Well, I got disappointed since yung mga balak kong kunin eh isa (Broken Trinity) lang ang nakuha ko at mukhang hindi separate story, mukhang preview pages lang. I've exerted effort pa naman na magpuyat para lang sa event na ito tas mauubusan lang ako sa mga hindi regular reader. Dapat tayong mga regular customers ng CO ay may privilege kung may gusto tayong kunin para maireserve naman sa atin. Nung asa loob na ako ng store eh 10 na lang ang pdeng kunin dun sa mga comic bins, ayos lang naman pero nawalan na ko ng gana kasi nga naubusan ako nung gusto ko. Ibibigay ko na lang sa kakilala ko yung 10 na nakuha ko. The only consolation is Gerry Alanguilan's comic and his signature. Tas pag-uwi ko eh umulan pa. Bad trip talaga.

 

Sabi nga ni Sandy sa akin ng pabulong na marami ng nagagalit nung kumukuha ako ng 20 titles ko.. He was asking us to try to hurry up ng kaunti.. He did not expect this kind of turn-out daw.. I was thinking of you when I saw that a lot of the FCBD comics are already running out.. Paubos na kasi yung Superpowers eh.. Yun pa naman ang medyo okay kunin coz its part of the series.. Di naman necessary but its nice to have it..

 

Sa susunod daw dadamihan na ni Sandy ang pag-order nya ng mga FCBD comicbooks.. I doubt if he could give his customers some privilege sa mga ganyang events.. Kasi ang FCBD event yata ay to encourage new readers rather than for collectors.. Nevertheless, sa susunod agahan na lang natin.. Kasi kahit ako late ng dumating eh.. Yun nga lang may friend na ako na nakapila, singit lang.. Basta kung sino mauna sa atin, singit na lang kung saan pinakamalapit.. Sumingit ka na lang sana sa amin, bro..

 

Kaso yung "ulan" wala na ako magagawa roon.. hahaha.. Just kidding..

 

Gerry Alanguilan had a lot of his comics to give away.. Kahit na nung alas-sais na, namimigay pa din siya..

I think it's a wise decision to pass on the Avengers/Invaders variant. I was thinking of getting Iron Man # 1 and following the initial arc but I just decided to get The Order # 8 where Ezekiel Stane made his debut. Btw, Ezekiel Stane is Iron Man's nemesis on the new comic.

 

Hmmm.. Thanks for the head's up on the Order #8.. Will look for this issue, might be a good investment for the future.. :thumbsupsmiley:

I sent an email to CO this week and Sandy was kind enough to reply and he'll try to incorporate to solicit and reserve the regular subscribers. I really can't put the blame on him because the event is aimed at new readers plus the fact that it's hard to manage and probably fund an event. It's just frustrating that you'll ran out of copy that you're expecting to get when you sacrificed something to attend the event w/c in my case and w/reachard eh yung mga sleeping time namin kasi galing kami pareho ng trabao at may pasok pa ulit ng gabi. Di mo rin naman masisi yung mga maagang pumila. I'll make it to a point na I'll be very early next year if there'd be another event.

 

 

I would pass on Madam Xanadu for continuity purposes. Vertigo has a very good intention for creating stories on a different continuity but it would've been better if they create a story that explains their separate universe because it's a fact that their characters (Swamp Thing, John Constantine, etc) we're part of the DCU.

5-7 issues ata ang Batman RIP. I think it's a crossover since it'll touch some of the Bat books.

 

 

I think the Brainiac issues are going to be a very good compliment dun sa Final Crisis tie-in about The Legion Of Superheroes.

I dunno.. But I don't think that all of these are crossovers.. I read the latest issue of Previews and I saw the issue of Robin there and it seems that it is not a crossover.. Well, I won't miss Batman RIP, not because I am a Batman fan, but because Grant Morrison is writing.. I just hope na hindi ito lahat cross-overs.. Puros tie-ins sana.. With Secret Invasion, and Final Crisis - medyo masakit na sa bulsa ito kapag lahat ng issues stated by Mazinger are all necessary..

I got all of my comicbooks today.. I saw variant editions of SI #2 and Avengers/Invaders #1 at Filbar's Riverbanks, and I asked them to be reserved.. Medyo mababa lang ang presyo nila compared to the other comicbook shops eh.. But I won't get them kaagad dahil sobrang dami ng kinuha ko this week.. Pinatabi ko muna.. Baka this week.. haha..

 

As we all know, the first issue of the Invincible Iron Man came out this week.. Naubusan na ang Comic Odyssey ng ibang covers.. Ang natira ay yung movie cover (featuring Robert Downey's mugshot).. According to Sandy, the most sellable are the Larocca and Quesada covers.. Its a good thing Filbars still had the Quesada cover.. Bought it agad, baka underprint yung ibang covers eh.. Well, we will never know until the Wizard magazine tells us so.. haha..

 

Wala pang Final Crisis next week.. Sketchbook pa lang.. I expect Final Crisis to ship next week.. Sigurado ito, puno na naman ang pull-list natin next week.. haha..

Well, I haven't checked next weeks' listing but I guess I'll have a few titles too. I was thinking of getting the Quesada cover last week but I really need to pass. I think CO will get some re-orders but I really have to pass kase ang dami ko ng titles. Comment lang ako sa mga nabasa ko this week:

 

ACTION COMICS ANNUAL # 11

 

Last Son concludes in a disasterous way. I'm not reading any Superman books but I read somewhere that Chris Kent is still w/Superman and if you'll compare it w/the timeframe of this story it appears Chris Kent was w/Supes for a very very short time! I really don't get this story, since Luthor and his gang were able to k*ll Kryptonians w/out breaking a sweat but why can't they k*ll Supes like that?! Parasite wasn't even given a proper story since he appears as if he just siphons the power of those lame Kryptonians and he never used these powers! I understand you can cut the story short in the end and show him (Parasite) captured but Parasite is very very dangerous when he has a Krptonian's power! The only bonus for me is the Non Vs Bizarro fight it lacked some screen time but it's funny. I really can't decide on the art since some parts were good and some parts were rushed and it's not funny. I was disappointed w/the conclusion. Very very late and very very lame! :thumbsdownsmiley:

 

AVENGERS INVADERS #1

 

I have to agree w/Wizards review that this series timeframe has an off timing since this happened after Civil War but before Secret Invasion. We'll have to see more probably. The art was just fair but the series needs to improve more.

 

CABLE #3

 

This issue was very slow. Just like what I've read somewhere, I'm also confused the way Bishop's power worked. Maybe this'll be adressed or I just need to read Bishop's bio. Is that Cannonball on the last page??? Mixed feelings w/the art though.

 

COUNTDOWN TO MYSTERY #7

 

Dunno what to comment on this latest issue. I guess I need to re-read the whole series when the next issue concludes.

 

MIGHTY AVENGERS #13

 

No Avengers in this issue but this issue is even better than SI # 2. This is a necessary tie-in. Maleev's art is like a classic painting and I like it on this issue!

 

NOVA #13

 

No fistcufss yet from Nova Vs Silver Surfer but this was the best comic for me this week! Nice subplot w/Harrow and a different approach to a Galactus feeding! The art was above average and I can't wait for the next issue!!! :thumbsupsmiley:

 

SECRET INVASION #2

 

The story doesn't really moved except for the last page. This issue was a let down in terms of the story. I was pumped at the first issue but this is mediocre maybe even less. Correct me if I'm wrong but a Skrull is able to copy the powers of the real thing right? If that's the case then Iron Man's team doesn't even stand a chance w/Phoenix and White Queen on the other side! Good thing the art saved this issue. Yu's art was topnotch! Kudos to Morales! I haven't seen Yu's early works but I guess this is what it looks like. This really needs to step-up up!

 

YOUNG X-MEN #2

 

I've read some reviews and I disagree w/them. The story is fair but it can still improve and it still managed to get me anxious for the next issue w/the last scene. Plus the art is not that bad.

^ The story in Avengers/Invaders is something I expected from these kinds of books.. I browsed through the comicbook and much like time displaced stories, napakagulo ng mga pangyayari.. Nice slugfest.. I guess we need to just appreciate the comicbook as it is, bro.. hahaha.. Much like the JLA/Avengers tipoff before..

 

I agree with you on Secret Invasion.. Kaso, medyo parang minadali ni Leinil yung artwork niya dito.. He is indeed pressured to deliver on time.. Sana wag siya maging kabado.. The first issue of SI ang pinakamagandang artwork niya na nakita ko, IMO.. And I also agree that the newest Mighty Avengers is a very nice read.. Anything with Nick Fury is something to look forward to in the up and coming months.. :thumbsupsmiley:

 

BTW, I bought a comicbook yesterday at Comic Odyssey.. A signed Alex Ross Dynamic Forces Captain America #34.. #d to 2500.. Iisa lang eh.. Pinag-agawan nga namin nung isang friend ko.. haha.. Eh ako unang nakakita.. May tawad pa yan.. haha.. :thumbsupsmiley:
