geneticfreak
It would be better for Dana White if he made a GSP-Penn 3. Their first fight was controversial since gulpi si GSP but the judges still gave it to GSP. The second fight was tainted with "Greasegate". The third fight will settle who's better between the 2. My bet is on Penn. In my opinion, BJ is better than GSP in striking. Eto na naman tayo sa allegations sa grease gate na yan. tsk. Think of it this way... In what aspect of the Penn-GSP fight did the alleged 'Greasing' come into play??? That would have been 'GSP passing BJ's guard'. But if you review the entire fight and you think about it... even if GSP had stayed a lot longer in BJ's guard he still would have won on account of first 'octagon control' (GSP clearly tired Penn out by pressing him against the fence and doing what we call in wrestling as 'pummeling' on Penn, which clearly had him gassed in the latter rounds) and his takedowns (GSP was able to take BJ down at will time and time again in the fight -- attribute this to GSP's ever improving wrestling and his superior size)... GSP was also able to cause a lot of damage to BJ even when he was in his guard. So kahit alisin naten yung part where GSP was able to easily pass BJ's guard in that fight (due to some alleged grease) he still would have won. He still would have either stopped him or won en route to a unanimous decision (with the fight result similar to what happened to GSP's fight with Thiago Alves). The thing is when fighters are as equally talented as BJ and GSP other factors come into play. Factors like conditioning, size, weight and training. simply put GSP is a natural albeit a big welterweight and BJ is a lightweight no doubt about that and that did come into play in that fight. Ni si BJ nga hindi nagreklamo after that fight and admitted he lost fair and square. I love BJ as much as the next guy... I myself am a practitioner (bluebelt) of BJJ and I look up to him but heck this allegations of greasing just gotta stop already. BJ lost that fight fair and square and he came out the better after it... look at him now. Sabi nga ni Joe Rogan... BJ was getting well on talent alone during the early part of his career... but now with losses to people like Hughes and especially after that loss to GSP he was finally convinced he did need a strength and conditioning program to complement his skills training and look where it has gotten him... He is simply the very best lightweight in the world, the very best lightweight of all time. P.S. IMO BJ is better at boxing than GSP but GSP is the more well-rounded and dynamic striker among the two. Edited December 15, 2009 by geneticfreak Quote Link to comment
jkarbb5
BJ is a great fighter, the best of his generation. But he pissed me off with his sore looser antics in the GSP match. In my opinion, he still has to work on his this area to cement his claim to "greatness". I hope he show a little more "class" the next time. Quote Link to comment

But to settle this, Dana should put up a third fight between BJ and GSP. Quote Link to comment
El Chapo
I love to see GSP vs Penn 3, I think Penn has improved dramatically since his loss to GSP specially in Cardio and Striking. http://i46.tinypic.com/rc7uyv.png Quote Link to comment

With BJ having a better training program, it would be interesting to see how he fares against GSP. Or perhaps Anderson Silva vs. GSP, another surefire crowddrawer. Quote Link to comment

bRIX
UFC 107: Mir copied ‘The Pacquiao punch’ to KO Kongo Mir explained: “It’s something we’ve been saying the whole training camp. We call it “The Pacquiao,” because Manny Pacquiao will step off as a southpaw and throw the overhand left. As soon as I hit Kongo I went to catch him with the uppercut and I didn’t see him, he was on the ground.” Quote Link to comment
