very impressive victory for cain..he is surely able! he succeeded where carwin failed. he was very efficient with this strikes. he was so calm and composed and i think that is the trait of a true champion. I AGREE

after such a performance, i'm going to write off brock now. there's no way he'll be able to beat cain velasquez if they were ever to have a rematch. I DO NOT AGREE With more training brock can beat cain

looks like cain could be champ for a long time. the only obvious weakness he has imo is his chin. can't wait for JDS vs Cain. that's gonna be incredible. TRUE

disappointing loss for kampmann. he really could've won that fight in the 3rd round if he just decided not the go to the canvas. i mean shields was practically a zombie on his feet and with kampmann's superior striking he should've won that one. so frustrating watching that fight. HALF TRUE KAMPMANN should have kept the fight standing when he had the chance. shield's ground game is a work of art (whatever that means)

with shield's performance in this one, i'm confident he'd have a hard time against either kos or GSP but definitely more so against GSP. siguro styles make fights and those two guys are nightmare matchups for shields. are you kidding me? bring shields to the ground and chaqnces are you are going to tap

should still be interesting to see how the grappling contest goes though. true

also disappointed with thiago. he was doing so well in the first round. he was winning the exchanges and got the better of the ground game. unfortunately he couldn't sustain the pace and just gassed in the 2nd which made things a walk in the park for diego. true

lol at the huntington beach badboy. he is so irrelevant now. he keeps on saying how's he's healthy bla bla bla and yet his performances are still so lame. though i must admit his striking looked much better now than it did in all his previous fights. but i'm inclined to think that it's due to the fact that hammill isn't exactly a stud in the striking dept either. he should just quit and stop thinking he's still a force to be reckoned with. all he is now is a named fighter... true

This makes Velasquez the first Mexican world heavyweight champion in a combat sport. I think he'd stop Dos Santos via ground and pound when they meet. I expected Cain to win over Lesnar coz of his speed. If Dana grants Shields a shot at the title, this would be unfair for guys like Fitch and Condit.

Dude check out Shield's recent record unbeaten since 02005-11-122005-11-12 and he defeated legitimate opponents

Well in MMA, they say you're only as good as your last fight especially in the UFC. Even with an impressive record, his last appearance was very lacklustered. Do you think his last fight is of title fight caliber? Didn't seem to be one IMO. An impressive win would propel him to face GSP but not his victory against Kampmann.

getting back to 170 after fighting for championships at 185 took its toll probably sir. i wasn't impressed with Kampmann either, if he was the badass he claimed he was he should've ko'ed Shields when he had the chance...

Been a while since I posted. Big combat Sports Weekend coming up.

Sat Nov 13th is URCC 18: Relentless. My good friend and teammate Jerry Legaspi is featured against Submission Sports Philippines' BJJ Purple Belt Froilan Sarenas (who I had the privilege of meeting in the FFC cage myself back in 2006). Froi's one of the very best grapplers we got in the country but Jerry's a veteran who's got knockout power in his punches. Also my muay thai coach Kru Sulpiano Laurio is featured in the opener against veteran Onyok Trasmonte who was also with submission sports philippines (until recently I think).

Nov 14th of course is Pacman-Margarito day and we all know who were rooting for in this one. And UFC 122 I like Okami over Marquardt in the main event. I hope he can replicate how Chael Sonnen was able to basically shut him down (I know he had been training right after he lost to Sonnen in a similar number one contender type match). As for the co-main event I'm picking Jorge Rivera over Sakara. Sakara's more technical but Jorge has shown back in the past he has more heart. Remember how Sakara simply faded after dominating a similarly styled fighter Drew Mcfedries after dominating him during the earlier stages of their matchup.
