personally i don’t think true love exists. 
the best way i can put it is you consistently choosing the same person over others over and over; despite their flaws.

and you accepting for who they are to you and to them; and coming to terms of who they can’t be.

Maybe when you disregard the standards you set up for your "ideal" gf/bf and accept them for who they truly are, and you see yourself spending the rest of your life with them.
