Larry
I don't have much time to go to gym or dojo except for the house of my old man where i used to train before but now that my old man is dead I want to check if I can still fight, If I still can then I will find a good group to join and train. don't take this the wrong way, but train first then fight, not the other way around. Big chance that you'll get seriously hurt if you fight first then train. MMA is a complicated sport, you can't just put gloves on and brawl, if you want to fight, and succeed, do it properly. Larry
Sorry if out of topic please delete if necessary. Q: where is the best place to train mma/bjj around manila? Thanks I can't give an opinion as to what the "best" school is, because my answer would be biased. But all of the BJJ academies here are quality (the Philippines has one of the most active and winningest BJJ communities in all of south east asia, we have the most homegrown black belts too) there's a deftac group in La Salle you can check that out http://deftacphilippines.com/ You can also train with judo legend and BJJ blackbelt John Baylon in Manila (If you don't know who John Baylon is, I suggest googling him) http://johnbaylonbjj.com/ There's also KMA in Makati, under World Champion Stephen Kamphuis. http://www.bjjphilippines.com/main/?q=kamphuis Atos BJJ with Ali Sulit https://www.facebook.com/pages/Atos-Philippines/131584253567620 here's a full list of BJJ schools in the Philippines (sorry got tired of googling every single one as there's a lot) http://www.bjjfp.com/main/official_schools Edited May 11, 2015 by Larry Quote Link to comment
WitMystery
I appreciate the effort sir Larry. Thanks for the list. KMA is near my place. If they stay open late, I'll try and see if I can squeeze in some stuff there. Quote Link to comment

Larry
I want vitor to win, but Weidman is just too strong and too skilled to lose this one. Quote Link to comment
WitMystery
Wish it were Machida up next. I always like watching him fight. That being said, Vitor or Chris, as long as Rockhold is up next it won't matter. Hahahaha! Quote Link to comment
gwapingsz1
I want vitor to win, but Weidman is just too strong and too skilled to lose this one. I am a Vitor Belfort fan since the open weight tournaments of the UFC. I have seen him lose and I saw him improve outside the UFC. Significant improvement in his striking was observed during his stint in Affliction MMA. Afterwards, he moved back to the UFC were he dominated until he lost to Anderson. I believe that losing to Anderson made him realize that kicks are an effective weapon because he defeated his last 2 opponents (Michael Bisping by headkick and Luke Rockhold by spinning heel kick) using kicks as the most damaging strike. He also used kicks more often in his last 2 fights compared to all of his previous fights. I am rooting for Vitor. However, I also give credit to Weidman's skills. His strong wrestling base will obviously be a big factor since I do not expect him to stand toe to toe against Belfort unless he plans to land a head kick (front kick) like Anderson. Vitor is not know for his ground work against decorated wrestlers. It will be interested to see how the fight will unfold. Whatever happens "The Phenom" will always one of the most exciting fighters in history. Quote Link to comment
Angas ng Tondo
yeah...what a world class assh*le..true he is an outstanding fighter...sadly not an outstanding human being. at least dana has a bit of decency by stripping jones of his belt. sana mabulok na sya sa kulungan, para hindi pamarisan!
