Well, napaisip na naman ako dun sa Eye Of The Camera. I don't have plans of getting it na kasi nga ang dami ng pulls pero dahil mapipirmahan nung artist eh napaisip isip ako. Mas ok sana kung lahat ng issues eh mapipirmahan nya no? My pull list is only few for this week pero I plan to get them on Dec 6 na. Malapit na nga ang Dark Reign, mixed emotions na naman ako dahil sa budget. Hahaha.

My good finds sa Komikon are cheap comicbooks na nasa 10 to 25 pesos each.. The best buys are the Harbinger TPB, Madame Xanadu #1, Chuck #1 and Army of Darkness #1 (first Army of Darkness comicbook).. Gumastos lang ako ng mga P400 on back issues..

 

Thanks for the tip bro at hanapin ko yung shop. Nga pala at may isang namakyaw ng mga tpb dun sa area ng yun. May nakita akong green lantern compilation (di ko lang maalala kung anong story arc yun). I was wishing na may magbenta pala nun ng murang darth maul figure. Naalala ko yung comicon kasi sa megamall na yung pinamura pa ata ay 500p (ayaw magpatawad nung nagbebenta-hehehe)

I have the new PREVIEWS magazine now.. Marvel still does not want to share anything on their DARK REIGN storyline.. Napakadaming titles ang tied-up sa SI: Dark Reign and I guess its up to us what titles to choose from..

 

My take? I won't be getting all titles that are tied-up, kundi magastos ito..

 

I am targetting all titles that are written by Brian Michael Bendis (New Avengers, Dark Avengers and Secret Warriors).. That is a no-brainer.. I am also continuing Mighty Avengers by Dan Slott.. And because of Rick Remender, I am also planning to get the first Punisher story-arc that is directly tied up *daw* sa Dark Reign..

 

Kukuha din ako nung mga first issues ng Agents of Atlas at Black Panther.. Parang hindi naman importante yung Agents of Atlas but who knows.. Black Panther showcases a new female Panther.. I was never a fan of the character, so I will just get the first issue..

 

By January 21, I would also be renewing my ties (hehehe!) with the Spiderman comicbook.. I shall be getting the Character Assassination storyline (from ASM #584-588)..

 

Sa War of Kings? Dun lang ako sa XMen: Kingbreaker dito..

 

It also looks like I shall be dropping XMen Legacy after the Original Sin cross-over (which happened today!).. I shall also be dropping Uncanny after #507 (HA Dummy storyline - which is also part of the Manifest Destiny storyline).. Medyo dragging ang Uncanny at mali ako sa pag-expect na malaking story ang magaganap dahil sa issue #500.. :thumbsdownsmiley:

 

Nakakatawa nga but sa February wala yatang lalabas na the Twelve, Incognito, at Kick Ass.. Pati Wolverine ni Millar.. Ang babagal nila.. hahaha.. Ano ito parang yung Trials of Shazam ng DC, na inabot ng almost one and a half year in the making? Ahsus!!!

Now, let us talk about DC.. This month would be slow..

 

This coming February, DC has a huge Batman storyline.. Neil Gaiman is at the writing helm and he is doing a two-parter.. In Batman #686 and Detective #853, Gaiman will be establishing the story called.." Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?".. Sure na ako dito.. This would be my jumping point in Batman after Morrison's RIP..

 

I won't be continuing Superman after "New Krypton" but I will be getting Superman #685, which features a Death in the Superman Family..

 

Sa sobrang dami kong balak kunin sa Marvel at indies.. Yung picks ko sa DC ang uuntiin ko..

 

My Green Lantern and JSA pulls shall continue, though..

The Robin and Nightwing titles will "END" this coming February.. I wonder if this is a prelude of sorts to a run of sorts for Tim Drake and Dick Grayson.. Would they take on Batman and Detective Comics while we await what would happen after RIP.. hahaha..

^Seriously, though, DC has "broken" the Bat before.. And they did not do a good follow-up story on it.. Dick Grayson took the mantle after Azrael went crazy.. And then Bruce Wayne just "regenerated" and took the mantle once again.. That's it, you say? Yep.. It was fun while it lasted but right now, it did not really create much impact.. Unlike the crippling of Batgirl, the death of Jason Todd, the breaking of the Bat just went kaput.. And now this RIP..

 

The question remains, what would DC do to the Batman franchise? Can they hold up much like what Marvel is doing to its own Captain America franchise? The next issues of Batman won't really be that interesting.. Its just an aftermath.. I am staying until Grant Morrison leaves Batman, but after that, I am not really interested anymore not until a major storyline happens..

 

Neil Gaiman offers a refreshing take and I am willing to tag along with Mr. Gaiman.. But after that? I dunno.. Brubaker has done well with keeping me glued to Captain America, but would the respective writers for Batman do the same? I hope so.. I want to stay until Bruce Wayne makes an appearance, however, I want this to be very dramatic and even w/ his arrival, the RIP storyline should still be making ripples in both Detective and Batman..

The next two issues of Batman (if I am not mistaken) will still be written by Morrison.. After that, I think it would be someone else, but it won't be Gaiman.. Gaiman is slated to do a two-parter Bats #686 and continue in Detective #853.. After that, medyo hindi na malinaw ang DC sa patutunguhan ng Batman series nila.. Robin and Nightwing are ending, and I wonder if these things mean something for the Batman franchise..

 

My suggestion w/ Dark Reign, medyo mamili ka lang ng kukunin mo na titles, bro.. Hindi lahat ng titles feeling ko importante.. Just try getting all the Bendis titles para sure.. If you don't want to get Punisher War Zone, then don't.. I really do not feel that its that necessary.. I am just getting the title because of Remender.. hehe.. Yung Black Panther parang ok ang concept, kaya try ko.. Kaso baka first appearance lang din ang kunin ko ng Lady Panther..

 

Yung War of Kings: XMen Kingbreaker is an important event para sa akin, coz ito ang ipapalit ko sa Xbooks ko come January.. I have the Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire and I liked that one year event in Uncanny.. It had major ripples across the X-Universe (death of Corsair and Havok leading the Starjammers) and I think Kingbreaker will once again spotlight Vulcan and his merry squad of insane "heroes.." I didn't get the Emperor Vulcan series and I guess tama lang, kasi pinakita lang naman dun na natalo ang group nina Havok at Polaris.. But this Kingbreaker means WAR.. Not only vs. the Starjammers (led by Havok) but I think a lot of protagonists will try to overthrow Vulcan..

With regards to Dark Reign eh main title lang ang kukunin ko. Kung asa New Avengers at Mighty Avengers pa rin si Bendis eh bonus na lang kasi regular titles ko yang dalawang yan. Yung Punisher War Journal eh para lang medyo maiba yung binabasa ko sa usual na superhero genre. Pero malabo pa rin sa PWJ. Definitely 1st appearance lang ako ni lady Black Panther. I'm looking forward to Dark Avengers and Justice League next year and I might drop Booster Gold and New Exiles for those two. Yung War Of Kings eh parang spin-off na rin ng Secret Invasion kaya crucial din siya pero ala na akong budget dun. Dun sa Batman eh hanngang kay Gaiman lang talaga ako. Just a heads up, next week na yung first appearance ng mga Milestone Comics characters na canon sa DCU so getting 2 copies won't hurt.

Creator-owned din yata ito (like Spawn), but never really made it BIG.. So, hindi ito first appearance nila diba? Or would there be other characters that would be introduced kaya sinabi mo na "first appearance?" I am not too interested in the re-incarnation of these characters, but if the reviews are good, then why not..

Nung una kasi silang lumabas eh hindi kasama sa continuity ng DCU or kung nakapag-interact man sila sa DC characters eh parang crossover for fun lang pero ngayon eh in-continuity na sila. I just want to share some recent hauls that I got yesterday while walking the halls of Virra Mall.. Got surprised that one store was carrying these limited edition Bobble Heads..

 

The Spiderman and the Green Goblin are both limited editions and can only be bought in the 2008 San Diego Comic Con.. The Spidey is limited to 1008 copies while the Glow in the Dark Goblin is limited to 480 pieces.. As I checked e-bay, kakaunti lang ang mga for sale na ganito.. Meaning, medyo hard to find sila.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Yung si Static eh sa title na may Titans ata siya magdedebut at mukhang nabili na ng DC si Static at kung sino pa mang kasama niya dun sa sarili niyang universe. @Norby: Nice to meet you last Saturday, bro.. Parehas pa tayo na kumuha ng 2 kopya ng Eye of the Camera.. With regards to the What If's.. As you well know, hindi ako masyadong mahilig sa stories that are not within continuity.. So medyo biased ako diyan.. haha.. But What If's are proven to be good/solid storylines that are very much enjoyable..

 

@Khumpleetist: Thanks for the head's up with Amazing Fantasy #1 (second run).. $4 siya based on the Price Guides.. At mura nga ito (given its good condition) for 20 bucks.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Good find yung Wolverine na pinapirma mo kila Leinil at Ed, kainggit nga eh. :thumbsupsmiley: Yung tungkol sa What If House Of M eh medyo ok lang sa akin kung ako tatanungin mo kasi recently eh naapreciate ko din yung nga alternate realities na mga istorya kasi nagbabasa ako ng New Exiles at Booster Gold. Pero hindi talaga para sa lahat yung mga alternate reality stories kita mo naman si revi. Teka, di ka ba kukuha nung Wondeful Wizard of Oz? Cute nung drwaing eh.

Nga pala, hassle yung issue ko ng Secret Invasion #8 kasi may damage sa loob pati yung Justice Society #21. Maipapalit ko naman yun pero ewan ko lang yung SI #8 kasi may pirma ni Leinil eh. Bahala na sa Sunday, tawagan ko na lang si Mdam Nelida mamya.

Ah, sabagay ok din naman kung HC. Kukuha din ako ng Thor #600 pero yung regular cover lang. Thunderbolts will be an key title and a great companion for Dark Reign kasi nga andito si Norman Osborn. Ms. Marvel #35 is probably the fall out of the latest Captain Marvel series. I don't know if this is the first time na magkikita si Carol at Noh Varr pero being an Avenger eh definitely magiging key title din ito during Dark Reign.

The first installment on Dark Reign had so-so reviews at ign.com.. Expectations are high on Bendis to deliver after SI #8.. Napakadami daw pwedeng gawin after that issue, and SI: Dark Reign did not capitalize on the opening that SI #8 gave.. hehe.. Let us see how the story unfolds.. Low rating or not, Dark Reign is a major storyline that we can not avoid..

 

BTW, I recently bought the January issue of Wizard.. I also had the new Wizard 2009 Platinum reserved.. Wala kasing Price Guide dun sa Platinum kaya hindi ko muna binasa.. Sa January issue ko nabasa na si Leinil Yu ang Best Artist for 2008.. Nice! A Filipino for Wizard's Best Artist..

 

As I checked the price guide, natuwa ako dahil madami akong titles na kinuha last year na medyo tumaas ang mga presyo.. Kick Ass is one of them.. $15 na ang issue #1 nito.. The funny thing is that I have 2 #1's of Kick Ass..

 

Will post more as I browse through the magazine...
