Welcome ryan69! Join ka lang dito, welcome ka palage. I think the GR vs GR arc would be great. I'm getting the arc too not because I'm a Jason Aaron fan (although I liked his Get Mystique! arc in Wolverine) but I like GR's genre. Btw, I'm also getting Ghost Rider: Danny Ketch. W/regards to the Black Panther book I might just get the issue where the new Black Panther appears. Flash Rebirth is most likely a hit since The Flash is Geoff John's favorite character and he'll pull every trick he knows on the book. The New Krypton arc might be special since Superman is celebrating his anniversary this year. I wrote might be special because I wasn't satisfied w/John's and Donner's collaboration on the Last Son arc recently. Maybe Justice League would be a hit.

 

Jason Aaron had a good run in Wolverine.. Not great but good.. I expect more from him in Ghost Rider.. GR is not overexposed anymore (as compared to the mid 1990s) and that can make Aaron tweak the GR mythos more.. I am excited with what he can deliver with the character.. Sana may major na mangyari dito, hindi yung usual na bati at team-up scenarios after a slugfest.. I hope one GR would become a spawn of Mephisto or something.. haha.. Yun ang major tweaking.. haha..

 

Flash: Rebirth, New Krypton and the Blackest Night are storylines that are worhty to wait for.. Geoff Johns has proven his writing skills to be one of the best in the superhero genre.. The Last Son arc was well received by critics but if compared with how he wrote Sinestro Corps, malayo ito.. Sinestro Corps had huge effects on the DCU, and I feel that all up and coming storylines (Flash Rebirth, New Krypton and the Blackest Night) will also have huge repercussions.. That is my gut feel.. :cool:

Joker HC? Yup.. Kahit na hindi ito within continuity mukhang maganda ito.. Since I saw a preview in the Feb 2008 issue of Wizard, I wanted it already.. Maganda ang art ni Lee Bermejo and the storyline as previewed in some internet sites seems really good.. I'd give this a chance, if I were you, bro.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Actually, bro, hindi talaga HC siya eh.. Graphic Novel ito.. As far as I know, this is not a compilation of old Joker stories or even new stories.. Stand-alone new story lang siya.. :thumbsupsmiley:

After I got my comics at Filbars Riverbanks, I decided to visit Virra Mall, Greenhills to get some Hero Clix figures yesterday.. At nabigla ako nung nakita ko na naka-sale dun ang Astro Vision.. Big time sale.. And I was dumbfounded when I saw that the Superman 13 Disc DVD Steel Case is available and it was only being sold at Php1,725.. I've been searching for this set since its price went down kaya hindi ko binibili yung mga Superman individual films kaso ang hirap maghanap na (check e-bay).. The steel case is kinda hard to find already.. Kahit sa States pa.. Kaya bili na kayo.. :thumbsupsmiley:

 

In this steel case, you can find the 13 DVDs (includes all the Superman films, plus its variants and other special features), a Lenticular slip case and a mini-comicbook.. Here is the picture (sorry sa kalat ng table namin sa ofc )..

 

BTW, naka-sale din yung mga ibang 2-disc set ng Spiderman movies, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four.. Meron na ako ng mga ito, but gusto ko din sanang bumili ng iba pang DVDs but because of budget constraints medyo pinalampas ko na.. Sayang yung HellBoy (2 Disc Set) at Ghostbusters 1 and 2.. Well, may iba pa namang mga sale na pwede makuha mga ito.. Ayoko ng palampasin yung Superman dahil baka hindi ko na ito makita ulit sa ibang stores.. haha..

Thanks, bro.. I would be getting the Iron Man movie 2 disc DVD set (special iron man mask case) and the new Indiana Jones DVD (with Crystal Skull replica) this week or next week.. Php1,550 at Php2,500 yun respectively.. Gusto ko kasi makuha yung mga limited edition cases and memorabilia eh.. Kaso sobrang mahal gastos ko.. Lalabas pa yata yung Hellboy boxed set.. At gusto ko din yun.. Puros gastos.. Haayz!

 

Kaya binitawan ko yung Ghostbusters na set, Casino Royale 2 Disc set, V for Vendetta 2 disc set din, pati na din yung na Hellboy 2 disc last Saturday eh.. Medyo madami naman kasi ito at hindi limited as compared to the Superman DVD steel case.. At ayoko maubusan nung Iron Man at Indiana Jones na special edition DVDs..

 

Just a word of advise sa mga DVD collectors.. If the DVD you are buying do not have special cases or memorabilia, usually na-sa-sale din ang mga yan after 3-4 months.. Kahit pa yung mga Spiderman, na-sa-sale din, so wag kayo atat na bumili.. If the price of the DVD has fallen to Php199.. Bilhin niyo na.. Or kung 2 disc at bumaba na sa P275, good deal na din yun..

 

But there are DVDs na hindi talaga na-sa-sale.. Kamukha nung Transformers.. Sold out na yan.. DVD man o VCD.. Tsambahan din ang sale eh.. Hindi siya sure.. But I'd rather wait for a few months before I sink my teeth in.. Except for the special edition releases.. Kasi since lumabas yung Spartan helmet memorabilia sa 300 na DVD, halos lahat ng special edition cases/memorabilia ay na-so-sold-out..

Kuha ako Spawn #185, kaso skeptical ako kung itutuloy ko ito.. Less gastos na next month, wala na yung Marvel 1985 at Project Superpowers.. haha.. :thumbsupsmiley:

F_ck you bro! You've convinced me w/the Joker HC and right now I'm already regretting that I'm not getting it (due to budget constraints). Hay, I think this book would become like The Killing Joke HC or The Dark Night Returns but I hate myself for not getting it. :grr: In fact, I still can't make up my mind while writing this reply and before I send my email to CO. Anyway I won't read it if I get it since it's a HC (btw, how do you take care of your HCs?) and I would get a TPB in the future for reading purposes. Great tips on DVD collecting. I tried to get into it way back but I find it frustrating but when you posted that DVDs normally get lower after 3-4 months I might buy those DVDs again but I'm not into limited editions (I know it would be sweeter, but I already have a lot of addiction ). I'm thinking of either getting those top grossers or award winners first. Would you believe I bought Titanic (Di Caprio & Winslett) because it was the no. 1 movie by that time. Since you opened this topic I'm also thinking of those blue ray discs eventhough I don't have a blue ray player but the DVD has already a clear picture and that suits me fine. Still can't forgive myself for not getting Joker HC, the only consolation is that it's not canon. I'm also thinking of getting Spawn #185 but oh well.

I got mine sa CO, magkaiba ang release ng packaging like here in th PI. If you want a metal case. Check mo sa ASTROVISION, I saw one sa SHANGRI LA but you can try dyan sa GALLERIA.

Naka-reserve na ang mga special releases ko ng Iron Man at ng Indiana Jones dito sa Astro Vision SM Marikina.. I am not into the steel cases unless boxed set.. What I am getting are the Iron Man with the speical disc case at Indiana Jones na merong memorabilia inside.. Once makuha ko na, I will post pics here..

 

I am not getting all the Spawn covers, papa-reserve ako kay Sandy nung Todd McFarlane na cover..

Hero Clix are the small miniature toys that you buy at Php500 per pack.. At hindi mo alam kung ano ang laman ng isang pack.. Lie-low na din ako dito dahil hindi na magkasya sa istante ko.. I have posted pics re: my Hero Clix collection a few pages back.. But for your info, i-post ko siya ulit.. May price guide itong mga ito dahil may mga rare din or unique figures.. Some figures are sold at Php8-10K per piece.. The Nightcrawler unique is being sold at around $50 sa States in e-bay.. I decided to collect this coz mas madali siyang i-display and you have a chance to get a lot of characters na hindi usually ginagawan ng action figure (e.g., Gravitron, Moondragon, Gargoyle, etc.).. Madaming Hero Clix, merong DC, merong Indies, Horror clix, etc.. But I only get Marvel.. These figures are actually being used to play with.. Ala Mage-Knight, if you are familiar with that board game.. Yung mga toys na may game dial..
