Wanderlei was simply awesome with BJ being as calculated and cold in his fight against Sherk. Next big MMA fight will be on June 1 with World Extreme Championship between Faber and Pulvers for its featherweight title (145 lbs). Pulvers was the 1st guy to inflict a loss to BJ's record via a unanimous decision. There is the supposed match between Tim and Fedor also being bragged about. Quote Link to comment

Larry Posted May 25, 2008 Share Posted May 25, 2008 nice to see Wandy back in his element again I was afraid for Jardine, man Wand had him by the throat, I thought he was gonna get killed right there! My real fear is that Wanderlei suddenly gets blood lust and starts soccer kicking Jardine ala his Pride days. That would have been great but that would have been the end for Wandy. That was amazing. that BJJ dude had really slick moves, and nice to see someone work the Anaconda in the octagon. Penn is a phenom. he fought very intelligently, picking his shots and waited for the right moment. You could see it in his eyes that he knew he was gonna win. Sherk went in too pumped up for that fight, almost emotional. He was just flailing wildly with his Barney-like reach always falling short. I was wondering when he'd start to try taking Penn down, he'd have a bigger chance of taking Penn down or at least clinching and scoring with knees and elbows, instead of blocking BJs jabs with his face.
