^haha.. Brief na lang ba ang matira, bro? Muntik-muntikan na din na pati brief ko naibenta ko nung bumalik ako today, bro.. Kinontrol ko lang urges ko kaya intact naman ang mga suot-suot ko nung pumunta ako at nung umuwi na ako..

 

Alas! I was able to go back to the ToyCon but my wife gave me a curfew.. Isang oras at kalahati lang daw ako pwede tumagal dahil bibili siya ng sapatos at dahil sa pinagbigyan niya ako, sa ipon ko kukunin yung pambili.. But what the hell! At least, I was able to bring my PriceGuide Companion.. Kaya pinagkukuha ko yung mga early and first appearances ng mga important characters in the Marvel Universe.. Wala kasi masyado DC eh, yung kay Lobo lang ang nakuha ko eh..

2) Marvel Spotlight #28 - Early Moon Knight - first full story on the character.. Don Perlin art.. P150.. Valued at $35..

3) Conan The Barbarian #23 - First Appearance of Red Sonja, Barry Windsor Smith art.. Very good condition.. P50.. Valued at $40..

4) Conan The Barbarian #24 - Red Sonja's 2nd appearance and first full story on her.. P50.. Valued at $38..

5) Master Of Kung Fu #17 - also considered as Master of Kung Fu #1.. as this is the first issue of the series.. $100.. Valued at $30..

6) The Omega Men #3 - First appearance of Lobo.. P120 bucks..

7) The Punisher #1 - First issue of the first regular series.. P100..

8) Dark Horse Comics #8 - First appearance of X.. P150..

9) Tomb Of Dracula #12 - Second Appearance of Blade.. P50.. Valued at $65..

10) Giant Size: Chillers #1 - First Appearance of Lilith, Dracula's Daughter.. P150.. Valued at $60..

11) Iron Fist #15 - Last issue of the series and Early Xmen Appearance.. Cockrum cover and Byrne art.. Given for free.. Valued at $70..

12) Incredible Hulk #122 - Early Hulk vs. Thing/Fantastic Four, 1969.. P100.. Valued at $90..

13) Incredible Hulk #162 - First Appearance of Wendigo.. P100.. Valued at $80..

 

All issues are in good condition.. Not really in the best shape but I would say that they are all acceptable..

 

The owner of these comics really does not care about the value/market prices of his comicbooks.. Sobra kasing dami niyang rare books na punong puno na daw ang bahay niya.. Kung sa Comic Odyssey lang ang mga ito.. Baka kahit P500-1K per issue ay maliit..

So a tip for those going to Comic Cons and Toy Cons, always bring an Overstreet Price Guide with you.. Magaling din kung may kodigo ka.. Ngayon ang problema ko na lang ay wala pa akong bags and boards to protect them.. Sa Saturday pa ako makakabili sa Odyssey.. Plus I need a comic box again.. :thumbsupsmiley:

btw, i asked CO regarding sa mga damage issues.....P 100.00 daw ang benta..sabi nila marami din daw bumibili nyan coz for reading reading lang. they showed me IRON MAN # 1n 2 for example.... sa 1st page............. may maliit lang na punit sa 1st page :headsetsmiley:

@khumpleetist: Sayang! About a year ago, what I bought in the Toy Con were mostly latest mini-series or storyarcs like Avengers: Disassembled, and the like.. Was thinking of buying the Identity Crisis series, but decided to buy Elektra: Assassin instead.. Dahil mas hard to find.. Most of the comics I bought (which you could read) are mostly old stuff.. And at very cheap prices.. It also surprised me dahil magaganda ang condition nila.. Madami pa daw nito sa storage room nung seller at willing siya ibenta.. Will definitely ask kung may mga Comic Con na susunod dahil kung magbebenta pa siya, pupunta ako.. :thumbsupsmiley:

 

@mazinger: Thanks for the kind words.. My Overstreet Price Guide (pocket book format) is almost 2 years old.. Much like you, hindi di naman ako updated sa mga presyo.. I bought mine at Fully Booked in SM North yata.. Importante din kasi na meron ka nito if you are heavily into Silver Age to Bronze Age Comics.. Dahil talagang pin-pointed dun kung saan ang mga 1st appearances ng mga characters and even a small event.. Like for example, Hulk vs. Thing.. If given the opportunity, kapag may makita ulit ako na mas updated at mas malaking guide, bibilhin ko na din..

I attended the toycon bro, saw the glasshouse group with Carlo Pagulayan, had some of my comics signed by him as well

I wasn't able to prepare sa expenses most of my money was spent sa toys. And I bought some good comics sa CO and sa other collector there

I even saw this booth selling silver age comics mga 1950's for 300-1000php haha

Next time iipon na talaga ako for this event. I'm expecting Leinil to be there kaso di ko siya nakita hehe

Mahal dun sa nakita mo na nagbebenta ng Silver Age.. Maganda lang ang packaging niya, kaso hindi din maganda ang condition.. What I bought from that guy was the Omega Men #3 (first appearance of Lobo) and Superman #75 (Death).. Medyo mahal nga yung Superman but nahihirapan na akong maghanap ng issue na ito eh.. Yung nabilhan ko ng mga old comics at P50-100 bucks ang gold mine.. Magaganda pa ang condition lalo na dun sa mga issues ng Hulk.. Its just a pity na kakaunti na talaga ang die-hard comics fans dahil kung talagang madaming old-comic-book-fans ubos na ang mga yun at hindi ko na siguro aabutan ang mga iyon dahil late na akong dumating nung Saturday.. Ironically, pagdating ko ng Sunday andun pa yung mga kailangan ko..

 

I was actually tempted to buy some Iron Man Toys there (Iron Monger is one) but decided against it, dahil madami naman akong kilalang nagbebenta ng toys and I could get that kahit hindi sa ToyCon.. I think I have around 5 friends who had stalls there that sell toys.. Kaya nga napabili ako nung Mattel na Tim Duncan dahil ti-next ako nung isa na meron daw siya nung matagal ko ng hanap eh.. hahaha..

 

Yung comics kasi, iilan na lang talaga ang nagbebenta ng back issues.. And the good thing was that I think I only spent

3-3,5K last weekend and for those comics I felt like I won in the Lotto.. hahaha....

I think this came out 95-96.. And I felt that I needed to get all the cross-overs and titles.. Kaya kinuha ko lahat.. Isang buong box ng comics napuno sa apat na bwan.. Puros Xmen na walang katorya-torya.. Diyoskopo! In contrast to nyok's take, I hated this storyline.. I felt that no significant ramnifications came afterwards and just gave Marvel tons of money by milking the readers' pockets (including mine)..
