Dc And Marvel Universe

Yesterday, I snagged another Thor #1 sa CO. sabi saken ni ate, kukuhanin daw ni JUN. Who's Jun?! hehehehe. well, sabi nya: first come, first serve. but, she said that she has her final copy at home. so pagbibigyan ko na si jun.hahahahha.

 

also bought Hellboy: Crooked man #1 & Captain America #39. I'm so stoked about Bucky, he kicks ass, being the new Cap'.

 

Yup, they have the black and colored cover there in CO. but i think they are selling to bout P400/each. But a few months ago, I bought a black cover in Ebay for P200. I think I'll have my eyes still on those 2. heheheh. paunahan na lang. hehehehe. just kidding. naubusan na ako ng pera. But tomorrow at Sunday, I'll get just one comic in reserves.

 

To be honest, even nung bata pa me, I havent tried to collect Marvel. Because I was really into that 'Image' thing. I've gotta say, I miss 'Anvil' & Maxx sa Image. they looks so f#&kin' cool! So, now that I'm at this age. I wanna collect Marvel comics now. SO, here I am collecting butt loads of Marvel, some DC, some Image, plus ASM. I really have no idea about what his story for all these years. But now, I want to catch up. So, f#&k YEAH!

 

I have known Spidey just a little and also the basics info about him. I think, him and GG is one of the classic rivalries in Marvel. Like X-Men and Magneto; Fantastic Four and Dr. Doom; Wolverine and Sabretooth; it goes on and on. So, I think that his story arc is gonna KICK ASS! I wish Kirkman could write ASM, it would be so f#&kin' exciting!.

Hehehe. Joke lang, hindi ako si Jun. Nag Spider-Man din ako dati. Naalala ko pa yung una kong Spider-Man comic kung saan unang lumabas si Cardiac at si Cletus Kasady (Carnage host). Pero paminsan minsan lang ako bumibili nun. Di ko nga nakuha yung unang appearance ni Carnage pero kung nakuha ko man eh hindi ko din siguro maaalagaan yung comic nung mga panahon na yun. Naalala ko din tuloy yung 1st app ni Carnage eh binebenta sa CO nung mga unang buwan ng pagbukas sa Gale. Balak kong bilhin sa sahod ko tas bigla na lang nawala.

Yung comic odyssey sa sm north ganun ang ugali tapos wala pang plastic and board pag bumili ka sa kanila ng comics. Pag bibili ka ay by bulk ang gusto nila. Kaya ayun at lumipat na lang ako ng suking tindahan.

i remember when malapit na mag closed down ang C.A.T.S a month or two.....i went to the Market! Market ! branch there the tinderas ( na mukhang wlang gana na mag benta since alam nila na mag sasara na sila ) let me have all the freedom to search sa mga RESERVATIONS ng mga customers nila...dami mga nakareserved na comics na good buy na 50% off ....bought some DC stuff ( dyan ko kinuha halos all the GREEN LANTERN series ni GEOFF JOHNS ) ........kaso masmarami mga MARVEL COMICS na magaganda na nan dyan pa...........sayang at di ko kinuha kc starting pa lang ako sa comic comeback ko at that time..hehehehe.......

Pinakamura ang variant sa Filbars, dahil nasa Php500 lang ang variants nila.. Ang problema hindi sigurado na darating kahit nai-order mo pa.. Especially variants in the 1:75 or 1:50 range.. The easier to get 1:25 or 1:10 ang madaling makuha.. As of now, I am lucky that my comic shop has reserved several SI variants (in the 1:25 range) for me.. I currently have all the variants of SI (di ko pa nakukuha yung #s 3 & 4), and an extra #1.. Medyo malakas kasi ako sa Filbar's Riverbanks eh..

 

And on a side note, the 1:75 to 1:50 (I think) is being sold at around P800 - 1K lang sa Filbars, yun nga lang sobrang bihira ito..

If I only knew that CATS would close down, I would have gone to their stores.. Buti na lang at kilala ko yung bumili ng buong tinda at collection ni Billy Lim-it (CATS' owner) at meron akong nakuha sa kanya..

 

@khumpleetist: Grabe bro, nagsisisi ako na hindi ko nakita kaagad (a year back) ang Hack/Slash na series.. Meron ka pa bang makikitaan na #1 nito? Ito ata ang susunod na indie comics to movie na papatok (ala The Crow, Sin City or 30 Days of Night)..

Just want to share some thoughts..

 

Much has been said about the 90's comicbook phenomenon.. The decade when Spiderman #1, XMen #1 came out and created so much buzz that comic book companies just gave and gave until good stories were shelved to give fans more comics every week.. Sacrificing good stories.. These things made comics shitty and a lot of the storylines became "worthless.."

 

Image, Valiant, Malibu (Ultraverse), Defiant (Jim Shooter's baby after Valiant), and Dark Horse were born in this decade.. Some survived and some died.. But honestly, some of the best stories will be found in some their books.. Image spawned (no-pun-intended) Spawn, Savage Dragon and WildCats, Malibu had Prime and its Ultraverse with Mantra & Hardcase (until Marvel bought the company and destroyed the great Universe Malibu created), Defiant had its Warriors of Plasm (had a good start but just fizzled in the end) and Dark Horse had X, Barb Wire, Concrete, Monkeyman & O'Brien.. Other notable comics were Shi, Lady Death, Evil Ernie, Vamperotica....

 

Because of pure commercialism, a lot of the comics in the 90's just fizzled out.. Bumaduy ang mga istorya at dahil sa overexposure ng mga characters (Spidey, Wolvie, Shi, Ghost Rider, Lady Death, and even Spawn), nawala ang interes ng mga tao at eventually nawala na din ang ibang comicbook fans.. (like me!)..

Yup.. Nobody told me that Turner had bone cancer.. Kung alam ko lang, bumili na din ako ng mga authenticated signed covers niya.. I've seen Cris' collection on Turner.. He bought them before (karamihan) sa e-bay international.. And as I have said, wala akong guts bumili abroad tapos papadala dito.. haha.. Ask mo kung ibebenta niya.. Okay naman mag-benta si Cris eh.. Try ko ngang kulitin yun..

 

Hey! Has anyone of you here noticed than Silvestri's art is similar to Turner's.. Understudy daw ni Turner si Silvestri eh..

But would the resurrected Barry Allen make an appearance? If that's the case, then, I am interested.. Kaso ang mahal nito at 3 parts pa.. Ahsus! Any thoughts?

Final Crisis REQUIEM is better than FINAL CRISIS itself......quite touching. Peter Tomasi is good.

 

btw, CO galle branch may problem yata sa telephone line sa credit card nila kahapon so Cash ang binayad ko yesterday.....kaya mga bros .....magdala kayo ng cash in case sira pa ang line this few days.......linya sa telepono daw sabi kahapon ang may problem.

I was thinking like norbyela na Comic Quest yung shop kse sa CO eh may bag and board talaga. May spoiler tag dito sa forum, try mo lang isearch yung option sa Quick Access menu na nasa left side ng scren kapag nagtatype ka ng reply. Andami ko ng backlog kaya hindi ko pa nababasa yung SI #4 pero pilitin kong makakuha ng kopya next Friday.

 

Into t-shirts ka rin pala. Sa CQ ako nakaiskor ng mga shirts ko, bad trip nga kasi gusto kong kunin yung red shirt na Supergirl #1 cover ni Michael Turner dati sa Megamall pero nabili na agad. Sayang, ireregalo ko pa sana sa pinsan kong babae.
