Did they add something new to the story or did they not add anything! Some people are purists and some just like something new so personal preference comes in to play, actors. Viola Posted May 31, 2018 Share Posted May 31, 2018 I'm okay with reboots, but most of the time they tend to disappoint. One exception though is my favorite TV series, Doctor Who. It started 1963 and went off the air in 1989. They tried to revive it with a movie, but it wasn't enough to propel it back to its iconic status. Come 2005, they did it correctly as a TV series and it is running until now. It works because the main character can regenerate into a completely different person with a different personality but with the same goal. Ā Another one that's enjoyable for me is Will & Grace and Gilmore Girls. The Veronica Mars movie, i'm not sure if one can consider that a reboot or merely a continuation story for the fans. A sort of closure movie.Ā I recently saw a trailer of the Meteor Garden reboot and I'm not a fan. The Charmed reboot doesn't look promising too. Sometimes they try to hard to make it 'unique' that it becomes an epic fail. Quote Link to comment

Transformers Animated was panned heavily before it aired due to the animation style.... but it turned out to be one of the grandest shows.
