geneticfreak
If you can change. And i can change. Then Everybody can Change!!! hehe Nate Quarry. Funny as hell. The next UFC will be awesome. the three featured bouts alone are worth the price of admission already. (or in this case the price of a pay per view) Its like having three main events in one card. Sherk vs. Penn (I pick Sherk in this one) Wanderlei vs. Jardine (Silva is still my hero despite the recent losses) and Machida vs. Tito (Im looking forward to the Dragon whooping Tito's a** and shutting him up) May 24th so that'll May 25th here. I can't wait. Just can't wait. Quote Link to comment

Larry
bringing him down by Fedor is what needs to be seen first chief...you make it sound as fedor has fought the best HWs there is? uhm fedor already has fought and beaten the best heavyweight there is he has beaten the current UFC HW champion twice in the past plus a prime Mirko Crocop and a prime Kevin Randleman. who has Tim Sylvia beat? in the past 2 years he has only beat one top 10 guy, and that was Andrei Arlovski, who is fighting out of his weightclass at over 205, other than that who? Look way beyond that and you'll see that he has beat Ricco Rodriguez (who was fat and on the downslide), a comebacking Tra Telligman, an out of his league Wes Sims, and the Tank Abbot replica Cabbage Correira. 3 out of those four guys aren't even in the top 10 in their weight class. as i can see Tim would be the best he'd faced in a long time. same time Tim's boring fights would be due to his opponents' gameplan, if you saw how Couture UD'd him? uhm no Couture fought like that because he had to negate the size difference. How would YOU fight a 6'8 , 260lb lummox? Tim Sylvia really is the most boring and unathletic MMA fighter to date. Tim was able to impose his will, if you checked it out it wasn't a jab to the UD victory for him, he effectively nullified Vera's leg kicks by keeping the distance short for his better hands than Brandon's (sad to say but that is true), then he clinches with Vera & then forces him to the cage to eliminate Brandon taking him down with Brandon on top. uhm no Brandon didn't execute the game plan, re-watch the fight and you can see that when brandon was using his low kicks and his jab, Tim wasn't able to close the distance. Brandon for some reason didn't execute the game plan. Tim isn't the best HW Fedor has fought as of late, his last fight was with Matt Lindland, who can easily beat Tim Sylvia. Quote Link to comment

Larry
Kalib Starnes cut by UFC due to his disappointing performance UFC cuts Starnes after disgraceful performanceBy Kevin Iole It was a great night for mixed martial arts on Saturday in Montreal, as an enthusiastic sellout crowd of 21,390 packed the Bell Centre to watch hometown hero Georges St. Pierre reclaim the UFC welterweight title from Matt Serra at UFC 83. It wasn't such a good night, though, for Kalib Starnes, who spent most of the evening running from Nate Quarry in their middleweight bout. A native of Surrey, B.C., Starnes was booed heavily by the Canadian crowd that had been boisterous in its support of all the other Canadians on the card. After losing a unanimous decision on scores of 30-26, 30-27, and an unheard-of 30-24, Starnes received even worse news: He was cut from his contract by UFC president Dana White. "He just doesn’t belong in the UFC and after his performance the other night, he should consider a new line of work," White said Monday. more from Yahoo! Sports LOL @ starnes Quote Link to comment

Brandon for some reason didn't execute the game plan. Tim isn't the best HW Fedor has fought as of late, his last fight was with Matt Lindland, who can easily beat Tim Sylvia. so like i said, it was Tim's opponents who make the fights boring, i mentioned Couture surprised him with that bomb in the 1st and then clinched & dirty boxed Tim for a UD. the Vera fight if you watch closely, Vera wanted the separation as he was getting smothered by Sylvia in the cage, when he gets that bit of separation Sylvia immediately makes his hands busy to close the gap, so don't say that he didn't close the gap. and saying that Fedor's best HW opponent as of late is Matt Lindland? c'mon dude Matt Lindland is a natural MW, really a big size advantage for fedor there if you ask me. i mean Matt is a great fighter, but he'd be outclassed by HW fighters just by the sheer size/weight. and you say Matt vs Tim = Matt as the victor? that's puzzling, i'd take Tim to win on that fight even if the fight would be a boring jab fest. i'm no Tim Sylvia fan nor a big Fedor fan either, i'm a MMA fan and all i said was you can't count a fighter out unless after the fight, so Tim Sylvia still has a chance to win against Fedor since they haven't fought yet. if you're so convinced that Tim Sylvia is a boring and unathletic fighter to date, that is your opinion and you are respected for that. yes Tim's fights have been boring as of late, but after that back surgery i'd say there was an improvement with how he fights, just take the Vera fight, he took the fight to Vera not vice versa as people would like to think. lestat41
Kalib Starnes deserves what he got,,imagine just running away from Nate Quarry for the whole 15 minutes...I don't know if he will get a job with the other promotions,,,still possible but its not going to be easy..GSP completely destroys Matt Serra and Rich Franklin fought very well against Travis Lutter,,with the next UFC coming next month,,technically there are 3 main events on this fight card..lightweight title on the line and 2 big light heavyweight bouts..can't wait for this.. The Fedor-Sylvia fight will be a big one,,I'm going with Fedor in this one,,he works well on the ground and he can simply take the bigger guy down for ground and pound or submission. Sylvia likes the fight standing up because of his striking skills and his size advantage. I really hope Fedor will sign with UFC and I'm sure Randy Couture will be excited to come back and face the guy..maybe its better to settle things between Couture and Nogueira to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion,,the winner faces fedor in a title match.. Assasin's Creed
JAMES IRVIN TO FACE RASHAD EVANS AT UFC 85 The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Monday announced that Chuck Liddell had to withdraw from his UFC 85 main event bout against Rashad Evans due to an injury. "Unfortunately, Chuck Liddell tore his right hamstring during training last week, and being the warrior that he is, he still wanted to fight, which is the reason why everyone in the world loves him," said UFC president Dana White. "But I wouldn't let anyone fight with his leg looking that way. Let him heal and come back and fight when he is 100 percent." Although the UFC has made no formal announcement, MMAWeekly.com was able to confirm that James Irvin has agreed to step in and face Evans on June 7 in London in Liddell’s absence. Sources close to both fighters’ camps acknowledged the bout. Irvin competed recently at the April 2 event in Broomfield, Colo., which makes for a quick return by UFC standards. His bout with Houston Alexander lasted just eight seconds though, leaving Irvin tied with Don Frye for the quickest knockout in UFC history. Following an impressive knockout of Sean Salmon little more than a year ago, Evans enters the bout coming off of a frustrating draw with former UFC champion Tito Ortiz and then a split decision over Michael Bisping. Neither Evans nor Irvin were available for comment at the time of publication. Evans on Monday, however, expressed to MMAWeekly his disappointment at the withdrawal of Liddell, but indicated he wanted to remain on the fight card, not wanting to go an extended period of time without a fight. In Liddell, UFC 85 loses much of the drawing power of its headline bout. The promotion intends to make up for that by loading up UFC 85 with 13 bouts, which is the most that it has had on one fight card in more than a decade. "We're adding fights to the card and rearranging it so the U.K. fans won't have to worry, we'll still be bringing an amazing card to London and the O2 Arena,” said White. There has also been recent speculation that popular British fighter and Ultimate Fighter season three winner Michael Bisping – fresh off of a victory over Charles McCarthy this past weekend in Montreal – may become a late addition to the fight card. UFC 85 Bouts (officially announced):-Rashad Evans vs. James Irvin-Fabricio Werdum vs. Brandon Vera-Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera-Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites-Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman-Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick-Luis Arthur Cane vs. Jason Lambert-Neil Wain vs. Antoni Hardonk UFC 85 Bouts (unannounced):-Ryo Chonan vs. Roan Carneiro-Jess Liaudin vs. Paul Taylor Quote Link to comment
