gift_of_game
Favre's a lifer. he's itchy and healthy so I don't really know if anyone's gonna be surprised if he suits up midseason. Quote Link to comment
teio
who knows, but he'll be rusty when he decides to go under the center for green bay... Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
this would all depend on how aaron rodgers performs under the gun `coz if he falters, a rusty (but otherwise healthy and refreshed) Favre may be an extremely enticing option. Quote Link to comment
cheeselogger
I'm hoping Miami doesn't drop the ball with their pick/s and signings this offseason as it is hard to look at an once feared franchise be a one-trick pony short of being a cheap circus show... Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
they got Tuna. that's at least gotta count for something. Quote Link to comment
cheeselogger
the "original" Bill though is just much as the same as a loaner, they would probably on have him for a maximum 4 years I think... Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
to his credit, he does know how to put a good team together. Quote Link to comment
cheeselogger
^with that one I wouldn't disagree. after all, the team he last handled is now one of the "elite" teams in the NFL... Quote Link to comment
teio
I hope you read the article (http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/story/500530.html) wherein Jeff Ireland had a slip regarding on who the Fins will be drafting first. He hinted that they will be getting some defensive guy, contrary to the belief that they have their eyes zeroed in on Boston College stud Matt Ryan. There could be some truth behind this as Miami had already met with the agents of defensive ends Jake Long and Vernon Gholston. Miami might be avoiding the similar pain that the Oakland Raiders had with last year's top pick JaMarcus Russell, which nearly lead to a holdout. The Houston Texans had the same draft day dilemma a couple of years back, shocking everybody by passing up Reggie Bush and Vince Young and nabbing Mario Williams instead. Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
thanks for the heads-up bro.I never really bought the Matt Ryan talk since they end up doing a lot more by going with either Gholston or Long. Quote Link to comment
denimhead
the number 1 overall pick isnt as good as it was ... now you have to worry about negotiations with the pick .. and they dont come cheap .. russell got 30 mill last year my only knock on the tuna would be once the going gets tough he jumps ship .. look at the jets and the cowboys... once he couldnt have his way he upped and left Edited April 21, 2008 by denimhead Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
^do you think he's worth the dough?or did Al Davis end up paying for a long-term project that won't earn his keep up until it's time to sign a new deal? Quote Link to comment
denimhead
the potential is worth 30 mill ..but jamarcus might end up being the next akili smith..... al davis has been running oakland like its his own country .... job security sure counts for something Quote Link to comment
denimhead
bengals should just trade ocho cinco .... no sense forcing him to stay when he doesnt want to stay and the bears should just pay urlacher..... hes the franchise after all Edited April 21, 2008 by denimhead Quote Link to comment
