave them that subliminal message to be felons...

hehehe

anyway, I think I'd agree with what bro DH said that Ocho Cinco really shows a lot of professionalism on the field that eventhough he's not liking his situation in Cincinnati now he still plays the game like there was no problems. I have never once heard that Chad gave an uninspired performance the whole time he's complaining with what is happening with the Bengals...
