The Invasion:

It tells the story of a mysterious epidemic that alters the behavior of human beings. When a Washington D.C. psychiatrist (Nicole Kidman) discovers the epidemic’s origins are extraterrestrial, she must fight to protect her son, who may hold the key to stopping an imminent invasion.

 

 

My Sassy Girl:

 

Jesse Bradford has signed on to star alongside Elisa Cuthbert in My Sassy Girl. The flick, a remake of the South Korean movie, will follow a small-town guy from the Midwest who thought he had his entire life mapped out until he falls for a reckless, brazen girl who turns his life upside down. Directing is Yann Samuell for Gold Circle Films.

Alien vs Predator II : Survival of the Fittest

 

Reiko Aylesworth and Steven Pasquale have been cast as the leads in 20th Century Fox's "Alien vs. Predator 2," which begins filming next week in Vancouver. In this follow-up to the worldwide hit ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, the iconic monsters from two of the scariest film franchises ever, wage war in an American Midwestern town - with the residents caught in the middle. Greg and Colin Strause direct from a script by "Armageddon" writer Shane Salerno. Davis Entertainment's John Davis and Robbie Brenner are producing. Round 2 begins officially on December 10th, 2007.

 

 

Rush Hour 3:

 

Max von Sydow, Noemie Lenoir and Hiroyuki Sanada have joined the film, which after many delays is finally set to begin production this week in Paris. von Sydow will make a rare English appearance and one of his only comedies. The actor will play the head of the World Criminal Court, while French actress/model Lenoir will star as a love interest for Tucker's character. Sanada will play one of the members of a Chinese crime syndicate that Tucker and Chan are looking to take down. New Line has already set an August 10th release date for RUSH HOUR 3.

Live Free or Die Hard:

 

Justin Long has officially signed on to star in LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD, the fourth installment of the DIE HARD series for Fox. Also joining the cast is Maggie Q, who starred earlier this summer in MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE:III. Long was rumored to be playing John McClane's son in the movie and if he still is, Fox isn't tipping their hand. All they say about his character is that he's a "computer-savvy accomplice" who helps McClane thwart an attack on the nation's computer infrastructure over the 4th of July holiday. Q will star as a world-class hacker working with the terrorist organization. Len Wiseman (UNDERWORLD) is directing the film from a script by Mark Bomback. Of course Bruce Willis is set to return in the film as McClane. Filming is set to begin later this year.

Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man!

Academy Award® Nominee Robert Downey Jr. will take on the role of one of Marvel's greatest Super Heroes, signing on as the title character for Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated Iron Man. This project, the first feature film to be produced independently by Marvel Entertainment, will launch into theaters May 2, 2008. The film is being directed by Jon Favreau and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

 

Downey is widely recognized as one of Hollywood's most versatile actors. Nominated for an Oscar® for his extraordinary portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in "Chaplin," Downey has been featured in more than 50 films. His upcoming credits include "Fur" (co-starring Nicole Kidman), "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," and the David Fincher film "Zodiac." He has also recently been seen in such films as: "A Scanner Darkly," "The Shaggy Dog," "Good Night, And Good Luck.," "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang," "Gothika," "The Singing Detective" and "Wonder Boys."

 

Based upon Marvel's iconic Super Hero, Iron Man tells the story of Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. We could not think of another actor better suited to bring one of Marvel's crown jewels to the big screen and be the centerpiece of our first independently produced feature," said Kevin Feige, President of Production, Marvel Studios.

 

Marvel Studios is currently casting all supporting roles. Filming is slated to begin in Los Angeles in February 2007.

 

Iron Man will be produced by Feige and Avi Arad. Executive Producers are Michael Helfant, Ari Arad, Favreau, Louis D'Esposito and Peter Billingsley. Downey is represented by CAA.

Director John McNaughton’s name has been attached to a Nightmare on Elm Street prequel for quite some time now, but no news has been heard about the project for months. So Fango asked McNaughton what was up. “Well, [New Line and I] talked about it, and I’m still waiting to hear back from them,” he says. “They approached me because of HENRY, since they want to make a serious film about Freddy Krueger and his early days as a school janitor. Freddy’s just a living person at that point, and this would seem more like a real story. It wouldn’t be supernatural, and it will recount the days when he used to kidnap young girls—and actually also boys—to rape and murder them.”

 

While both McNaughton and New Line seem to have a pretty good idea of what they want from the film, a script still has yet to be written. “This process obviously takes a long time and there’s no actual screenplay yet, just an idea of what the movie should be about. Let’s say I haven’t recieved the check yet,” the director laughs. “However, I do have a writer in mind whom I would like to write the new NIGHTMARE: His name is R.J. Tsarov, and he wrote the stage play I just directed. He’s a true talent and has a very original vision.”

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer:

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is shooting up in Vancouver and Fox today announced some new casting for the film. Former model Beau Garrett has signed on to star as Frankie Raye, the love interest of the Human Torch (Chris Evans) who eventually replaces Silver Surfer as the herald of Galactus (who grants her cosmic power, turning her into Nova). Andre Baugher will play a military general assigned the responsibility of tracking down the Silver Surfer. All of the original Fantastic Four are returning for the sequel as well as Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom. Doug Jones is playing the basis for the Silver Surfer character.

 

 

The Bourne Ultimatum:

Filming on the third installment of the Jason Bourne series, The Bourne Ultimatum, has begun in Tangier with stars Matt Damon, Joan Allen and Julia Stiles, as well as director Paul Greengrass, all returning. Joining the cast is Oscar nominee David Strathairn and an offer is out to Gael Garcia Bernal to star as the film's main villian. Tony Gilroy, Tom Stoppard and Paul Attanasio all worked on adapting Robert Ludlam's final Bourne novel for Universal. In addition to Tangier, the sequel will shoot in Madrid, Paris, New York, London and Riga, the capital of Latvia. The flick will this time follow Bourne uncovering mysteries of his past, which puts him in the cross-hairs of a superkiller.

 

 

Iron Man:

X-Men star Famke Janssen is thought to have been signed up to star alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man.

It is thought that she'll play Tony Stark's love interest Bethany Cabe. Her character meets Stark at a convention in New York City and their relationship quickly becomes romantic. Cabe would later help Stark beat his alcoholism. Though she doesn't know it at first, Cabe figures out that Iron Man is not only Stark's bodyguard, but Stark himself....
