I have a different opinion w/Avengers/Invaders kasi gumaganda naman siya so far pero kasi nga walang impact ito malamang sa current continuity kaya medyo panget. Pero I'm still hopeful.

 

Avengers/Invaders was never intended to be part of continuity, mga bros.. It was (IMO) intended to be a slugfest of sorts and (in a way) a milking cow for Marvel because of Alex Ross.. I bought the damn thing because #1 I love slugfests.. Yun lang yun.. Much like Transformers/Avengers, JLA/Avengers, or even Red Sonja/Spiderman, these stories are meant for fun and an enjoyable read.. Let us not expect too much on things like these na alam naman natin na malabo na ma-insert sa continuity..

 

Therefore, I agree with khumpleetist on this one.. :thumbsupsmiley:

.. FF #561 is finally in.. Millar is really pushing a lot of his fans' patience to the hilt.. Lahat ng comics niya ay delayed.. Except for 1985, everything is delayed.. FF, Wolverine and War Heroes..

 

.. Having second thoughts on Spawn #186.. But I might give the new storyline a shot.. Baka big repurcussions ito in the future, coz McFarlane is doing the writing chores.. And because it is his most successful creation, he might give the warrior from hell some changes and this might just spice things a bit.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Pumunta ka na.. Ano ba naman ang comics.. Isang set nasa 500 lang, hindi man masasaktan ang iyong ipon.. haha..

I attended the UP Komikon, but I came there at around 5 already.. That means, hindi ko na naabutan ang mga known artists who signed comicbooks and some even sketched (was not interested in this, coz I'd have to pay --- kurips eh!).. When I came, Jay Anacleto left already and Leinil Yu was about to leave.. Di bale meron namang December 6 na event sa Comic Odyssey eh..

 

The Komikon was all about the local comicbook industry.. It was not about collectibles.. In that sense, kakaunti ang nagbebenta ng mga back issues.. And this made my day incomplete.. Lahat ng nabili ko ay from bargain bins and wala ni isa akong nabiling Silver Age or Bronze Age comicbooks (ito ang talagang target ko)..

 

I did bought some stuff na tig-10 to 25 pesos each.. Noteworthy are the following:

 

Chuck #1

Madame Xanadu #1

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Raising Cain) #1 and #3

Friday the 13th (Abuser and the Abused)

Army of Darkness #1 (this one's rare :thumbsupsmiley:)

.. and a Harbinger TPB (80 bucks only)

 

The highlight of the event was Alfredo Alcala's space.. It showcased the artist's talent and it even included blown up copies of Mars Ravelo's creations from the old Komiks of the 40's, 50's..

I wasn't able to go there because of an emergency on the same day! Even if I did eh wala akong budget sa ngayon kaya nag-pass ako dito. At leat may nakuha kang bargain na Harbinger bro saka yung Army Of Darkness. I'll be there sa CO sa 6th pero baka hindi ako kumuha nung Eye Of The Camera kasi nga nililimit ko yung mga titles ko. I'll just go there and get my reservations probably.

The Army of Darkness was a good find, but its not in mint condition.. But at 10 bucks, who's complaining? haha..

Bossing ako pumunta at napalaban ako kakahanp ng good buy and memento from the event. Nakita ko si Gerry Alanguilan past lunch time at dami ren tao sa table niya. Not much toys for sale at nanghinayang ako dun sa magneto na binibenta lang ng 200 (nagdalawang isip pa kasi ako). Nabili ko lang ata yung call center comics na gawa pala ng kaibigan ko.

Halatang hindi ka nag-ba-backread ano, bro? hahaha.. Check my post above, I went there and I got some good finds.. But not that awesome.. Kumbaga mga pwede na.. Mga #1 issues..

You want that Magneto, bro? Yung loose? Kilala ko nagbebenta niyan eh.. He has a shop in Megamall, called JAE Collectibles (basement).. Try going there and ask their personnel on how to get a hold of that figure..

 

My good finds sa Komikon are cheap comicbooks na nasa 10 to 25 pesos each.. The best buys are the Harbinger TPB, Madame Xanadu #1, Chuck #1 and Army of Darkness #1 (first Army of Darkness comicbook).. Gumastos lang ako ng mga P400 on back issues..

@norbyela: If you are digging your set-up already, I suggest that you also get an amplifier para mas malakas ang sound at enhanced ang effects ng surrounds mo.. Our current TV set up sa sala naman ay kamukha ng sa iyo (but what we have is a 43 inch Rear Projection TV - medyo 3 years na ito sa amin) --- meron din itong kasama na DVD Home Theatre System, but kulang para sa akin ang sound effects kahit na may surround pa.. Kaya bumili ako ng amplifier at bumili ako ng mas malakas pa na sub-woofer and better/bigger speakers.. Now, very satisfied na ako sa set-up ng TV namin.. :thumbsupsmiley:
