kuya willie
poor mark munoz, kung kelan sya na hype ng local tv station eh dun pa sya nagkaroon ng devastating loss, he will be a good gatekeeper lang sa middle weight Quote Link to comment
El Chapo
^ malamang gatekeeper lang talaga maging role nya, like brandon vera. sayang talaga akala ko, come from behind na naman like majority of his fights kaso magaling din talaga si Weidman. Sabi nga lage one step ahead against Mark Edited July 12, 2012 by BenRomansa Quote Link to comment
CorpseGrinder
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlvoski signs on for ONE FC: 'Pride of a Nation' in Manila Details are gradually starting to emerge about the lineup for the star-studded ONE FC: 'Pride of a Nation' show which is taking place in Manila on August 31st. Former Strikeforce champion Renato Sobral is already confirmed as are current DREAM champions Shinya Aoki and Bibiano Fernandes. Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Andrei Arlovski is the latest addition. The event will be the biggest in the history of Filipino mixed martial arts (MMA) and is taking place in the 16,500 capacity Areneta Coliseum which famously hosted the 'Thrilla in Manila', the 1975 fight between Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali. A number of URCC champions such as Kevin Belingon, Eric Kelly and Eduard Folayang are also set to feature. Gregor Gracie, Igor Gracie and Rolles Gracie will also be in action as will UFC, Pride and Strikeforce veteran Phil Baroni. One fighter who will not feature is Ole Laursen who according to the ONE FC facebook feed is no longer on the card. http://cdn0.sbnation.com/images/blog/star-divide.v59c7267.jpg After employing Chris John as a 'brand ambassador' in Indonesia earlier this year rumour has it that ONE FC are in discussions with Manny Pacquiao with a view to having him attend next week's press conference as well as the event itself. The boxer is friendly with a few of the Baguio based fighters including Eric Kelly who he has trained with at a boxing gym there in the past. Further details about the card will be announced at the official press conference which is scheduled for the Discovery Hotel in Pasig City, Manila on July 18th and is likely to be attended by the likes of Aoki, Fernandes and Arlovski. Negotiations with another former UFC champion, <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/131344/jens-pulver" class="sbn-auto-link">Jens Pulver, are believed to be at an advanced stage with a view to him fighting one of the Filipino fighters at ONE FC: 'Pride of a Nation'. Another fight reportedly in the mix is the one between Sobral and Manhoef which has originally been scheduled for Singapore in March but as of now no matchups are confirmed. To the best of my knowledge none of the fighters below are facing one another so there are currently 11 blanks which will be hopefully be filled in at the press conference next Wednesday. Regardless of what the final card looks like with two DREAM champions, two former UFC champions, a former Strikeforce champion and three URCC champions it is set to be one of the most momentous events of the Asian MMA year. source: http://www.mmamania.com/2012/7/13/3154380/former-ufc-heavyweight-champion-andrei-arlvoski-signs-on-for-one-fc Quote Link to comment
CorpseGrinder
Andrei Arlovski & Jens Pulver Signed to One FC 5 One FC returns for its fifth event on Aug. 31 in the Philippines for “Pride of a Nation.” A month and a half out from the show and fights for the event are starting to leak out. MMAWeekly.com sources on Monday revealed that former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski would square off with Sao Palelei as part of One FC 5, as well as a bout featuring former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver facing Eric Kelly. Arlovski (17-9) has had a difficult time gaining traction since he left the UFC in 2008. He won his first two bouts out of the gate, but then fell into a four-fight skid that saw him lose all three fights under his Strikeforce tenure. He has bounced back recently winning back-to-back bouts over Ray Lopez and Travis Fulton under the resurrected ProElite banner. Palelei (17-3) is also a UFC veteran, but had only one fight in the Octagon before he was sent packing off of a loss. He returned to Australia and is currently on a seven-fight winning streak, most recently defeating Bob Sapp in May. Having contemplated retirement when he exited the WEC, Pulver (26-16-1) has instead weathered on, going 4-3 since he left the Zuffa family. He’ll face a tough test in Kelly, who is 7-0 as a professional mixed martial artist, including two under the One FC banner and five fights in the Philippines. One FC 5 is also expected to feature the promotional debuts of former Dream champions Shinya Aoki and Bibiano Fernandes, who both recently signed with the promotion. Quote Link to comment
