johnnydrama
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallenhttp://img185.imageshack.us/img185/434/800transformersrevengefuh6.jpg The Hobbit:After months of speculation, the cinematic legend that is Sir Ian McKellen has confirmed that he is indeed preparing to dust off his grey wizard robes and cultivate himself a long, flowing beard to play Gandalf in Guillermo Del Toro’s adaptation of The Hobbit. Conan the Barbarian:Reports has it that Djimon Hounsou's will portray Thulsa Doom from Conan the Barbarian. Originally played by James Earl Jones, Thulsa Doom was the badass sorcerer who could change into a giant snake and pimp out orgies in his cave of awesome. (He actually seemed more like Conan villain Thoth-Amon than Thulsa Doom) Conan managed to break up all of those parties and enact revenge on Thulsa killing his parents right before his eyes when he was a lad, then enslaving him to a life of hard labor. In the comics, Thulsa was the main antagonist for Kull the Conqueror, then became Conan's foe. Djimon has partnered with Dynamite Entertainment to star in an origin story about how the man became known as a cruel overlord. Hercules: The Thracian WarsPeter Berg will produce and direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars for Universal.Ryan Condal will write the script, based on a five-issue comicbook series by Steve Moore that debuted in May. The story follows Hercules, the powerful son of Zeus who, after the loss of his family, turns his back on the gods and finds his only solace in bloody battle. Over the years he warms to the company of six similar souls, their only bond being their love of fighting and presence of death. When the King of Thrace hires these mercenaries to train his men to become the greatest army of all time, it is time for this bunch of lost souls to finally have their eyes opened to how far they have fallen. Witchblade:'Battlestar Galactica' director Michael Rymer has stepped into the director's seat for the upcoming comic book adaptation WITCHBLADE. The fantasy involves a jewel-encrusted gauntlet that bestows extraordinary powers upon the possessor, one chosen female from each generation. A Nightmare on Elm Street (remake):New Line has taken a step forward in bringing Freddy back to the big screen. The Warner Bros. division has hired veteran scribe Wesley Strick to pen the relaunch of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series, the franchise that helped establish New Line into a movie player in the mid-1980s. The original "Nightmare" was written and directed by Wes Craven and released in 1984. It created one of the most popular villains in screen history, Freddy Krueger, played by Robert Englund, and its runaway success spawned a slew of sequels. The films' premise centered on Krueger, a serial child killer murdered who returns with a burned face and razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams. The new project will keep the high school setting and delve deeper in the psychology of nightmares and Krueger himself. The plan is to have a dark tone. The company hopes to have the movie ready for the 25th anniversary of the original. Night of the Demons (remake): Bobbi Sue Luthor, Jonathan Beach and Michael Copon have all joined the Adam Gierasch-directed flick, which already has the hottie trifecta of Diora Baird, Shannon Elizabeth and Monica Keena in its cast. ZMDs: Zombies of Mass DestructionThe movie rights to Red 5 Comics' horror/action title ZMDs: Zombies of Mass Destruction have been snatched up by Hollywood production company Benderspink. The comic, from writer-producer Kevin Grevioux (Underworld), tells the story of a government weapons program that drops zombies, designed to be photosensitive and dissolve by a set time, into war zones at night to destroy the enemy population. But after one fails to self-destruct in the Middle East, a team of elite soldiers must enter hostile territory to stop a growing zombie army.
