totally agree bro. i felt the same way about the GSP vs Koschek II trailer. that for me is still the best ufc trailer (esp. since i'm a GSP fanboy). i hated the song they used but it just sounded like the perfect song when i saw the trailer.

I love this trailer because this is one of my SF vs UFC dream matches (back when Jake was with SF), this fight will be very interesting if it hits the ground. Shields can tap anybody from the ground (as long as he does not gas out like his last fight with Kampmann)

Anderson reacts to Jon Jones wins and the possible superfight between them.

Phoenix, AZ -- English author Henry Taylor's famous quote about greatness was said well before the 2011 sports culture where an athlete can become a star overnight. On Saturday night mixed martial arts top pound for pound fighter Anderson Silva (28-4) watched possible future all-time great Jon Jones (13-1) take his place alongside the six other current UFC title holders. Silva made a rare appearance in the state of Arizona to corner two of his training partners at Rage in the Cage 150 at the Wild Horse Pass Casino.

Stationed in the fighter's locker room at 9:15 PST Silva and his team settled in a front row seat around a small screen that was broadcasting UFC 128. When the UFC's 185 pound champion sat in his folding chair the rest of locker room, filled mostly with local amateur fighters, huddled around Silva with one eye on the tiny screen and the other looking for any reaction from one of the sport's living legends.

Silva, dressed head to toe in black and yellow Sinister brand clothing, sat and spoke nothing more than the occasional Portuguese whisper to his team as both champion Mauricio Rua (19-5) and the challenger Jones walked to the cage.

With his hand planted on his chin Silva watched the first round of Rua vs. Jones in silence. With 90 seconds to go in the first round Jones let Rua up after manhandling him on the ground. Observing the fight Silva in English stated "It's over, it's over," with a minute remaining in the round and Jones looking like the UFC's new 205 pound champion.

Towards the end of the opening round of the Rua vs. Jones bout, RITC 150 had to come to its intermission and a collection of ring card girls, staff members as well as Jones's previous opponent Ryan Bader joined the locker room masses in viewing the title fight.

A spinning back elbow from Jones in the second round brought forth a moment of gleeful raw emotion from Silva as the Brazilian reached for his own cranium and hooted in delight at the improvisational striking display. For the reminder of the fight Silva sat focused on the screen while the crowd gathered behind him booed and cheered Jones's championship display. When the fight was halted Silva's film study stopped and his role as cornerman to fighters Paulo Goncalves Silva and Damaso Pereira began.

When asked to evaluate Jon Jones performance Silva abandoned his native language and conducted an interview in English.

"Tonight, Jon Jones he is amazing. This is new for Jon Jones." Silva said "Jon Jones will go on with more fights, more experience, more techniques. My opinion is Jon Jones is the best, he will be a champion for a longtime."

With a potential super-fight between UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in his crosshairs Silva dismissed any notions of moving between weight classes at this juncture of his career. Despite internet rumors or even a post-fight tweet from UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta about the possibility of a Silva vs. Jones fight, the current MMA pound for pound king refuses to chase opponents.

"I'm very happy. I have my problems (at middleweight)." Silva said. "I'm very happy where I'm working, with my technique and my team. I don't have any plans up or down. I'm very happy."

Iron sharpens iron and greatness begets greatness. When MMA's current ruler watches the sport's fastest rising star become the youngest UFC champion in the promotion's history there is a level of greatness to the lens which Anderson Silva views that moment. Will the 35 year old Anderson Silva ever stand across the cage from a 23 year old Jon Jones? If, you listen to Silva's words, without the normal filter of a Portuguese to English interpreter, the answer is an causal "no thank you".

A MMA world without a Silva-Jones super-fight is a landscape that will not affect either man's legacy or diminish the importance of his accomplishments in the sport.

- i know AS is very consistent that we wants to retire in MW prior to Chael fight, in that time i believe Bones latest win was against "the janitor" or brandor vera, just a rising star and not yet a beast he is known today..im a big AS fan, but this seems that he is ducking Jon Jones..i cant blame, Jones is the largest LHW in the world, he will have a hard time defeating that guy..Jones just drawfed Bader, who is a huge LHW..but, i hope im wrong and that AS just said that so that Zuffa can pay him more money..wish that fight will happen asap, since AS is getting past his prime..

the possibility of Randy beating Lyoto for me is bleak... stylistically Machida's style is anti-wrestling/dirty boxing

it would really be entertaining if Randy is able to keep Lyoto or even get Lyoto in the clinch, and takedown defense wise Machida has a damn good base and is really hard to take down... even Nakamura a judoka had trouble taking him down, and then them wrestlers like Rashad, Page, Tito had difficulty taking him down. Cap doesn't have the KO power to down Machida

but heck it's MMA and we might be in for a surprise

yup..MMA is very unpredictable..and you can never discount a guy like Couture.he is been an underdog in all of his fights, yet he still manages to win.. win or lose,im a big Couture fan, but i hope Machida keeps on winning so he can challege Jones asap.but, it will take time since he came from back-to-back losses..

hey guys, just noticed this..i am not discrediting the win of Jones, but it seems that sometimes he is going beyond the rules.though this didnt change the outcome of the fight..cant find the gifs, but if you rewatched it you can see what im talking about.

lists of fouls under the unified rules

#1.Butting with the Head

1st round - 25 seconds remaining. Jones headbutt the stomach of Shogun

#12. Throat strikes of any kind

1st round - 2:29. Jones elbowed the throat of Rua

1st round - 2 seconds remaining hit again the throat of Shogun

2nd round - 30 seconds remaining, elbowed again the throat. Herb Dean, warned him about that.

2nd round - 13 seconds remaining, elbowed again

True... Jones did some illegal strikes, same as the the Hammil fight 12-6 elbows. He even knee'd Rua while one knee was down. After that Shogun was never the same... thou I still believe Jones would have beat Shogun but not that fast, he made it looked so easy! That Jackson camp is something... "magulang" rin tlga! Hehe...

By the way UFC bought Strikeforce... Big fights coming!!! Next in line Bellator! Hahaha...

Key word of the night - Wrestling!

Phil Davis won using wrestling as well..

Just a thought, lets see the current UFC champs:

HW: Cain Velasquez

LHW: Jon Jones

MW: Anderson Silva

WW: GSP

LW: Frankie Edgar

FW: Jose Aldo

BW: Dominick Cruz

From those bunch only Anderson Silva and Jose Aldo does not use wrestling. Of course Anderson would have lost if he had not caught Chael.

Aldo, on the other hand has (in my opinion) Chad Mendes as a serious contender which is also a wrestler.

My point? May mga Pinoy MMA practioners ba na may wrestling background?

wow, Phil Davis is really making a name in the lhw division. i wanna see him fight a good wrestler next time that can exploit his skills. what the f#&k happen to dan hardy? after his loss to gsp, his career was on a downward spiral. is that a crippler crossface? impressive submission win by zombie.

i dont remember he kneed Rua while he was down..maybe ur talking about the shin-to-the-face while Rua's left arm is still down..nsa GIF ko ata yun sa taas..pro, im not sure about that, kc patayo na rin c Shogun nun..

and i wonder why the throat strikes didnt get any publicity.he did it a number of times..it seems that Jones uses illegal strikes when the things didnt goes his ways..kya nga yung appeal nila sa DQ against the Hamill fight didnt materialize..he cant finish Hamill on that fight, kya natempt xa mag 12-6 elbows..the same with Shogun fight, though the throat strikes didnt do any significant damage..Jones is amazing, but i hope he can correct his actions..overhyped pa rin xa..he's talented but he beat the Shogun who isnt 100%..though i doubt if the outcome will be different if Shogun is healthy.

i agree that the Jackson camp is testing the rules..

Machida has one of the most effective trips in MMA..just not sure if he can use it to takedown Jones.

But so is Bones..
